I am perfectly fine with it.
I think it's aimed at people buying in a physical store, and they place it next to the Rubik's brand cube. Here in the Netherlands it's one Euro cheaper than the Rubik's, so priced competitively.
It's a good cube, very simple and straight forward, no difficult settings with tensioning, no lube and it has writing in local language on it.
Still cheap, although the original maybe three times cheaper, and the store owner probably makes a decent margin on this.
I would recommend this to parents etc, because it's easy to explain to, I mean I get lost in online cube shops, Moyu alone brought 23 cubes to the market this year 😵💫
in finland it is 2 euros cheaper
I'm glad someone is making a video telling the truth!
As someone who only got in to cubing by seeing a cube for sale while out running errands. More cubes getting in to people’s hands is always a good thing.
I stumbled across this cube as well in stores (france), and tbh I think it's great to have something as good and cheap as a meilong IRL stores !
I know people not really into online purchasing, so it's kinda welcome. Maybe even as a family gift or something.
And for about 10$, it's still half the price of a regular rubik's cube or V-Cubes, while being objectively a better option.
Moyu is definetly stepping on new territory, but if it works, rubik will have a solid contender to deal with in the coming years. We'll see.
In the end, I'll never mind a good speedcube in stores shelves, as long as it remains competitive money-wise.
I don't know why everyone is hating on these cubes. I've had mine for over a year now and am totally happy with them. I bought them at Walmart and paid $8 for the 3x3 and $4 for the 2x2. I like the convenience of availability locally and getting an OK cube at an OK price. If they stocked an magnetic model, I would not hesitate to get it.
They deserve the hate they just copied moyu and rebranded the meilong and made it the price of rs3m meanwhile moyu sell the meilong for a dollar
@@renceonmc681 yeah, but to get it for a dollar, you have to order from China and wait for 2-3 weeks. And maybe pay for shipping too. Here, you can just get it in your local store.
@@L4ngyAge and wait for 2 or 3 weeks. Some people would prefer paying 5 or even 10 dollars but get the cube right away.
@OlgaFyodorova yeah some people are impatient indeed. Time is money, but it's not like you're wasting those weeks anyway. It should be your task to not waste your time while "waiting" for a cube to arrive
Bro there is a magnetic one and it is 25 bucks which is overpriced for a Meilong 3M😂
At the end of the day you're just paying slightly more for a different logo on the meilong. And that's fine with me because I personally find it more aesthetically pleasing than the Moyu logo.
I bought one and magnetized it myself, it's great for five bucks.
If the price is reasonable for the product you are getting, I'd say it's kinda ok. Having a cheaper alternative to the more expensive Rubik's Cube is also not a bad thing. I'd still prefer sellers to be upfront about what exactly they are selling unlike Tony.
These have been showing up in the uk Big Box stores recently when all you have on offer is Rubik brand so I can see the allure for noobs looking at a “speed cube”.
If it says Moyu on it, Moyu is still making money for every one sold, so I’m all for it. Got mine for $6 at walmart
It's fine as long as they're honest about it and the price is reasonable.
However if you look at reviews this wouldn't be a problem. It would only affect unwitting customers, but if the price and quality are right the dishonesty wouldn't really matter, but then if this is the case there's no need to be dishonest.
Can you make a review on the qiyi ms 3x3
I did 3 years ago

Thank you for this video these are popping up in walmarts and target, and I know they are a scam. thx for all speedy uploads too.
They are literally just Meilongs
i got my nexcube from my local walmart
You can get a MeiLong for a buck. Paying the original 10 buck price for a Nexcube is a ripoff.
Pretty sure nexcube is a moyu sub-brand
you are a *bit* late to review this cube. It has been in local stores (even here in Europe) for quite a while.
It doesn't seem like you watched this video. I spoke with the company over 2 years ago and purposely didn't make a video on it back then.
As long as they're not being dishonest - yes it's a moyu cube and it says moyu on the box. No problem. If there are more cubes stocked in local stores, that's great.
In Norway we have a bookstore that sells full meilong series
I think it's good to have an alternative to rubik's brand cubes easily available in grocery stores and walmarts for new cubers to buy and try out or to get new cubers as a gift.
I love how you solve with a slow tps and still get a good time. It shows that you don't have to turn fast to be fast. I see 30+ second solvers turning so fast and aggressive all the time when it's absolutely unnecessary. I will admit that I still turn fast even with a 18 second solve, but I know why, and that's because of inefficient F2L. I get around 15-second solves when my F2L does work out well. If I can manage to get cross and F2L done in 10 seconds, I'll be pretty satisfied. I will try this cube out today.
I got one at Walmart because I was bored and felt like taking apart a cube and just having one that I could use to solve underwater as a neat trick to show everyone. I opened it and realized it was actually quite better than I expected. I compared it to my MagLev Weilong GTS WRM and the RS3M and for $5 it actually kinda compared. Of course it didn’t have MagLev or any other kind of magnets, but it still performed quite well. I didn’t notice this before but seeing it was a Moyu Cube just clicked in my head. I think it’s a great option for up and coming speed cubers when they’re walking about Walmart or any store they go to. I’ve been in love with YJ/Moyu ever since my first ever cube being a YJ Sulong, and I just love seeing the brand or even the name at a huge market chain like Walmart.
i don't exactly know the reason but i hated nexcube from the very start
maybe bcz they paid creators and every content creator was saying it was TOO GOOD while it is certainly NOT.....
oh damn, i guess they really wanna sell them in stores then, cuz i think the meilong is selling online pretty well
Our WALMARTs in Canada have had them for at least a year. I assumed they were junky ripoffs so I never bought one.
Walmart sells the 3x3 and 2x2 and I think they even have a bundle of both.
True
Moyu is trying to drive other makers out of business by flooding the market with very similar products, slightly changed products, repackaged old products, and products that are not exactly innovative or fantastic but fresh and hyped.
def cool, there is value in having a speedcube for a reasonable price in stores. But worth nothing you can get a magnetic meilong for 6-7 bucks online.
We see them in South Africa now as well in Toy stores. Great for someone to get into cubing.
These have been in my local Walmart for over a year at least
They're Moyu's sub-brand
Wasn't this a similar case with the Duncan cubes as far as it being another cube just repackage and rebranded?
Yes, but they were charging up to 4x the cost of the Cube and Not posting the original brand anywhere on the package.
Next video, best speedcubes in 2023 ?
There will be a "mega comparison" in January 2024
Goliath Games is the toy company repackaging these Meilongs as NexCubes.
I don't see anything wrong with that, since they do say Moyu on the package.
What's making these so popular is because they're in so many brick and mortar retail stores now, like Walmart, Target, Meyer, and more, so they're spreading to the general non-cubing public. So that's a good thing.
Hey Uncle Frank :)
