Same. The only one I remotely like are Kornbreads song and ironically jujus song (not really a dance song) an AS5 even though what she brought this time was meh. Maybe also Jantasy but that was such a short snippet that I don’t even remember it really.
Some tea on Janey's performance. She didn't have time to get the outfits fitted on her properly and they were all still in a stage where they needed altercations, and that's why it looked so ill-fitting on her. Also, the song was what it was because BBC told her it was too dirty, so it needs to be low volume to not be heard properly or something like that, and it resulted in her not being sure if she can lipsync the lyrics, which she meant to. Also, Juju had a different dress for the runway, but the zipper broke and she had to wear that as a replacement outfit. But still doesn't excuse her wearing an unlined dress on ALL-STARS!?!?!? This is all based on what Lemon/Jimbo said in Roscoe's.
I appreciated them talking about their friendship. They were totally fine and hadn’t seen each other because they live on other sides of the country. Production being messy again. They also said that queens had to create their songs because the BBC had no rights to other songs. Like Lemon said, “we didn’t have Enya”
I was so confused about Lemon’s placement and the criticism that she received regarding her outfit choice when Juju, Baga, Janet were on the same runway.. And people need to stop hating on these queens and hate on the production… Pangina was given a choice and she did what felt right to her… Lemon, Jimbo and Mo had the best outfits of the night

Well I just remembered why I didn't actually like Lemons performance. She really was hitting those cheer choreography competition dance moves with no gusto. Just blank face and doing the moves. Her arms were not noodly but they were not stiff and there. It was like how you practice before you go onto the stage and you're waiting backstage.
for me janey had the worst performance but i was so much more dissatisfied with everything baga and jujubee did the entire episode that i would’ve put them in the bottom next to janey

@@Commentator541 Manila is not from an older season. Jujubee premiered in S2 and Manila was S3. Either way Manila has always had looks. Juju was never a look queen. I do think she should at least elevate her looks at this point.
I think Pangina judged the bottom based on standards they have on DR Thailand! Contestants are very critiqued by Art and Pangina when they do something the judges already saw from them (a trick, a wig, a move, etc.) and the number was very reminiscent of Aja's, I must admit. Plus, with her experience as a drag queen and a club owner, Pangina has probably seen quite a lot of numbers like Lemon's (no shade). Just my opinion 🤔 Hope Pan Pan wins, she's amazing, she's a sweetheart 💜
I love Jujubee, but gurl... I look more glamorous when I dress up to go to the supermarket. 😂 She really spent all her budget in the previous 8 races she competed in 😔

I'm Black and I didn't even think of Jimbo's face being Black face till I watched this video. It gave me more creature or monster and not caricature of Black people. I bet you anything that the people making a fuss about this aren't even Black.
I don't think Jimbo threw the lip sync, I think she couldn't move well in her shoes, the platforms were massive and on top of being hard to dance in she isn't a strong dancer anyway so she played it safe to not fall over/hurt herself.

What im hating atm in the fandom is the whole ‘its not original’ criticism. Its season 1,469 of drag race, obviously we’re gonna see some things we’ve seen before. We should be judging the queens on their execution of their performances, not based on other people’s. Thats just my piece, i get when something is done constantly without fail like the finale lip sync reveals, but something like Lemon’s performance in this challenge (which we’ve seen ONCE) shouldnt be judged on Aja’s performance. Juju singing for the millionth time is a different story.
Not to mention haven’t we seen every queen lip sync to their own song. What’s the benchmark for when it’s unoriginal. Also we’ve seen janeys performance before. Milk did a similar talent and I think it was Kita Mean who did it on down under

