I didn't "Blame" the father either; only pointed out the obvious; even with modern technology; child birth is a deadly ordeal for both mother and child.
Yes I've gone through the loss of a family member through child birth; at no point did I or my family blame the child; the father; the doctors or the mother; we were grateful the child survived as we could have lost both.

It is one part misplaced grief, and another part superstition. It is in the same family as "bad blood," where there is a belief that sin and consequences are hereditary and genetic.
You can also find these examples in old westerns, where "it must be the boy, his father's a theif, meaning he was born a thief" and in modern day where people blame their family traditions (such as gambling, adultery, being a thug) to excuse their own poor life decisions, as if they didn't have a choice.
However, I will give a bit of slack to the "you killed your mother" trope, as back in those days, nobody really knew why some women died during childbirth. So they started out grasping at straws, where later examples would have a cause and effect to consider.
I actually met someone who had this happen to him, His mother died giving birth to him and his father hated him and gave him up for adoption. even in his death bed, his father rebuked him for the death of his mother, even though as a child he was innocent of any intentions, and that he needed his father but even though his father knew all about that, he still couldn't get it out of his heart that his wife's death was due to his son's birth. Fortunately he was adopted by a fantastic family who were a million time more family to him that his father who gave himself over to bitterness and hatred. He failed to see that his son was the only thing he had left of his wife and that they wanted to have a child together and that his wife would have been horrified at his hatred of his own son, the child from his beloved wife. This is a evil heart misplacing their grief and turning it into hatred. only evil people do this kind of thing. I cannot see how any parent could blame an innocent infant for the death of his mother, and if anything, it would be the doctors who failed the mother in preventing her death. but even then there is only so much medical science can do. It is, however, an extremely rare thing to happen, because first off modern medicine can catch almost all dangers to the mother and the baby now and prevent them, and secondly most of society is sufficiently educated and enlightened to realize that if a mother dies in Childbirth it would likely have been not the birth that was the problem but a previously existing condition that threatened her life and was responsible for the death. It can happen but most time there are enough family around nowadays that they can help the surviving spouse to work through the grief and let their love for the baby shine through and that the child is the greatest gift a spouse could ever give to the other before their death. and as long as the baby was alive, she was alive as well.
we're talking about the same bright individuals that blame the woman for not giving birth to a boy, like they have a choice in that. and in alot of those cases the woman hate her child because it wasn't what the guy wanted. it's easy to pick a sacrificial lamb to carry your faults. that's the unfortunate truth. btw there are still men out there that think woman can choose the birth sex. xD fucking crazy right?

Hell, I'd say she tormented him a lot more than his family did. She literally wanted to enslave him, so who's to say he won't just kill her on sight? Honestly her best option would be to offer herself to be his "Dog" given what she said to him just before he was banished.
That seems to be a regular thing in recent years. Authors writing stories where there was an Evil romantic interest who tormented the MC, and said MC is stuck dealing with the instincts developed by the abuser.
Makes you wonder what the authors have either dealt with or witnessed to come up with that kind of plot. Like it's not even an affair or anything, it's always psychological abuse.

If Ellis came to him, begged him to come back to her, offered to become his servant or his dog, it would just make her look even more pathetic and desperate.
She should just accept that she's lost him for good. But we know she probably won't.
She feels 'apologetic' for how she treated him, but I doubt she'll lower herself to become his 'dog'. Chances are she'll probably go back to the kingdom dejected and that's when the kingdom will probably try to exterminate him as a threat. Remember, her father is planning to usurp the throne. He needs the engagement between his daughter and Crest in order to succeed. he could chose the other brothers, but as we've seen, they're not really as controllable as Crest *was* , so he's not going to let Crest go that easily.
I mean...by the time they come to even TRY and get him, he's quality of life is higher than theirs, and he has little to nothing to tie him to the upper world(And later that will become nothing at all, as the only two people he cares about join him). So you can't even offer him anything that might tempt him.
At the end of the day, Crest has basically carved a nice little life for himself out down here, and up there? Even if he wanted it, the other nobles are showing off they aren't much better. Sure, they'll suck up to him NOW, now that he has something they want, but none would lift a hand for him back then, and even the apology of his former fiancé isn't really something he desires.
And that is one of the reasons I like this one. He's not misanthropic because a single person was mean to him, or because he hit a rough patch in life(or rebirth). He's like that because the people above him showed they don't care, and even those beneath him showed they would not defend him either, even the church.
So...what do they have to do to get him back? Well, not this, and it WILL get worse before it gets better(I read ahead though I thank MangaCapped for sharing this one, as I hadn't seen it before). Even more damning, by the time the King finally begins to realize something's going wrong, it will be far past the point of being able to fix this with a title...maybe surrendering the whole nation to him, but that hasn't come up yet.
If you want another comic where a main love interest is a hot sadist, "Little Tyrant doesn't want to meet with a bad end" is a must read.

