As a long time simmer, I'm really sad today. The Sims 4 was a huge disappointment in the franchise and not moving onto something better from scratch is crazy to me. If you only played The Sims 4 it's maybe something you like but for me it's really sad. I genuinly feel like they just announced the death of the franchise today. It's over.

No it wouldn't. Sims 4 is dead. Any game that has "many years to come" is gonna run into problems because it has an outdated engine. Even if the Sims team wasn't too greedy and lazy to fix bugs, continuing a game for 10+ years is never a good idea.

It's the same technology Google uses for Google Lens (previous called Reverse Image Search). - They want to make a Sims social media platform that will also be how you purchase games and DLC. - This move to everything being online (coupled with the announcement of Creator Kits) probably means they want to phase the concept of true custom concept out of the Sims franchise. With the term "marketplace" they are probably looking to make a moderated online store like the Minecraft Bedrock marketplace. This is perhaps the most concerning part of all, and a total invasion of privacy of players. No more Wicked Whims, or any other mods with mature themes.
They're just taking a piss at the people, at this point. The game is in a consistently broken and unfinished state, while they continue pumping it full of paid dlc, and now they're slapping AI on top of it too
So, they're just going to milk the unplayable Sims 4 until we all stop playing out of rage and boredom. Great. They seriously want to celebrate the legacy of the only good thing going for EA by gleefully flushing it all down the toilet. Glad I saved my Sims 3 games.
yea I dont get why they dont have drive able items when mods can easily make them. I have various cars, et flying bike, limo, golf cart, ice cream truck, helicopter and planes and enjoy using them. I keep them out my mod folder except when I plan to use them but they work great tho cars use bike mesh is still fun. better fun with them than what I saw cars used in 2 and 3
EA pisses me off with all the unnecessary updates that messes the game up and all my mods that make the game what it "should've been". Would've been better off getting cd roms of each to not deal with the disappointment

Project Rene and Project Stories will replace Sims Freeplay and Mobile i guess; and project rene will be compatible with TS4. I imagine Project Rene being more like Roblox. And where you can almost seamlessly play BOTH TS4 and Project Rene. Like lots created in TS4 could be placed in Project Renee and vv. Microtransactions will be for Project Rene. TS4 with DLC, certain TS4 DLC (objects and CAS) will be compatible for Project Rene. CC and Mods for TS4 should also be compatible for TS4. The key for the consumer is to play any game in the Sims Universe without almost ever realising there are different games. excl MySims which is for children.

Here I was minding my own business playing SIMS 4 just fine waiting for the next sale so I can buy the Cottage Living Pack and enduring mild glitches here and there. THEN they did the update demanded 12 more GB for the update from my PC just to be able to keep playing, then it broke my game. SIms cant walk through doors properly now, walk through counters, sinks stuck walking in place, commands sent to que instantly disappear infants needs sky rocket yet cant get them attended to, nannies broken, ugh its awful!! SO no not going to buy another pack nor do another update download. Just done...if they dont fix or even acknowledge the bugs their bug fixing update caused that is it for me. Makes me mad how YT also only shows big ea sponsored channels monopolizing viewers options of what we can view. I much rather watch smaller channels playing the game. BUT NOOO they hide people complaining about this fix too. Had to really dig around to find the places where others are complaining of what this update did. LIKE they want people to see it when sale is going on. THAT is just so wrong. SO i will upload nothing but the glitches until SIMS acknowledges this and fixes it!
i agree and disagree. It's not that both games are bad, it's just personal preference. There's fans for a more cartoonish Style, and others who rather have more realism. It's just in my opinion though.

Inzoi hasn't even come out yet and you guys are jumping on that game just because it has prettier graphics but the devs aren't as talented and those animations look janky asf. Even Rockstar Games will have a GTA VI, even when they still are making a lot of money from GTA V they're moving on and creating something new and better. This is just recycling something that is not recyclable, it's shallow and broken. The Sims 5 woul've been amazing if it took the best of each Sims game mixed with a new, strong and yet flexible base. EA is destroying something that was already amazing, The Sims and our community.