And nobody is pointing out that Lemon landed on a split, as opposed to Aja's dead drop. I can't perform either, but a split from that height looks much riskier to me!
That’s actually a great point because (no shade to Aja, I do think she had an incredible glow up performance on AS3) but when I was watching it for the first time (as a former studio competitive dancer) I thought to myself “oh she didn’t exactly land that right or if so I’m surprised that it was as big of an OH MY GOD reaction because she wasn’t actually doing a jump split from that height” and to be honest what Aja did IS much less impressive and “risky” in terms of the ease in doing it compared to say, Laganja’s superhuman leap jump split from the top of a ladder entrance to be the lip synch assassin that she just recently did on AS6 (I think lol) and that Lemon obviously did in this performance, both of which are way more impressive and less messy for sure than Aja’s.
on jimbo's instagram, she said that she didn't have enough time in between her talent show and runway to redo her makeup, so she painted her whole face black from her eyes/mouth in the talent show. there's an instagram post where she shows the makeup she was going to do if she had enough time, which was mainly white.
Speaking for my people, it's not black face. Black face is as stated, an intentional mocking of black people in a derogatory/racist way through face paint/gestures, etc. Jimbo is CLEARLY a chess piece and they are often black and white. I do agree though that the paint was a bit distracting from what I consider a near perfect runway look. I would have LIVED if there had been a gorgeous beat mug with that dress. It really is like a final runway look that you would want to see last episode. I hope though that she didn't pull out the best for first, because either you really have to have spent a lot of coin to keep that momentum going or everything else might just be meh because that is a high bar for episode one.
I actually thought that the look would have been better with a beautiful painted face as well. The garment was exquisite and I felt the paint detracted from it. I mean as a whole it was still stunning but I think if he was going to paint his face he could have tried something more artistic like how Gottmik paints.
As a Canadian, that first ep was extremely entertaining / stressful! I’m extremely sad to see Lemon go!!!! I feel like she definitely didn’t deserve to be in the bottom!!

in the roscoes viewing lemon says they made everyone do their talent twice and they chose the first take, which personally I would also be rushing through if I knew I had to do that all over again
i'm kinda biased because i'm dutch, so i'm really happy that janey is still in the competition but lemon should not have been in the bottom to begin with
I feel like non-speaking Drag Race spin-off are overlooked by the American audience and this is why I'm rooting for Pangina and Janey. They are the two who have the most exposure to earn from this show. Also, it seems Janey was casted to be set up for early elimination, So I'm glad Pangina (and completely understand why) chosed to save her.
I Will say the whole "no prize money, donating proceeds to charity" thing is just more of a part of british TV culture than it is in america. the BBC is a non-commercial channel so they couldn't afford huge prizes, and if they were to keep the proceeds from the song it likely wouldn't go down well over here. Also charities like children in need are very culturally important over here and they have long standing relationships with basically all of the major TV channels

Ru said a portion of the proceeds is going to charity, not all of it. We don't know what that portion is, so it could even be 10% each to the two charities then 40% each for Ru and the winner queen (I mean, it definitely won't be that - I'm sure Ru will probably have like 50% at least, then the charities, then a little trickle to the winner but who knows?)
I thought it was the BBC with no prize money. It is also a government funded network so having prize money is inappropriate. I guess even with sponsors giving the money people may still get it twisted that taxpayers are funding this show. It would be the same with Canada's Drag Race if it were on the CBC (Canadian BBC). There was a prize for the Canadian Show since it was on Crave, not the CBC.

It was a great episode for the first of this franchise. The judging of course was controversial, which Rupaul is happy about. I was gagged with the elimination, but bummed that the fandom goes rabid over the outcome. I want to see whose lipstick Jimbo had. Plus, curious if this elimination will top Manila's or Shangela's in ratings. Mama is very happy with her new international TV show. 😁
Ru isn't bummed, Ru is happy about the rabid fandom. He just gets paid enough to have someone else help him tune it out. Would be able to help out his Emmy winning employees lol. Like you understand that Ru is an executive producer and has more say than what any regular host has. And he constantly says he has the power as well so why doesn't he make Viacom/WOW. Jimbo actually revealed by the very end of the episode while Lemon was walking away, saying 'I wish I could dance better' implying that she had chosen Janey's lipstick.
I couldn’t agree more with you except for Monique, her performance was not enjoyable. I would’ve easily swapped out Lemon for her, Juju, or Cheryl. Jimbo is my front runner and hopefully can win it so there is some justice for Lemon. 💛
Category is: Red Carpet Eleganza And the winner is Bussy Queen. Every choice in this episode reeks of production choices, except for the lipsync. That lipsync was the Pangina challenge gauntlet. Kudos to Pangina for not only delivering a greaf lipsync, but doing so dealing with a queen getting in her way.
The black painted face gave the look even more impact, especially how the eyes and lip pop. I just wished it had a bit more dimension or black glitter because it looked a bit dull compared to the amazing outfit. Still by far my fav look of the evening!