Little Tyrant is one of the best novel I ever read sadly the comic isn't as good as the novel.
First they cut out way too much from the novel
and they also change the name of the royal family from Xeclyde to Heathcliff and Nora to Noelle
And they also make the fight with Roel the noble kids look easy in the comic in the novel Roel was supposed to surprise attack Bron Elric knocking him out and Roel would have to face against Bron gang of noble(11 of them)and hr would come out victorious then Bron would have stab him.
they also cut out the reason why Nora or Noelle is attracted to Roel.
And the reason why Nora is attracted to Reol is because he was different from everybody else.
As a princess she must play the role of a perfect being as to not embarrass her family but Roel was different he didn't try to befriend her like everyone did and kids Nora also thought that she was sick because she doesn't what a sadist is and why does she like seeing people troubled and have urges to step on them with to her is something strange

His torment isn't well delivered in this so it's worth reading if you get a chance. He was so cornered mentally he felt his only way to live was becoming subservient. They twisted him so terribly that going to a literal den of monsters was much better than the den of monsters he lived with every day. His fiance was responsible for leaving him with nobody while his family destroyed any self respect he built for himself. They are such terrible people and his fiance doesn't even deserve another chance in my opinion.
My favorite part, unironically, is that every. single. chapter that I found uploaded that included the fiance the first comment was "Bitch." Nothing else. Nothing more biting. Nothing sympathizing. Just they made a great hate-able character and it immediately just grabbed the bile out of people. That's the mark of a good first impression character design, that even when it tries to give sympathies people react negatively.

I was checking a few sources, because im relearning where manga is findable at over this last week and a half. but the one i stuck with was a variant of mangakakalot im pretty sure with every first comment being "Bitch."
I have a feeling if it continues they will try to make her a better person but not a person he will love. It would be more shocking if she shows up in that area to find him and it doesnt come to him telling her to leave, then it would be to come to blows. Then again the brothers seem to have a real vendetta I'm not certain she will act unless she feels threatened by the goblin princess or something. You never know with those types.

I was on board with this manga at first as I love revenge plots, but then the MC bailed out of “ending” his 2nd oldest brother and then decided he “would be no better than him” if he did so. Such a generic lame hero wannabe line.
I crave “Redo of Healer” or “The Hero Laughs While Walking the Path of Vengeance a Second Time” levels of retaliation. He should have raised a monster army and returned to the surface to “end” mankind and have his ex-finance become the werewolf clan’s “play” thing until they got bored of her then eat her. This is bottom tier vengeance at best.

First if he had killed his brother then the goblins would have been out a stud horse (though given that type of psychopathology tends to be genetic that probably would have been for the better).
Second his fiancee had/has a genuine desire to be with him. She is sadistic and ignorant/blind to what he needs/needed. She's really not that bad (nothing close to his family) she sung his praises to the people around her but she's controlling and insecure.

This is only up to chapter 16.3 on translations. I'm seeing as best as i can tell 26 chapters total as of april and I havent seen any updates beyond that. For people interested who can translate, it seems like the biggest issue is there is no translators working on it now and the original translation individual went back to schooling.
I'd like to keep reading it if anyone has translations of whats out there. Expected chapter time on average is 56 days. Point being its practically abandoned but mostly due to noone putting the time in. I don't know if the originator is having trouble on their home front for appeal, but that must be frustrating to know or not know you have an english reading audience with no way to readily send content out. If it is confirmed abandoned feel free anyone to comment here so we can save others time.

