Congrats, I'm super excited for you, welcome to the wonderful world of princessing! As far as payment, 90% of the time I book on Gigsalad so all of that stuff is taken care of for me. The client pays the whole quote upfront, I get the deposit portion immediately and the remaining balance is processed to my bank account after the date of the event. You can even set your own cancelation and deposit policies!
She mentioned charging under $100 for an hour at a party where she did no makeup for the kids and didn't read a story to them. She simply took photos and stood there. But that's all I know.
