I ❤ my Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus. Very good 6" screen. Great 4000 mAh battery. Good Snapdragon 625 CPU. Good Adreno 506 GPU. Blazing fast fingerprint sensor. MIUI 10 is awesome. Android Oreo 8.1.

@@coqui1550 I have been choosing between Note 5ai and 5plus, but recently some users experience hiccups heating issues in SD636, fast drain that's why I go SD625. I slash off the list Note 4X, due to its not updated MIUI still stuck at Marshmallow, though its also SD625, also it has an older looking design 16:9 aspect ratio similar back desgin.
Practically, (as of this post) Redmi Note 5ai and Redmi 5 plus are almost at the same price but SD625 wins my heart in all aspects as I am dont play games in phone, not much of a selfie guy, I am more on phone effeciency, that serves just every online task I throw at the phone and Redmi 5 Plus is the clear bet.
Effectivity is vastly differs from efficiency.
Just bought one today its amazing it took some time to find this version and I paid a bit more.

2:18 I correct this to you, the phone does supports QC3.0, the problem is that the travel adapter given in the box simply doesn't support it.
I'm using this phone on a Wal-Mart family mobile plan and it's working like a champ. I'm wanting to go to stock android but other than having facebook preinstalled there wasn't anything I had to uninstall from the camera. The biggest thing that bugs me about this thing is the fact that It's just an absolute unit. I got it to replace my iPhone 4s that I had for seven years. Great phone, held up to a full road trip of google maps + soundcloud, 8 hours.

Redmi 5 Plus does support QC 3.0
It does not come with a QC 3.0 charger but it does support QC 3.0.
Note that the Redmi 5 does not support QC....
Does that mean if it charges using a higher amp charger, as opposed to the stock one, it will charge quicker?

I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X and think MIUI is great. Only thing that annoys are a few Chinese apps that I can't get rid of. However compared to Samsung phones there's hardly any bloat and it works better than touchwiz.
Like the phone reviews as my two kids are always on my back for their first phone (might actually get to use mine if i find them one😕) i have a couple of options now so cheers 😃😃😎👍
I just got mine in and am surprised at how much I'm liking it. I ordered the international version off of Amazon and was worried that it wouldn't work properly in the US. It has only 4g support on MetroPCS and Mint Mobile but I've had no connectivity issues.
About the camera, I'd highly recommend installing Open Camera. It has all of the features of the MI Camera app and then some. Also, I've noticed a bit of delay when unlocking and sometimes the screen is overly sensitive. But of course, I'm using Nova Launcher instead of the default UI and that could explain why there's delay
Like your review, in depth, offering more than just cameras and ram. Not overly demanding and keeping it in line with the segment The product belongs in. If you did a comparison between the 5 and 5 plus, would have been better. All in all, grear review and yes, jack should be at the bottom.

Great video fella! In your honest opinion which is better...the Xiaomi Mi A1 or the RedMi 5 Plus? I can't decide as I like the look of the Redmi 5, but not keen on the OS. As for the Mi A1 I'm not keen on the look (it's not a deal breaker though), but I love the fact it's android one...struggling to decide, please help me make a decision! +Steve Gustavo Hernandez Rodriguez the 5 plus has an upgraded 625 Snapdragon, however many feel the performance is very similar to the note 3 pros 650. However an extra GB of ram, newer OS and a better design on the 5 plus, would make it my pick 👍

i think the jack is better on top so i can put my headphones and put it on my pocket and exercice, and the fast charge isnt necessary it has a 4000 battery atleast for me is lasting all day, the only thing i dont like is the launcher , im used to the pixel launcher but i use google launcher

How hot does your Redmi Note 5 get? Mine reaches 40-41°C while charging. And on sitting idly 37-39°C. While gaming Blitz Brigade (3d FPS) it goes 44°C-45°C. And other 3d FPS games it goes around 42-43°C.
Why everyone Wants quick charge?? I have this phone and i charge it over night and then it holds all the day ;)
Do not ever charge when sleeping I heard the battery can get bad when doing that...
@@Moon420 BulllSh... Doing so all my life with Li-ion batteries. Not once had any issue! I don't charge it at night cause it's not needed, i get 2 days of battery life without any issue, using it through the day also as navigation ending with about 30%, and from there it gets to 100% in about hour using QC 3.0
@@rickie075 you're right I regret what I said 2 months ago due to a lot of rumors that spread false statements but recently I tested myself and other's have proven that It's not really affecting anything If you charge It overnight here a video (ruclips.net/video/dVgs6_bLcCk/видео.html) while It's for iPhone It's not any different from most Android phones cuz both use same Battery Type. While the statement by the rumors may be true It's probably nothing or to be concerned about because the side-effects are none to unnoticeable amount during long-term use.

