In the start of the video is a great man of God and My childhood Pastor and my Godfather the Late Administrative Assistant Superintendent James S. Lee of the old District #10 from 1950-1985 and special assistant to Bishop J. S. Bailey. Bishop C. H. Mason and Bishop O. T. Jones on serveral occasions wanted him to be an Overseer/Bishop over Jurisdictions in Colorado in the 1950's and Illinois and Ohio. He was also offered a Jurisdiction in Michigan but he stayed with S.W. Michigan Jurisdiction and remained faithful as Bishop J. S. Bailey's right hand man and one of his main lieutenants. He was ordained an Elder in 1939 at the Historic Roberts Temple COGIC in Chicago at the workers meeting by the late COGIC Pioneer Bishop William M. Roberts. Bishop Roberts was Bishop Mason's assistant pastor at one time at Temple COGIC in Memphis and Bishop Mason's best man in his wedding to Mother Leila Mason. Back to Supt Lee. Papa Lee served the historic mother church of Albion, Michigan Gethsemane Temple Church Of God In Christ aka Gethsemane-Temple Cogic in Albion, Michigan 1945-1990. He was also founder of Lee Temple COGIC now known as Lily of the Valley Church in Covert, Michigan 1950-1972 and founder of Greater Open Door COGIC in Kalamazoo, Michigan 1971-1991. He also started a church in Dowajac, Michigan, Flint Michigan and Three Rivers. He also built 2 COGIC churches in Tomato, Arkansas and he Built 2 churches for Elder Pryor while serving as his assistant Pastor in Mounds, Illinois and Villa Ridge, Illinois. He was known also in the brotherhood as a builder of churches. He also built churches and gave them to ministers that we don't know about because he never broadcasted about it. He was a very humble and anointed servant if the lord. He and his wife Mother Rosie Lee was known for running 3 month long revivals (90-120 day revivals). He He was also the 1st assistant pastor of the COGIC Mother Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan known as Tabernacle Church of God In Christ. District #10 had well over 25 churches at one point and was split on many ocassions. Many Superintendents came out of District #10 namely, Supt Non Walker of Faith Temple COGIC now Faith Temple Word of Faith Ministies in Jackson, Michigan, The Late Bishop Fred Cunningham of Penecostal Temple COGIC in South Haven, Michigan, Supt Jennings in Three Rivers, The Late Bishop Howard Thomas in Benton Harbor, Michigan, The Late Bishop William Nichols in Benton Harbor, Michigan, The Late Administrative Assistant Amos Williams, The Late Bishop Flake in Dowajac, Michigan, Bishop Berry in Covert, Michigan etc.... And many many others. This man labored and helped Bishop Bailey towards the purchasing of our beautiful state headquarters Bailey's Cathedral!!! Many people have forgot about Papa Lee but I will never forget this great man of God. Now my father is Pastor of Gethsemane Temple COGIC going on 32 years and served as Papa Lee's assistant Pastor for 10 years and Elder for 15 years prior to becoming Pastor. My father (Pastor Eustice Williams) was ordanined in 1977 at the State Workers Meeting in March by Bishop J. S. Bailey. Supt James S. Lee was not only the administrative assistant to Bishop Bailey but he served as Chairman of the Ordination Board 1951-1985. He was chairman back when the late Presiding Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson was ordained.
