When I got mine, it was tech tree tank. It had way better pen with Hesh but only carried 12 shots. When they replaced it with Badger, I was happy they let us keep them and made them into something that we can rotate crews into for free.
The FV215b 183 is my favorit tank to play. Initially I didn't know what to do with it when I got it back then as part of the auction. I had bad games after bad games. But I learned to play with it, and I must say, this thing will make your day and will cause significant damage to the enemy if you're patient and you make count of your shots.
This is a crazy tank I've been saving up Free XP and Credits now in case it comes around. One big reason why I didn't buy the Vickers. I just like the hit-and-miss gameplay more than the boring reliable stuff. ^^

Exactly. 4005's only advantage is good gun depression and those 45 extra degrees of turret traverse. Everything else goes to Deathstar, it can reverse faster while having comparable mobility, gun handling is slightly better and you actually have some armor.
4005 is actually faster forward despite of top speed due to terrible terrain resistance and worse PtW ratio, although yes 215 is better at reversing. -5 gun depression is also way worse. That said, since intuition the best advantage of 215 is actually the fact that people can't easily pen it with HE. While blocking once in a while is nice, 4005 worst problem is that everyone loads HE whenever they see you.

You must be new cause the 183 can block much more than just HE, definitely has blocked multiple tier 10 TDs including Jg Pz E100s, good luck seeing a 4005 do that. More depression for what? Oh and the 15 degrees of extra rotation and better ground resistances with less top speed is supposed to help you so much more when the 183 is a side scraper anyway with better camo lmao. I'd traded in for the XP when WG had that 40 to 1 exchange rate. All of the items on the auction weren't that great, in my opinion. I'd just about given up on the idea of getting anything when the Death Star popped up the very last day. Got it right away, because it had been a tank I'd wanted from the time I started playing. I'm not the best player with it, but I enjoy it... win, lose, or draw.

I was "never lucky" 2 times! First I grinded the WT 100 and they changed it with Grille exactly when I was finishing the grind, then they switched the FVs exactly when I was finishing the grind. Bad timing lol, both times! I WILL DEFINITELY PAY 20 mil credits for this one!

I got this tank for free from the last Black Market with that 5000 gold random drop box they had. This tank is completely cursed for me, I cannot hit anything with this tank even using all the equipment that gets the gun handling down. RNG just will not let me enjoy this vehicle
The DS is indeed a "disgusting" tank. The only question is who it's going to be disgusting for, you or the enemy. Worth it? If you've stacks of credits why not, sure.
You are wrong that it is just armour thats better. It has 0.02 better dispersion which makes difference at those stats and also it has better camo. Fv 183 is better at everything except the turret restriction

You can make crazy builds with FV215b 183. Few fun, but very expensive ones: boosted camonet build, 105 fuel speed build and 0.3 dispersion build.
You really need to play the Imperial marching music while playing the Death Star. I got mine before the badger was put into the game.

Shitbarn got nerfed to the ground. It used to be fast. Now it is a slower and weaker version of the FV215b 183.

Nobody mentions that this tank is actually better than 4005 in every other way besides the armor. Better gun soft stats as well as mobility.

the fv183 aim faster and is a bit more accurate . that make all the difference
