- If Fishing The Great Barrier Reef wasn’t amazing enough already! We came across this SINKHOLE while searching for new ground to fish.
Come join us for a day of reef flats fishing and see what we find in the depths of a Sinkhole.
At the end of this episode we take you back into the Tackle Room to give you a run down of the “Stand Out” gear for the trip.

Good fun for sure. I had to laugh when at 12:25 you mentioned the "insane" amount of water movement with a tide of +3.3 to -0.1 metres. I live in Nova Scotia Canada, we have the Bay of Funday at the bottom of our garden, we get tides of up to 17 meters twice daily, more water moving into and out of the bay than all the rivers of the world combined, now THAT is an insane amount of water. But yes you do have to respect tides and water movement, good on you for mentioning it.
Oh geez haha our tides are way small then 😂… for the outter reef they were quite big but our inshore tides can be around 7m at times which is huge for us ! Haha how do you even deal with trying to fish 17m of tide ?? Wow
@@willandmaryoutdoors8645 The fishermen here have huge respect for the tides, there are a few ferries in the area some actually travel sideways in the worst areas. If you get the chance check out "The old sow" second largest whirlpool in the world created by very fast tidal movement passing Deer Island. Super impressive to stand beside it and watch as billons of gallons of sea water swirl around, the vortex of the pool is about 250 feet across the water beneath is about 400 feet deep. And this is at the end of the bay with a low tidal range of only 7 metres. At the other end things can get interesting with boats arriving and being tied up at high tide, leave the lines too sort and you come back to a boat hanging fro the dock in mid air.
Typically BRILLIANT, and some awesome fish to boot.

What a great experience! I really enjoyed watching this. Would be awesome if you released the fish back sooner instead of talking to the camera with the fish in hand @ 19 minutes. I wouldn't want to be holding my breath for 1 minute after running away from a predator!

Cheers from the states! You guys are by far the best fishing channel on RUclips, keep up the great content! It’s always amazing to see the parallels between your fishery and ours. I have really been pushing the squidtrex on our local fisherman from watching your videos and it’s really catching on! I can confirm our snapper and grouper eat them just the same! If you ever make it state side feel free to hit me up and we will get you out on our reef fishery!

5000 series reel is not light tackle for. Fish that small,
Light tackle for me so when I caught a bull drum on a 3000 size reel
It’s light tackle for where we fish out there haha !! We do have 3000 size reels that use for freshwater bass etc but they won’t stop the small reef dwellers around structure 🤙🏽

Good video well done ...however please return the fish to the water QUICKLY. The fish are virtually dying from lack of oxygen as you hold them and start spruiking. You are not the only offender as most RUclips fishers do this ...I pity the magnificent fish you pull out of the water which are getting brain damaged while you speak to the camera?? Just a suggestion please ...Cheers.