The only incentive for winning the lipsync is that you won’t create an enemy by having to reveal a lipstick with the name of the contestant who stayed (if the winning queen chose a different lipstick than you).
1. I think Baga should have been in the bottom. Aside from my personal annoyance to her overly milked catch phrase. She was literally singing off beat…to her own song. & her runway was THE WORST on the stage. 2. Blu definitely could not have replaced one of the top queens. Her performance was A+ but like you said that runway was not lol so no way. The only thing we agreed on this week was the fact that Lemon got robbed!! 😩💛
As a British person I feel at almost every point in the season Baga only got by cos they’re British, and it’s UK vs the world, so a producer would say it’s odd to get rid of the only Brit. Should’ve gone way sooner, and Lemon absolutely shouldn’t have been first gone.
I was feeling the same way when Michelle had the nerve to say Lemons look isn’t elevated esp when 1 minute later she praised Janey’s look (Janey looked AMAZING, but that look was arguably not as elevated as Lemon’s esp when u consider the self reference from her pageant runway from her og season)
My issue with Jujubee's dress was that it wasn't even lined! it was just fabric wrapped around in a halter neck. At least line it if we are going to see the underside.
I honestly understand completely why Pangina chose to eliminate Lemon. She was judging the way she would on drag race Thailand and actually basing it on both the performance and the runway and not just the performance. She also did listen to what the judges had to say, and what the judges had to saw was Lemon (somehow) did the worst all together. Personally, I do think production set up this shocking elimination. They knew Pangina would go off of what the judges said and they figured Jimbo would either throw the lip sync or send her sister home so she could be the only canadian queen. It just seemed very produced bc we all know that Lemon didn’t do the worst or look the worst, yet the judges decided to make it seem like she did.

Jimbo did amazing. It actually never crossed my mind as black-face. I thought it was like resurrected queen. I also wondered if Jimbo purposely lip synced poorly. I’m over the talent shows just being lip syncs, even if it is their own song.
Obviously when it comes to Jimbo's "black face" it was painted this way to give contrast to little white lips. Making a thing out of this is nothing else than time waste.
At a viewing party lemon and jimbo said that what originally happened was that jimbo said: "you dont have to worry about the elimination, theres no way im chosing you. you are my sister" and the producers told them there has to be some mistery there.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they crowned Jujubee this time only to have her again on all-winners season 2. Otherwise next is All Stars Galactic / Universal.

I can’t with Lemon being in the bottom-and I love Pangina, so there’s no hate towards them-but Jujubee deserved to be bottom 2 and Janey was the clear chop of the night. Jujubee is one of my absolute favourite queens, but that whole night was just meh… that being said, there’s nothing worth fighting for on this series, so it can play out however but stiiiiillllll
I found this first episode to be really cringey and really hard to watch with the unnecessary shade, lack of international diversity and seeming low budget they are working with.
the unfairness of holland and thailand having to compete alone when clearly these are teams of 2 sans the host, they caught on quick though and seemed to form their own alliance
TBH I probably would've put Jujubee and Janey in the bottom too but I think Lemon was a fair choice. Her performance was really lacking. When you think to yourself "hmm I have seen this before" on a perfomance, it's not good. My winner was probably Jimbo but Pangina was great too.

Finally after all these years people are starting to see that being in the top two on all stars doesn’t mean you automatically win the challenge… like where’s the balance In that, also I remember a conversation after as4 snatch game and Manila saying, “Trinity did so much better than me, BUT for the people on Wikipedia I still won this episode; because she won the lip sync.” Also it’s not like there was never a prize like the ru Peter badges, they got money after they won the lip sync indicating they won the episode and the prize.
Actually on AS2-AS4, being top 2 meant you won the challenge. That's why both top 2 queens receive a prize for winning the challenge. Yes the lipsync winner ultimately won the episode but the other top 2 queen was also a challenge winner. I don't think that will apply to this season tho
I understand that, but I also like the idea of both top 2 technically “winning” the episode, especially for really short seasons like this. With only like 6 episodes having more queens winning per episode makes it way more interesting.
I honestly think she just painted her face black because it was easier given probably the limited amount of time between talent show and runway. And since she had no drag makeup on in the talent show😂
My whole entire thing about this, is if you’re going to do a talent show, I feel the producers should ask the girls to do varying talents. It felt just kind of like a fancier drag show at the club at some points. Don’t get me wrong there were some absolutely beautiful performances, but then there are some performances that I could go to West Hollywood and see on a typical Saturday night

The man was painted BLACK, the COLOR BLACK, the PIGMENT BLACK IE pigment that doesn't bounce light of any color in the visible spectrum; And was thrown to the pits for it when there was never an Indictation or attitude of pretending to be any other race...he was just painted black NOT as a black person Diming black ppl and equating black paint as a 'representation' of the afro race is extremely disgusting and backwards... There is a difference in painting your skin a color and then proceeding to pretend to be part of that race, use their culture to your gains, exagerate their features and or mock them...

