@@mxengineer1 I loved that bike, took it anywhere, any terrain, never failed me. Also extremely comfortable bike to ride all day long. Thanks for the videos, I was able to show my girls the bike Dad grew up on.
@@numbersletters3886 Glad you enjoy the videos! I like getting the chance to ride older bikes - brings back nice memories! I really like my 1987 CR250 too!
I have been fortunate to get to spin laps on some cool vintage bikes. Always fun to go back in time! I learned to ride on a Honda 90...you have some skills if you learned on an 86 CR250!
@@davidleasterlingjr2038 Has not arrived yet. Tomorrow I am supposed to ride my buddies '22 CRF450R that is dialed in with full Ohlins suspension, FMF exhaust, and Ti motor mounts. I've ridden it with the Ohlins last fall but not with the new engine mounts and exhaust....maybe a working man's CRF Works Edition!
@@mxengineer1 it's a weapon like you said. My buddy has one. Hope you enjoy yours. BTW, how did you score a factory ktm 250? I didn't think they were available to the public.😎
@@davidleasterlingjr2038 Yes I did get a new 22.5 KTM 250 Factory Edition and have about (4) hours of use so far. Really enjoying the new FE... ruclips.net/video/i7DqLk_A0EA/видео.html
I had a 1987 CR250R that I regret selling - low hours original like new condition....that was a very good bike! I enjoy riding the CR500's but don't enjoy kick starting them!
Did the back to back ride with a buddy of mine and going to post the video on his channel...I'll post a link here and in the description above when the video is finished.
86 CR250 engine is still a fun ride today! Nice change up to your new 300XC TPI....fuel and oil injection and plenty of smooth quick revving power. I have owned a few 300XC's but most recently been on a '21 300 Erzberg (PDS). Fun bikes!
@@mxengineer1 I'm loving this thing. I'm currently restoring an 89 cr250 now. I might flip it but I do miss my 86 and wish I didn't sell it but the crazy market price gave me no option on that.
@@TroyCollier 89 CR250...first of the upside down forks (if I recall correctly) and everything was red too. Seems like old Honda dirt bikes just keep going up in price
@@mxengineer1 yes first upside down fork.. But aparently they were absolutely atrocious. Lots of guys swap those out. Funny cause they pretty much perfected the old cartridge fork at that pint.
I grew up on an 86 CR250, best trail bike I’ve ever ridden, absolutely loved that bike!
You are lucky to have had a CR250 to ride growing up! The '86 CR250 is still fun to ride today!

Absolute Gorgeous Machine. I just collected my 1986 CR250r in Mint Condition.
I can't wait to get out on it this weekend 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪 25/1/22
You are a lucky guy! The 1986 CR250R is still fun bike to ride today! Enjoy your "new" bike...Ride Red!
My pops traded a shadow racing go cart for this. He came home and said look what I picked up. It was the meow back then. Brings back fond memories
You gotta a great Pops if he brought home a CR250 for you!
@@mxengineer1 did you get your WE 450 yet. What do you think? That thing is sick. I was at the honda shop looking at one too!

Had an 83 honda CR 125. Did things with that bike that it was never designed to do. The eighties belonged to the "Red machines"
Honda was a dominate team and bike in the 80's!
My dream bike 85 cr 500 but I wouldn't mind owning the 86 250 either