@@jem2719 some are worse then others. I think this situation is worse because its not just, hey im axing cause im bored or i wanna do a new thing lulz. It's potentially not going on because the guy might not be successful in his own country, but is successful outside of it enough to maybe support the idea. But if he can't get financial support to send it out in the first place and the homefront wont provide...its rather tragic.
I worry also because people in Japan for instance like this writer dont often use donation services or programs where people can invest. Kickstarter for example is rarely used there for gaming projects. I dont know enough if its against the law or publicly potrayed as awful to do there, but it saddens me when promising work might be cut short because they have no avenue in their mind...
Again, if someone can confirm if its axed or not that'd be great for everyone in comment section. Or if they find the other chapters that have been published, to please post them to a translation group to at least allow closure. If there’s one trope that I hate when I see these mangas, it’s the bitchy love interest.
It’s all ways the same formula, male mc has a female love interest/childhood friend who treats him like trash, acts all cold to him, and just a terrible person.
Then he leaves, then it’s revealed they actually love him but acted this way for some reason. She regrets only he’s gone and tries to find him.
I honestly hope they don’t pull a bs thing where he forgives her.

he would need a way to go back and forth between the worlds in either case for this to work out. but with what we are seeing here is those who tormented him are getting there just due and all up there. though again its more of out of trying to save there own ass from getting wrecked.

I expect that the reason he started acting "Evil" was a backlash of the "Trauma Switch". He broke free of the trauma but it still left the pain, which then needed to go somewhere, resulting in him finally 'returning the favor'. Hope he stops before he digs his own grave, he seems like a good person and I'd hate for him to end up a borderline anti-villain.

Crest Is what I find to be a somewhat relatable Manga Protagonist. Relatable in the sense of him not wanting anything to do with his betrayers that is.
Think about it, You got treated like garbage for apparently “Killing your birth mother” when you never asked to be born and By your so called “elder brothers,” You got a bitch who has the gall to call herself your fiancé and uses the excuse that “she wasn’t honest with her feelings” for all the sadistic torment she put you through and then get abandoned immediately after not receiving the gift they wanted, How would you feel???
And now because of that balding idiot’s “decision” The upper world is going to go to flames and they lost a valuable asset. @@quihuynh1647 I think the scene you're mentioning is when the MC met God, but that was a premonition and not reincarnation, one that the pope also recieved. My guess is that each receiver of the Gatcha gift are also foretold beforehand so that they can spend a few years racking up points to later use their gift right away.
Our MC told his dad about the gift and, normally, that would entice the parent to speak with the church and learn about the point system from prior receivers. However, as the father hated the boy, this step was never taken.
I remember seeing this same story on another channel, the older brother got dragged off by a bunch of female monster goblins in heat and gave a thumbs up to the tamed goblin,

the princess actually loves crest and is normal in most of her actions but ironically is a dominatrix pervert. she expresses her love by domination acts like that feet licking moment. she doesn't do this with anyone else and she hates anyone else doing it to crest. she hated his family and wanted revenge her whole life. crest nor herself understands what a fetish is at their age so he's gonna see it as bad. especially since it fit in with others being mean.

I never understood the appeal of the whole "I'm gonna treat you worse than dirt, but it's okay because I'm secretly in love with you" trope. 😅
Let's be realistic, even though medieval times could've had bullying like this. There's no way in heaven, earth, or hell that when given an opportunity that you wouldn't take it. I really hate the idea of "I've been bullied for so long, but I will hold on because there is hope." Break or don't break. And half a life worth of trauma isn't fixed by just two shows of courage and loyalty. Anyways yeah that's my only take to a better story, 1) just be realistic in certain scenarios. 2) Don't show a backstory to make them suddenly grow up. Those are almost prerequisites for good stories nowadays.

I agree, it's a super overused trope and I honestly doubt anyone, including Japanese audience could relate to it, Especially with how far it goes.
You really have no idea how extreme trauma can bend human mind, even to the point when you're not able to make rational decisions or any decisions at all out of fear of being punished. You just being there, existing, thinking only of the amount of physical or psychic trauma you will be exposed to today. You're not even thinking about your own survival, only if it's gonna hurt badly. This is not medieval thing. It's happening throughout the world even today.
