The self portrait is the Spanish painter Velazquez from his painting "Las Meninas". I´ve seen the painting in person in Madrid. Honest, like Mona Lisa, I don´t get it. I mean, the amazing thing is that he´s painting this Royals and he manages to paints himself on it giving the illusion to the viewer that one is in the same room as they are. But I don´t get it. To me, the most amazing painting is "SATURN DEVOURING HIS SON" also from a Spanish artist (Goya) because of how dark it is and because it is Greek mythology related. Both paintings are in the same Museum in Madrid.

Mummies are thought of as rare now, but they were very common before the grossly inappropriate Victorian era Europeans ingested most of them. White people owe so many cultures endless apologies.
