Because of my wife's extreme allergy to mold, we always look for an Azdel or composite exterior wall. NO LUAN. Anyone know if this material is used by Renegade? My NEXUS has it, but I am looking to upgrade to a Super C.
@@Grandsport12 Yes, Renegade uses Azdel in the sidewalls on all models except the Classic which has a different sidewall technique however still does not use Luan.

I’m in the SF Bay Area (California) but I’ll be taking the quick nonstop on SWA out of OAK to Boise if that’s where you’re located (and if not, then I’ll figure something else out). 😁 I will be selling my house next year and moving into a new Super-C full time. Yup!!! I’m serious. Looking forward to meeting you up there and designing my new home! I’ve waited years to do this, now I have to be like a kid waiting for Christmas as if today is January 1st and it’s a whole year away. That’s okay, I can handle it. Hah hah! How much lead time do you recommend for me coming up for the very first time all through financing (although I might pay cash unless you guys really want the financing done through you like car dealerships do, doesn’t matter to me), designing, building, and delivery? Ever think about installing like a slider adjustment so you slide the dinette table closer to one side of the booth so you can make it "fit" better for using as a desk or if you prefer eating closer to the table?

I see ALOT of Mercedes Actors switches and buttons in that RV, I wouldn't be too confident in that as Mercedes truck quality is not what it once was. I still say a Volvo with the 16L engine would be THE BOSS RV if it was available. Great review as usual.
Are all the items inside the cab standard or is this a fully loaded chassis? Also, the accident mitigation is huge! Going to recommend it on our next trucks we order. Keep your videos coming, hope to have you build one for us soon.
Has a diesel mechanic the dd13 is good but the cascadia 116 sucks has in the back half of the engine is TIGHT to access vs the much roomier 126 cascadia 10 inchs makes a big difference, example the high pressure fuel pump drive side rear of engine. book time 13 hrs add 10hr if it's in a 116 body a lot more components have to come off the gain access to the fuel pump.
I prefer these to class A pushers mainly for two reasons; 1. They are built on real truck chassis and drivelines that are made to travel a million miles. 2. They are much more convenient to use. Remember, the biggest yachts in the harbor are the least used. I want to say to my wife, let’s go to “where ever” for the weekend and not make a big deal about planning, home care, or what ever.

It would be nice to see a construction video of one of these, like the house being built. My hope for my first RV is a B+ 25 foot long to get started. I love the idea, and full time ability of the super Cs, but I am a little afraid of the length. I suppose you just get used to it?
The tandem is a drive axle the tag is not a drive axle, it does help support overall weight. The tag only steers at low parking lot speed usually. If the tag has a dump you can use that to turn in tighter circle also. The bus coach will have a tag also. If you knew this already sorry, most do not understand if the rear axle has an outy belly button it is a tag non drive axle.
How can we best understand the differences in the various Renegade lines - say, Ikon, XL, Valencia, Verona, etc.? And now - Cascadia? For example, when we buy a Valencia, are we "settling" for a lower quality rig, or what? What's a good reason(s) to move up to the "next level'?

I'm just talking about the RV not the combined length of the RV & trailer. I believe that in order for the RV to be RVIA compliant they can't go over 45 feet overall. I know that Showhauler won't go over 45 because they stated that in a video and I doubt Renegade will either.
Check the federal regulations for vehicles and you cannot go over 45 feet on the chassis. Check your state it could have a shorter dimension for state roads. You can google the state and DOT laws and rules and pdf download them.

The torque is limited by the transmission, it would do more than 1850 but the transmission max torque is 1850 that is why it is the same for both engines.
Just over 26 tons, same as Europe for a 3 axle straight truck. Put a big semi dolly coupler on the back and hook up a proper air brake trailer 😉. With a trailer you can gross just over 44 tons?
Normally 80,000 is the max for the combined tractor trailer. Some states allow forestry and agriculture to max 120,000 in winter and Canada has other maximums in some territories. There are also maximum lengths for the tractor and trailer and overall length combined. They do have stacker (2 level) enclosed trailers that use the air brakes.
@@badgerpa9 in Ireland the max is 46 tons on 6 axles and UK is 44 tons but Europe is 40 on 5 axles. There are STGO regs that start at 1-3 in UK that go from 60 upto over 150 tons. There are tractor units designed to pull 250 tons.
@@theworldaccordingtochris4370 44 metric tonnes is about 97,000 pounds. You can get over weight permit and really exceed the normal weight but they require more axles. Bridges have a maximum weight per square inch of tire and if you go over that it is extremely expensive. Freightliner had a tractor with 4 axles that was rated to pull 200,000 but I doubt they do often.

the deer guard (cattle catcher) is on a set of hinges so you can release the pins and it folds down out of the way of hood.. i have one on my freightliner semi.. no probs
When towing these super Cs it seems to me that the overhang is very close to the ground as opposed to a box truck on the same chassis. How do they lift them without scraping?
I prefer this freightliner than a class A rv. But still the safety in the back hasn't improved. Still is a death trap as any RV. Are the seats bolted down with seatbelts, etc. Safety while in motion is still not talked about nor improved upon. Another semi or any drunk driver can smash to the side and will pretty much kill anyone sitting in those couch or will send flying out.
If you are asking about each time you start out on a trip yes you want to make sure the air gets up to pressure in the air tanks. If you do a good safety before you start on a trip you will be happier and save your self problems, it is a big rig. Depending on your state you license in would determine other factors.

Tandem will give a lot of stability and will effect the fuel mileage.

579 isn't any bigger than Cascadia but yes 379 on up is too big for RV. 579 paccard 12spd/auto would make a sweet RV truck!
Volvo does offer the VNR 113 505HP with their I-Shift 12sp for the Renegade or the Show Hauler..

Get an FH16 750hp with over 2,600lbs ft of torque on a straight chassis from Europe.

In most states these are titled as rv’s so no CDL required but some states may require an air brake endorsement.
My Texas RV license is a Class B, 26000 lbs or more GVWR, but no more than 9,999 tow GVWR.

the deer guard (cattle catcher) is on a set of hinges so you can release the pins and it folds down out of the way of hood.. i have one on my freightliner semi.. no probs
When towing these super Cs it seems to me that the overhang is very close to the ground as opposed to a box truck on the same chassis. How do they lift them without scraping?
There is a towing channel in califoracate that has towed a couple super C and showed it, I do not remember the channel, search towing super c maybe.

I prefer this freightliner than a class A rv. But still the safety in the back hasn't improved. Still is a death trap as any RV. Are the seats bolted down with seatbelts, etc. Safety while in motion is still not talked about nor improved upon. Another semi or any drunk driver can smash to the side and will pretty much kill anyone sitting in those couch or will send flying out.
On your coaches with the diesel and the air brakes do you have to do a air brake test on them before you start driving to check the air pressure
No a CDL is not required for most states. Only in Texas do you need a Non-CDL -A. Check with the state where you live.
If you are asking about each time you start out on a trip yes you want to make sure the air gets up to pressure in the air tanks. If you do a good safety before you start on a trip you will be happier and save your self problems, it is a big rig. Depending on your state you license in would determine other factors.

@@TonyBenton0728 In Oregon as long as it is registered as a Recreational Vehicle and not used for hire you can drive it with a normal class C license, no endorsements required.
