Seventeen is a group that is so damn good with experimenting. You are all right about the hype and energetic beat as well as the change of chord sounds. I think so well too but if you are going to listen to their other so songs since debut it's very different from the other. Like Woozi(producer,composer,lyricist) can definitely make a song from old to new and new to sound classical vibe. And despite having a great number you'd be so surprised about how good minimalist they can be as well. You can listen to their album : An ode title track-fear. You'd definitely can see how it is different from hit but so good still. This group is born to not just change norms in Kpop (which they are now) their music is really interesting to listen because it is evolving continously in each album. They are born to be Musicians and not just Idols.
In Dont Wanna Cry, all of them were main vocals In Getting Closer, all of them became rappers And in Hit, all of them became main dancers. That's our boys aight.
well seventeen is a BIG DANCE GROUP (is the most synchronized boy group in kpop according to computers) so a lot of their music is really hype to match their hyped up dancing. woozi (shortest member and produces all their songs from scratch) is really talented, considering that more than half of svt’s discography is under his name.

I'm a new carat but like songs like "Dont wanna cry" is very melancholic(?), then there's "Home" which is soft and calm, thenthere's this which is very hype. Its so diverse which i love about SVT. Woozi really does his best to create these songs >_
I definitely agree that a lot of k-pop choruses tend to be minimal. I think they make the choruses chatchy and easy to remember, and then make you look forward to the verses rather than the verses just being a filler in between

i came back to this video bc when they first released hit i took it as a sign of a decline in quality of their music, and that 'hypermasculinity' was kinda the reason why i thought that. i always liked the androgyny of their choreos and their more fun concepts. but coming back the choreo after the first "hit sound" of the chorus where the synth really picks up is so adrenaline inducing to me. it's really exciting and i'm glad i learned to appreciate this song also.

I love these type of music like with high level of adrenaline rush and fills one with excitement.
