      Always remember that hurricane forecasts are a prediction of the number of storms expected to FORM, NOT anything more than that such as their track and impacts on the USA. Last summer was a great example, as most avoided the USA completely, staying out in the Atlantic.

      Who is saying they did not? You need to be 'in the loop; fist of all to receive such alerts - do you own a weather alert radio? That is a DIRECT line to the NWS. I have a couple radios, just to make sure. Up here in Dallas they have gone live on the NWS radio when we had a tornado a few years back. They broke from regular programming.

    • @vade137
      @vade137 26 дней назад +1

      @@Froblackistani Not really, you just need to watch the weather over a few of your local NEXRAD towers. When a storm system is passing over a NEXRAD tower it can be energized and turned into a super storm, and if you are anywhere 50-100 nautical miles within that NEXRAD tower then you will get a bad storm. So, just find your local NEXRAD towers and watch the radar over the NEXRAD towers and you will see if storm systems are energized or not...if energized, prepare for a bad storm.

    I live in Cedar Rapids, IA and this reminds me of the August 2020 Derecho. That exact type of Transmission Tower collapsed exactly like that, and the manufacturer of the tower was contacted, and that exact tower was made to withstand winds of 140mph. That's how they determined winds of over 140mph hit that particular part of town. Houston was definitely hit by what would be considered a Derecho, if it actually traveled the distance necessary to be considered one.

    Those are transmission lines. My cousin works in energy and said it's millions per tower to fix but the bigger cost is interruption. He said lead times on those tower can be 6-12 months and require multiple cranes, helicopters and lineman. This is not an easy fix. If you dont have power now it may be a long time before you do.

    The act of shooting down a drone can indeed be considered a crime. Under federal law, a drone is classified as an aircraft. Therefore, damaging, destroying, disabling, or wrecking a drone could result in federal criminal charges under 18 U.S.C. § 32, which deals with the destruction of aircraft or aircraft facilitiesSome drones can see through walls using imaging technology like radar or thermal imaging. These technologies measure the energy emitted or reflected from objects or people, which allows them to locate them and take photographs on the other side of a wall.

Every time there's wind we have outages... Cold weather.... outages. Hot weather.... outages.. you can actually look up independent reviews of the quality and maintenance levels of Texas utilities and they are far below the average for the US. I paid the same rates per Kw in Hawaii with 100 times better service. In 13 years I had 2 power outages and both were resolved within 8 hours. This is the third 24 hour outage in 6 months. They need to stop paying 37 million dollar salaries and start investing in a better grid and support systems. Lobbying and privatizing have destroyed a majority of infrastructure in the US and voters are getting really tired of it
