  • Usually TPSM SENSOR batteries life in 8-10 years, if replace the all sensors price is very expensive. My way is to replace the sensor batteries and only spend no more than $ 20 to buy a new batteries. Do not need large tools, do not need tire balance, do not need sensors program.

I just did my 2010 Lexus RX450H, and the sensor is exactly the same one. A few tips:
    1. Those 2 black pins there are not screws, they are just plastic pins holding the cover.
    2. The cover is flexible plastic that you can just pry open using a flat screwdriver.
    3. The gels are pretty easy to scrap, they are pretty soft.
    4. I find it very hard to solder back the battery pins if you solder out the old pins. I would suggest not solder out the old pins, just cut them off, then solder the new battery pins back to the old pins.
Very good guide, and Thanks a ton, @Jack Zhang!

I think I will just put a piece of black tape over the light and use a pressure gauge. All that money I spent on the new care and all it does is show a warning light. The car's computer sees the tire pressure but it doesn't display the tire pressure for the driver. What good does that do? I want to see the actual pressure and be able to see if it starts to drop rather than it saying "Oh, by the way one of your tires is flat and you are out in the middle of no where." With an actual tire pressure display I would now if I'm about to have a problem even before I out of my driveway.

You can buy an aftermarket screw on (top of valve) tire pressure monitor system from eBay for roughly twenty bucks that shows you the exact tire pressure and temperature of every tire. It's solar-powered and awesome!

So i saw how you soldered the top, how were you able to solder the bottom contact?
Also how is the best way to test it out without installing it back into the wheel?

I have a multimeter and tested both ends of the chip if they get 3.0 volts. besides, the vehicle responds differently to low pressure vs no signal so you could start the car without installing to check

are your batteries still working that you got from eBay? I ask because I've had bad experience with eBay button cells in the past. It wasn't any big deal then, but for this application it would be a pain in the rear to have dead batteries put in. another words, are these batteries that you purchased from this seller still working? also, I just got off the phone with batteries plus and just an FYI the BR battery is supposed to be able to handle higher temperatures. Which makes my question even more important. Just thought that you and anybody reading this might want to know the difference between a BR and CR. Your fast reply would be greatly appreciated.
