Nice bike man! I too am looking for a touring bike. I will do a tour of Spain as a practice run and then a longer tour to Nepal. I am still deciding between the Kona Sutra of the Surly Bridge club. Too many good options these days for both bikes and luggage. Enjoy your bike!
Hey man ! So I was actually looking for someone to travel from France to Singapore. When do you plan to go to your trip ? I know it’s weird but it’s just so hard to find someone who is interested in such long travels.
@@Dada-cm7xv Hi and thanks for asking. I have no fixed plans as yet but I would encourage you to get going whenever you fancy because you will meet fellow bikers along the way, if not going all the way but part of the way at which point you will meet others. Best wishes and good luck on your travels.
On another note: I also come from road biking background, but I got too lazy to keep riding on my CX bicycle that I turned into a gravel bike. That's why I'm looking at Kona Sutra as my next bike. How did you match the size of the bike to your height? What size is the bike, how tall are you? How does that compare to road bicycles you ride? Those new-age gravel touring bikes have larger reaches (long top tubes) with shorter stems but that is unlike most road bikes. How did you calculate your changes and how does the bike fit you during long long rides?
Could you please advise which size frame this is? I really like this bike and I'm considering buying one that is available but it is only size 52 and I'm 5'10" and think it is maybe too small. Thank you for posting.
3 bar at 40mm, you are a tough guy! I can't ride at higher than 2 bars cause my teeth would fall out! :D Have you ever consider going for larger tires? Nice review, very helpful, thanks.
Hi Diego, nice review! i'm actually want to buy this bike, and i have a question about the size, i'm almost 1,80 and i think i'm between two sizes like, i believe 54 would be ok for me so maybe you have some information about this due to your expérience of this bike? thank you! and regarding you Camino, have you done tha caminno del norte or camino frances ?
@@diogolopescycling Hello! I`m 178cm and 85.5 cm inseam. And I`m looking for kona but I don`t know 54 or 56 size. And I like shorter ETT, but for my tall is handlebar will be at the same height with saddle? For more comfort. Thanks for your answer
Super bike! I want buy the same... can you tell me the size and you height. I'm 1,76 cm and interior legs 82 cm.... I think the right size is 54, what you think
I got this bike about a month and half ago done 670 miles on it, a fantastic comfy beautiful bike, im 5'8 and have the 52 frame its perfect and the only modification ive made to it are adding a rear rack and an suntor NXC suspension seat post and its like riding on a cloud paired with the brooks.
@@diogolopescycling Cheers👍🏻....difficult decision for me though....the charts say a 54cm for my size....but I feel I should get the 52cm as I will be doing at least 60% on gravel (i spend a lot of time on the camino in fact 😀) ...The size 54cm might be better suited for a majority of road riding....But maybe the 52cm (for a 181cm - 82cm inseam) might be cramped?......Difficult decision as I have a long torso and shorter arms and legs....I need to find someone who's a similar 'circus-freak' to me to know........eeesh 🤦🏻♂online bike purchases / sizing is a mine-field 💣
Hello friend, I am 172cm height (think that is 5 foot 7) and not sure I'd 52 or 50 is my correct size. Just rode the 50 today, which actually felt fine, but I still had the feeling of riding a somewhat small bike, although the reason for that could be, that my previous bikes (54) were too large. I ordered the 52 and can compare them in a week. There is no big difference in reach, but nearly 2cm top tube. The bigger frame could not be made smaller due to the short stem already used. With the 50 I had the feeling my feet were somewhat close to the front tire. Have you got any advice? Would be much appreciated.
@@Enlil-mj3wc i am the nearly the same height as you - 173 cm.. which size did u end up with in the end, and how do you find it? If I use a calculator it says I must use size 52 also. Cheers
@@TheScatman89Hi, I first tested size 50. The guy in the store said the size was good. However, I was not sure and ordered the 52, on which I felt more comfortable as the position I'm in on the 52 is more upright/comfortable especially when riding in the drops. I like this size and riding is super comfortable (the 50 would have resulted in more of a racing position, which I was not aiming for on this bike). I don't have much clearance to the crotch area, but the reach is definitely not too large, I could even get a longer stem and still be comfortable due to the short stem the bike comes with. So all in all I'm comfortable and happy with 52. If you can, try both :)
Caminho da Costa from Viana do Castelo to Pontevedra and from Pontevedra to Santiago, did the Via Espiritual. Really enjoyed the experience and want to do the original Camiño Frances from Saint Jean de Pied de Port next year or so.
I brought mine in July and absolutely love it mate!! very coumfy :) awesome review
Cannot wait until tomorrow- I am picking up a used one. Beyond excited!
Enjoy it! It is a great bike.

Should be good enough. I am the same height and it fits great
I sold Kona. One of my favorite bikes. Also , a steel frame lover
It looks great and feels even better when riding!

Why Kona don’t put holes underneath the rear brakes for a kickstand. Any bike with racks should have them.
Hi Diogo. A great review.
Super bike!! Can you tell me the size and your height. I'm 1.76 and 82 cm interior legs... Size 54 I think is my size.... But I'm not sure
I am 177cm and 74cm leg size. For me 52 is my perfect size
I'm a short person.. my height is 165cm and I'm not sure if this bike has a smaller that fits to me.. But all I say, it's a beautiful bike..
I don't really know. You can see it online of konabikes. They have the sizes of all the components. Maybe that'll help
Highly recommend the 48cm frame for you. I’m 165cm and find the 50 a bit too big

Yes, 54 should be ideal for you.
I've done caminho da costa, from Portugal, and a turn to Via Espiritual, from Pontevedra to Santiago.

What size frame did you choose for your size? Did you compromise on any sizes moving from your road bike to this trekking bike?
It is a 52cm frame for 177cm, 5’9. I had no problem with size adjustments

Personally i would ride the 50 and a longer stem, because I like shorter frames. I guess the best way is to try both if you can and see how it goes.