I got one of these last week, is great so far, and it updated automatically OTA to official Xiaomi Oreo android 8 a few days ago. Not noticed any substantial differences yet (maybe an option or 2 more in the camera I'm not sure). Runs fast for me!!!

I know this is probably a bit premature but I have only ever had an android with a replicable battery.
So my question is how much would the battery cost to be replaced ? Is there a manufacturer's customer service office in the UK / London where this can be done ?
I suppose having a third party do the change might invalidate any warranty ?
Prefer headphone jack at the top so the cable doesn't get bent and frayed when the phone is in your pocket

I have the Redmi Note 4 MTK version, the only difference is screen ratio, and android version. No incentive for upgrade for me. Want to wait for the next generations of CPU
ahdoah Hsieh this was redmi 5 (not redmi note 5) it was upgraded version from redmi note 4 in term of screen ratio and others.
I think redmi 5 pro will be worth upgrade, Im planning for it, now I have note 4 SD
Use custom ROM..xiaomi developer don't care about upgrading the ROM for old devices specially MTK CPU..

ahdoah Hsieh Well, MTK is MUCH worse comparing to SD, performance is similar, but SD is much more battery efficient. The biggest difference, anyway, is that SD version comes out of the box with global MIUI and is updated faster and more regularly... has MTK version received MIUI 9.5 based on nougat yet? On SD version I got it at the end of November if I remember correctly. I agree to wait for next gen CPU's though, you can preorder Redmi note 5 pro global version for just 210€ (not dollars), which has great double camera, sd 636, comes with android 8.1 out of the box (Idk if it supports project treble though), has b20/800MHz (which mtk rn4 variant doesn't have) and 4/64 GB. Another option is the Mi 6x/mi A2.

That battery is a lot better than the Oneplus 3 then. I can browse the internet with the brightness rather low for about 5 hours approximately. And things like GPRS are off and no RUclips.
Good change of mode (review after 1 month). Many had done unboxing, it's kinda standard. But with reviews, it's personal..

@ASBYT, why don't you turn off "Auto white balance" on your camera (the one you are shooting video with)? During all the video, the white balance changes all the time and it makes no sense when you are making a static video.

To bad supported frequencys is a huge problem these days. These dont support the 900 mhz band 8 for 4g which is a total shame and leads to battery drain. Its hard to find a phone that supports all the 2g,3g,4g freq you need.

I think the new remote style key board is nice. It's not going to make me get rid of my blue tooth Rii mini key board. It works far too well. However, the new device is still better than the controller that comes standard with every android box. The comment about you looking better in the dark was funny. That is not the global one if it was it would be a label that says CE behind it. There is no global version with MIUI 9.2.0.2 there is only a Chinese version for that. So you're running the china rom but with multiple languages. I bought my one from Ali Express and it got an unofficially changed MIUI rom. So I flashed the original one. So don't expect many updates cause it is supposed to be on 9.5 right now. The phone didn't have a global release yet when it was released. But it came after 1 and a half month that's why 9.2.0.2 global edition doesn't exist. Cause Xiaomi had already done a new stable update for the global edition. So many sellers wanted a global release but they couldn't wait and the sellers we're hungry for money so they flashed it with China rom with multiple packages.

You actually can take 1080x2160 photos if you would scroll a lil bit down in camera settings.
Micro USB is not slower than USB C.. It does support fast charge, just an older spec..

I really want a new phone but the one I'm using isn't broken or anything and is working great but it's obviously slower, the display is smaller(its amoled tho) but I think I should probably wait for next year's model cause it may have smaller bezels, better cpu and so on. I'm still not sure😔
