Justin i am 66 years old, i have been hunting all my life. daddy taught me from birth almost, LOL, we would slip through the wood's deer hunting. he told me it should take me an hour to walk 100yds. what i do deer hunting i walk, sit at a spot 15 min. get up move 50yds or so, sit for another 15min. and do it all over again, i have killed an untold number of deer like this. it works for all game as well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Good tips. It''s hard to be quiet when it's dry. Hunting after a good rain shower is always fun. You can hear the rain drops falling when the squirrels are moving.

@@larryalexander4833 Turkeys do like that kind of weather. I don't know what has happened to the turkeys here. At one time, there was a flock of about 50 down the road. I haven't seen but maybe a dozen lately at most.

Looks like you had a purdy good mornin of it. That was nice that them wood ducks let you film em instead of flying out of there at Mach 2 like they would have done if you was duck huntin. It was good to see Bambi and the crew, too. Mr. Squirrel shoulda kept quiet while you was watchin the deer. His scoldin days are over for good! Appreciate what you do. You make good entertainment for us all!

Justin as good as you shoot with open iron sights you really don't need a scope on your lever action with your left-handed self 😊. You are bad to the bone with that lil rifle. Take care my brother, i just might surprise you one day show up with my hog roaster and a hog cleaned and iced down and we might just put on a hog roast for people. Im here in Lakeshore, Mississippi on the Gulf Coast not too far away from you. We might just have to make a camping trip, squirrel hunt and catch some white perch.
I'll be getting in touch with you my brother. Take care and God bless 🙌 🙏

@SpiritoftheOutdoors nothing wrong with the sleep everyone needs rest. Great video awesome tips for all squirrel hunters of every level. Just got my 17 HMR's lil sister the 17HM2 which is a 17 placed into a CCI 22 Long Rifle Stinger casing and the velocity on them are 2100 fps. Still moving along pretty well but not as much as the 17hmr at 2550 fps. So this new round is excellent for squirrel, rabbit's and any other small game it doesn't tear them up like the 17hmr does. Ok, I'll try and post my hunt I just bore sighted my lil rifle going out today to shoot it and sight it in and the good Lord allows me I'll be hunting tomorrow morning. Keep these squirrel videos coming because people love these small game videos. God bless 🙌 🙏.

@SpiritoftheOutdoors Justin I am writing to y’all again on here to ask your prayers for my cousin her name is Heather Marie and she’s in her very early 40s (I believe or her late 30s). Anyway I just found out last night she’s been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer affecting her female system. She has two children and no husband or help. Her children are 19 and 15 (boy and girl) and she’s all they have besides the extended family we all share. She’s scared to death but she’s trusting in God Almighty and is going to be anointed with oil and have the church preacher and elders pray over her when they can get together. But I am on here asking for you and Michelle to ask your church elders and such to also lift her up in prayer and petition to the LORD for a supernatural healing. Our faith is shaking but we know that HE is in control and has the power to move this mountain and tree into the sea. So please just PRAY. We need all we can get. We love her dearly. Thank y’all. Every one of y’all! 🙏🏼Leslie-Florence Alabama

I’ve discovered one advantage to getting older, you tend to move slower. Being patient, slow and quiet is the best way to hunt for squirrels. I usually choose my Ruger .22LR for squirrels. Otherwise it’s my old single shot 410-gauge shotgun. Right now, in the Southern Appalachian mountains early-mid fall is squirrel time. Thank you for taking us along. One question…. The bag that you’ve got slung over your shoulder in this one, what is it and what do you carry with you? - Tennessee Smoky

Went to Delta National last weekend. Stayed Thursday- Sunday. It was so dry. You couldn't sneak on nothing. I hunted dried up creek beds and did ok. The last day i got the bright idea to get out there early where i knew they were nested up. We went out before shooting light. Found a comfortable tree to sit against and waited for shooting light. When light came we were sitting under squirrel city.

Have you ever called them with a hacksaw blade? My uncle and I would go with a 20 gauge or 22. I felt like it took a little more skill with the 22 and of course it was a little quieter. He would sometimes take his sling shot. He could hit a quarter you tossed in the air with that sling shot. Lol, he was pretty bad ass. We didn't fry them often. We would make a squirrel stew or squirrel chili. Good times!!

Ever try just taking a fold up chair with you? What I have found is that you can just sit down take a nap or read for awhile and the squirrels lose their fear and get curious about you. If you don't see anything at first just forget about them for about 15 minutes and they will show up even on the ground and the ones still in the trees will start barking if they know you are there. Take a chair with a carrying strap and pocket for your drinks and sandwich. After about 20 or thirty minutes if there is nothing just move on a little way and do it again.
