Anyone watching Carey’s videos keep in mind that he played a very key role in me getting a 5 on the gov exam. He’s basically Jesus
Hahahaha this man is not a paid spokesman I swear
the Lord's name mustn't be used in vain.
@@FormidableSantiago I’m glad u responded
I know you are happy about your grade but don’t use Jesus name in vain. Carey is NOT Jesus

watching this the day before the 2021 AP Gov exam, thank you for this bro
It's like a monopoly. If there's more businesses competing for the same market, it's less likely for one to take over. If there's only one, they have a monopoly.
So lucky I found this video. Our teacher made us read the original document and it was just a pain in the eyes I cant understand a single word of it😢 Thank you so much😭😭😭
Love it. Using the text to explain these documents is so helpful.
Federalist #10 is probably my favorite government document. I love the way Madison structures his argument, first talking about the causes of factions then the disadvantages of direct democracy and then the advantages of Republic.
I'm struggling in AP Gov and these videos have been saving my grade 😹😹
Sweet!
A large republic is the best way to control factions and prevent majorities from oppressing minorities
thanks for helping me pass the ap gov test, mr lamoney
This was exceptionally explain, I hope this channel goes big!
Thank you so much for making this! Been looking for a comprehensive video about Federalist #10 like this for a long time. Cheers!
P.S. I see you on Harvard campus in your profile pic. Nice! I’m at Harvard College. 🤘
Also, I see that you have Infinite Jest in the background of your video. What a masterpiece.
@@l-atkins Yes!!!!! DFW = GOAT

OML I have been binging these videos for my ap government test. I actually know what's going on now, thanks so much!
A large republic is the best way to contorl the neagative effects of factions

Thank you sir. Best AP Gov. content maker out there. If you guys want to secure a 5 on the AP come watch these videos.
Thanks!
A large republic is the best way to control the negative effects of factions AND protect minority rights while maintaining majority rule- Thank you!
Majority rule sounds like democratic mob rule. Tyranny of the 51%
AYYYY lamoney production out with a new vid! Copped that JUICY 5 last May btw thanks to your phenomenal reviews and livestreams!!!
Awesome, congrats!!!
Just here to say thank you for helping me to get a 5 on ap exam at may😃
Congrats!
You saved my AP Gov grades. Thank you!
Yay! I got you all year!
i LOL'ed seeing all those books behind you and then the lone FF7 physical copy. Awesome video!
the solution for factions is more factions through a larger republic. The various (non-majority) factions will compete with one another's interest thereby preventing the genesis of predominant faction.
8:35 I think it might be a large republic
Very cool. Thank you for annotating and explaining it so well.
Thank you for these vids! You’re so good at explaining different concepts!
The answer is to have a larger republic in order to help alleviate the affects of minorities as it is not realistic to try and get rid of them
Blessed for a great teacher
"Violence of Factions" hmmmmmm
Thanks so much for this video, it was very clear and helped me understand this well!
To what extent do political parties represent the factions Madison warned against in Federalist 10?
Political parties are certainly a type of faction, since they are groups of ppl with some common goals coming together for some purpose. The type of negative factions that Madison sought to control, though, were unified by interests adverse to the rights of others or society more broadly. So are parties an example of a faction? Definitely. Are parties the negative faction that Madison is warning us about? That's probably up to you but I'd say usually probably not.
@@CareyLaManna thank you for your answer 🙏
This guy is spitting facts
Grace and Mackenzie say that a large republic is the solution for factions because it allows majority rule and minorty rights.
Grace and Mackenzie are real ones
I have been learned
Commenting for my friend Algor Rithm
Still giving your vids a like to this day 👍🏻
Thanks!!! Much appreciated!
Never misses
I’m going to stop praising democracy, and instead extol the virtues of a constitutional republic.

totally unrelated to the video but, Bryce canyon is very beautiful!

Awesome Video!
Great video!
great video!!
Very helpful :)!

I think the founding fathers didn't take the super rich into consideration. Or that Citizens United would become a thing.
Geat video!!!
so cool!
i physically printed out the doc and highlighted the parts that you were talking about, writing notes in the margins. You are jesus christ !!!
thx g
Not so fast, the reason for many factions is diversity of opinion, and the size of A republic might not, reflect wide diversity.
Diversity creates problems of its own when the needs of significant factions are not met, and such a rift was clearly demonstrated in the US civil war.
The separate unifications of agricultural vs industrial confederations may have obviated that conflict.
Smaller homogenous realms may be very peaceful , so as much as I admire Hamilton, Fed10 is really a weak argument for preferring a single federal umbrella.
We currently have two broadly based super factions of similar scale ,that span the continent ,and possibly beyond. This is the worst case scenario, and in such a state it's often apparent that division along those lines might be advisable.
Civil wars are protracted and brutal , the militaristic European history may be as much a reflection of diversity , so the combination of diverse factions under an ill advised common banner is no guarantee of harmony.
There are in fact many small states which are not fighting amongst themselves or with others.
The Confederacy was a reaction to the election of Lincoln who was opposed to the expansion of slavery into the west, not necessarily the existence of slavery in the south. I imagine two competing republics instead of one government would have just gone to war sooner and continued to fight, and might be fighting to this day. Imagine what would have happened in the 20th century without a unified United States. It’s a frightening thought.
good
Easy on the overwhelming praise, it's just too much!
January 6th insurrection is a good example of what faction that Madison warned against.
Large Republic

@@oscarheller4510 Oh wow reading it for school??? That's ambitious lol. Yeah, it's definitely a work that you have to fight and struggle with, but if you stick it out (admittedly a huge commitment) I think it's extremely rewarding

Probably my favorite line in the essay
THIS HAS BEEN A LAMONEY PRODUCTION
Understood more through within 9 minutes than I did in 45 minutes of us discussing the article 😂
I wish my teacher explained concepts so well. Thank you!
in federalist no. 10, james madisons solution to factions is a larger public. he argues that within a smaller public, there is less diversity in views and ideologies. in a smaller group of people, oppression of the minority is more prone. however, by having a larger public, there will be more factions, diluting the power of each one. more factions means less power within each one because there is so many. federalist no. 10 acknowledges that factions are inevitable, but the only realistic way to control them is to have a larger public
Thank you for this video on Federalist No. 10! It was extremely helpful to have sections with certain quotes broken up and explained.
why does he look like a modern founding father tho
Thank you so much for this video! With online learning, it is hard to understand concepts. I will definitely be using your channel for the AP exam. Thanks again :)

The solutions is more factions or a larger republic!
