- Genesis X was truly the tournament of all time, and this time I MEAN it! This past weekend in San Jose, CA, the iconic Genesis series celebrated its 10th anniversary with one of the most insane Smash Ultimate tournaments we've seen in a long time. Here are my reactions to some notable sets and upsets that happened on days 1 & 2, featuring big names such as Miya, Gluttony, Kola, Bassmage, ESAM, Raflow, VoiD, Riddles, Tweek, and more!

Tweek riddles was a violation
Exam double zipping up is definitely box tech and he's even said so. It is almost harder than Fram perfect because you have to be holding up for the first one then let go for neutral and hold back up within a frame to input it on GC controller. Exam spent like over 30 minutes trying it and finally got it once on GC.

4:40 as a box player, box mashing is a little less intuitive than you'd think. most of us use second input priority on the analog buttons, which means that if you hold right and press left after, the left input will override the right. so basically what you can do is hold up and left, then mash down and right at different times to get a new angle on most frames. it's way quicker than a gcc mash though so idk why he died here lol

Somehow I feel like tweek is doing better this year than 2023. Tweek said he had a problem with his hands which may explain why he is doing so well in the tournaments that he’s entered so far this year compared to the last year.
Anyone else wishing the volume was a tad higher for Marss's videos?

4:36 esam stops mashing at some point, if you look at the indicators, they disappear and then appear again right before the hit.
He probably thought he mashed enough and started doing normal inputs.
With the c stick reset tech mashing out of that would have been possible for 98% of elite smash players, change my mind

genesisgg_2 and genesisgg_4 on twitch. I also hate how hard it is to find the frikkin' streams for these smash tournaments, I'd watch so much more if I they were advertised better.
watching sonic at tournaments makes me sad EDIT!!! I have NO problem with sonix, its the other sonic players that piss me off
I feel like people over exaggerate how bad it is. I honestly don't even think sonix is that boring to watch, he still engages a decent amount the time and camps(which still definitely isn't fun to watch, unless it's the last 45 seconds and it's close), but unfortunately I will agree with you when watching ken or wrath especially who just never engage