If a war vet gets triggered from something that sounds like a gunshot, it doesnt matter to them or the people that care about them that its not actually a gunshot. The point being that white people putting on black (and I do mean black, not just brown) paint has a recent history tied to discrimination and trauma. If black people find that distasteful, even acknowledging that its not the same as minstrelsy in this case, its still distasteful. You become part of the problem when you go around saying "you have no right to feel this way cause its clearly not the same thing as someone pretending to be black." Yea, I disagreed with Pangina's decision but it was hers to make not mine and someone was going to be mad at her no matter what. Either eliminate someone who is adored and didn't do the worst in most people's eyes or eliminate the only representation for a country that she was admittedly close with. It was a lose lose for her. At the end of the day it's not that serious and I feel so bad that people would go after Pangina for something so stupid. She is clearly a lovely person who wasn't being malicious.

I was at the Dutch viewing party yesterday and Janey performed And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going because *spoiler* she didn't get eliminated. I’m a true Jimbo Stan since Day 1 of her work on Canada. Her look was FANTASTIC and while I agree her face wasn’t technically “blackface” it WAS very distracting because I knew others would perceive it that way. Which is a shame because the look is AMAZING.
I still can't get over how genuinely heartbroken lemon was during her bottom placement and subsequent elimination. She KNEW she had not been the best much less the worst so her bottom placement was completely uncalled for. Hoping there is going to be an all-stars format for Canada so she can treat us with another glass of lemonade

Regarding jimbos lip sync. They were in insanely large platform boots and just in general when seeing a jimbo show they put on a performance and aren’t a dancing queen in general. She brings that original experience that the lip sync stage doesn’t allow you to deliver

The BBC is a publicly funded entity here in the UK. Which means that brand deal sponsorships & big cash prizes are a no-no with franchised shows on the beeb. Hence no high stakes for the UK based versions. But Drag Race has been one of the triggers for BBC Three (the “channel” it is shown on) to return as a TV channel rather than an online category. I think it’s great that the queens are still so invested when all they get for winning is bragging rights & publicity. Shows they’re not just in it for the cash.

Some tea on Janey's performance. She didn't have time to get the outfits fitted on her properly and they were all still in a stage where they needed altercations, and that's why it looked so ill-fitting on her. Also, the song was what it was because BBC told her it was too dirty, so it needs to be low volume to not be heard properly or something like that, and it resulted in her not being sure if she can lipsync the lyrics, which she meant to.
Also, Juju had a different dress for the runway, but the zipper broke and she had to wear that as a replacement outfit. But still doesn't excuse her wearing an unlined dress on ALL-STARS!?!?!?

Well I just remembered why I didn't actually like Lemons performance. She really was hitting those cheer choreography competition dance moves with no gusto. Just blank face and doing the moves. Her arms were not noodly but they were not stiff and there. It was like how you practice before you go onto the stage and you're waiting backstage.
I LOVE Pangina, she's incredible and really proving why she's a judge on drag race Thailand.

I think Pangina judged the bottom based on standards they have on DR Thailand! Contestants are very critiqued by Art and Pangina when they do something the judges already saw from them (a trick, a wig, a move, etc.) and the number was very reminiscent of Aja's, I must admit. Plus, with her experience as a drag queen and a club owner, Pangina has probably seen quite a lot of numbers like Lemon's (no shade). Just my opinion 🤔 Hope Pan Pan wins, she's amazing, she's a sweetheart 💜

What im hating atm in the fandom is the whole ‘its not original’ criticism. Its season 1,469 of drag race, obviously we’re gonna see some things we’ve seen before. We should be judging the queens on their execution of their performances, not based on other people’s. Thats just my piece, i get when something is done constantly without fail like the finale lip sync reveals, but something like Lemon’s performance in this challenge (which we’ve seen ONCE) shouldnt be judged on Aja’s performance. Juju singing for the millionth time is a different story.
Not to mention haven’t we seen every queen lip sync to their own song. What’s the benchmark for when it’s unoriginal. Also we’ve seen janeys performance before. Milk did a similar talent and I think it was Kita Mean who did it on down under

That’s actually a great point because (no shade to Aja, I do think she had an incredible glow up performance on AS3) but when I was watching it for the first time (as a former studio competitive dancer) I thought to myself “oh she didn’t exactly land that right or if so I’m surprised that it was as big of an OH MY GOD reaction because she wasn’t actually doing a jump split from that height” and to be honest what Aja did IS much less impressive and “risky” in terms of the ease in doing it compared to say, Laganja’s superhuman leap jump split from the top of a ladder entrance to be the lip synch assassin that she just recently did on AS6 (I think lol) and that Lemon obviously did in this performance, both of which are way more impressive and less messy for sure than Aja’s.
It bothers me so much that people are accusing Jimbo of blackface and I refuse to back down.

