The volunteer lifesavers are really good. No pay for rescuing people's lives. We really should appreciate them more!!!
Sinead Ni Cheilleachair well they still require high standard training. Not everyone needs a pay check , some people simply like the sense of responsibility and heroism
@@Spray_UK Its mainly the city beaches that have paid lifeguards all the time. When you get out of the cities the clubies patrol beaches on the weekends and council lifeguards during the week and they use all the same facilities and equipment.
They deserve a part time pay
@@foodicalypse we do surf life saving in order to be able to compete in events and plus there are things our clubs supply is with in return for our time. Plus it’s just fun

Chiya It's absolutely not a waste if time. There may be only a few lifeguards on some days so extra help if really appreciated. People just have a good heart to try and save people without getting paid. Life > money.
@@chiya9644 Do you understand what a volunteer is? Not everything is about money. Blue lifeguards=paid pros, red & yellow= volunteers.

Always wanted to be a lifeguard ♥️♥️ just to go out there and risk your life is amazing and i can't get enough of their work. Even the clubbies helping out when they don't get paid is amazing!

I always get a little emotional when I see people who are either the clubbies or just other beach goers helping people in trouble. I don't know why, it's common decency to help out, especially in situations like that.

You could always become a “clubby” at a surf club. I patrol in Perth, Western Australia and it’s always a ton of fun and busy!

Out in the water in full clubies gear, no hand signals to anyone on the beach ( clubies always travel 2 twos) and struggling to keep control of his board ( the board is always nose to the waves on arrival to a patient or multiple in this case). Im all for supporting the Bondi surf club and had been a member for 10 years and patrolled for 4. Rough rescue and one that should be shown to educate what can go wrong

Poor effort from the paid lifeguard to not notice the volunteer lifeguard who was out of his depth there with multiple people to rescue. He’s lucky the volunteer did well.

I know they mainly handle the less serious things but it might be cool
They handle the exact same things. In most beaches there are no paid lifeguards here and the clubbies handle everything!

I almost drowned In a bath(I had a sleeping tablet personal so don't ask) and I was wide awake when I got in and I fell asleep then about 30 mins later I was blue my mum came in after calling and woke me up so you can drown in little depths
