So it was very interesting for me to see the difference between the 3GB and 4 GB version. I think this small difference between the Xiaomi and iphone isn't worth the much higher price for an iphone. Pretty interesting. IPhone X ram management has proven poor on most speedtests I've seen, but it performed really well here. That was good to see. Xiaomi 5 Plus App opening seems perfectly fine, and even won a few. Ram management seemed kind of poor for the Snapdragon 625, maybe they should have used the Snapdragon 630. Just saying.

Plus Xiaomi is the first software where you can remove useless navigation button or home button for 18:XX screen devices and use same way like iPhoneX! Redmi 5 Plus это китайская версия Redmi Note 5, взял себе его, не такой уж он и большой, вполне компактный, и все друзья не верили что экран 6 дюймов, экран очень хороший, батарейка кайф, 10 часов экрана 😎

Redmi 5 plus cost me £125, after installing xiaomi.eu weekly rom and Root I now have ipX like Gestures (no more soft buttons),Face ID (works next to fingerprint),Google camera apk HDR+ feature is a big big improvement over stock cam. app picture quality,tons of themes no need to wait for JB ,you can even create your own themes easily by miui theme apk ,Dolby atmos module for sound quality improvement etc etc.... Overall really happy with the phone if you like tinkering go for it...

An apple phone costs $270 to make a Xiomi phone costs the price tag to make, Apple bumps up the prices because of advertising and fanboys and to make a profit while Xiomi makes money off phone accessories and suit cases they sell on their site, they can get super cheap parts and labor compared to apple which is why for like $100 less production cost they get a similar end result (other then the camera)

You should've up the RAM at least the 3GB one if you use your phone frequently for a better performance. I myself use Redmi note 4X with 4/68GB. It is so good like no joke I'm listening to spotify for 10 hours straight using a Bluetooth headset and my battery is still on 50% mark. And I also have more than 10+ apps running at the same time.

Ok, if we compare a less than 200€ smartphone with a +1000€ one, in which they have some seconds of difference... the first one worth it a lot. iOS is an OS that only uses Apple's smartphones so this OS is perfectly optimized, while Android is a fragmented OS, its funcioning depends on the mobile's specifications, the components that has in it, some enterprises have their own OS based on Android (in this case, Xiaomi has MIUI)... I mean, it's not completely the same. In Speed Tests, an iPhone wins by far because of its own optimization. But I prefer Xiaomi and Android in general because of the freedom that I have with this smartphone. In fact, I recently bought a Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus.

2nd: apple was "the first" that didn't put headphone jack - in 2016, iPhone 7 (by the way, Samsung has headphone jack on their models :))

Once you go over the ram threshold it can make ram management seem worse than it actually is. If you had opened 1 less game on Redmi 5 it is likely they would all be kept in memory. Once you open an app that needs to reload, that reload will close another app and so on, an endless cycle of reloads.
Having owned a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 for a year now I can't fault the performance of the device especially when you take into account the battery life. I certainly wouldn't be paying the extra £5-600 to buy a Samsung or Apple flagship. The only area I have found my Xiaomi to be lacking is in the camera department. It's not terrible but it's definitely not even as good as 1/2 year old flagships.