on jimbo's instagram, she said that she didn't have enough time in between her talent show and runway to redo her makeup, so she painted her whole face black from her eyes/mouth in the talent show. there's an instagram post where she shows the makeup she was going to do if she had enough time, which was mainly white.
Speaking for my people, it's not black face. Black face is as stated, an intentional mocking of black people in a derogatory/racist way through face paint/gestures, etc. Jimbo is CLEARLY a chess piece and they are often black and white. I do agree though that the paint was a bit distracting from what I consider a near perfect runway look. I would have LIVED if there had been a gorgeous beat mug with that dress. It really is like a final runway look that you would want to see last episode. I hope though that she didn't pull out the best for first, because either you really have to have spent a lot of coin to keep that momentum going or everything else might just be meh because that is a high bar for episode one.

I actually thought that the look would have been better with a beautiful painted face as well. The garment was exquisite and I felt the paint detracted from it. I mean as a whole it was still stunning but I think if he was going to paint his face he could have tried something more artistic like how Gottmik paints.
A gorgeous mug beat wouldn't be on brand for Jimbo though. Her brand is specifically demented clown, and when she leans into that she's at her best.

They are the two who have the most exposure to earn from this show. I Will say the whole "no prize money, donating proceeds to charity" thing is just more of a part of british TV culture than it is in america. the BBC is a non-commercial channel so they couldn't afford huge prizes, and if they were to keep the proceeds from the song it likely wouldn't go down well over here. Also charities like children in need are very culturally important over here and they have long standing relationships with basically all of the major TV channels

Ru said a portion of the proceeds is going to charity, not all of it. We don't know what that portion is, so it could even be 10% each to the two charities then 40% each for Ru and the winner queen (I mean, it definitely won't be that - I'm sure Ru will probably have like 50% at least, then the charities, then a little trickle to the winner but who knows?)
I thought it was the BBC with no prize money. It is also a government funded network so having prize money is inappropriate. I guess even with sponsors giving the money people may still get it twisted that taxpayers are funding this show. It would be the same with Canada's Drag Race if it were on the CBC (Canadian BBC). There was a prize for the Canadian Show since it was on Crave, not the CBC.

It was a great episode for the first of this franchise. The judging of course was controversial, which Rupaul is happy about. I was gagged with the elimination, but bummed that the fandom goes rabid over the outcome.

1. I think Baga should have been in the bottom. Aside from my personal annoyance to her overly milked catch phrase. She was literally singing off beat…to her own song. & her runway was THE WORST on the stage. 2. Blu definitely could not have replaced one of the top queens. Her performance was A+ but like you said that runway was not lol so no way. The only thing we agreed on this week was the fact that Lemon got robbed!! 😩💛
As a British person I feel at almost every point in the season Baga only got by cos they’re British, and it’s UK vs the world, so a producer would say it’s odd to get rid of the only Brit. Should’ve gone way sooner, and Lemon absolutely shouldn’t have been first gone.
I was feeling the same way when Michelle had the nerve to say Lemons look isn’t elevated esp when 1 minute later she praised Janey’s look (Janey looked AMAZING, but that look was arguably not as elevated as Lemon’s esp when u consider the self reference from her pageant runway from her og season)
My issue with Jujubee's dress was that it wasn't even lined! it was just fabric wrapped around in a halter neck. At least line it if we are going to see the underside.
I honestly understand completely why Pangina chose to eliminate Lemon. She was judging the way she would on drag race Thailand and actually basing it on both the performance and the runway and not just the performance. She also did listen to what the judges had to say, and what the judges had to saw was Lemon (somehow) did the worst all together. Personally, I do think production set up this shocking elimination. They knew Pangina would go off of what the judges said and they figured Jimbo would either throw the lip sync or send her sister home so she could be the only canadian queen. It just seemed very produced bc we all know that Lemon didn’t do the worst or look the worst, yet the judges decided to make it seem like she did.

Obviously when it comes to Jimbo's "black face" it was painted this way to give contrast to little white lips. Making a thing out of this is nothing else than time waste.
At a viewing party lemon and jimbo said that what originally happened was that jimbo said: "you dont have to worry about the elimination, theres no way im chosing you. you are my sister" and the producers told them there has to be some mistery there.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they crowned Jujubee this time only to have her again on all-winners season 2.

I loved all runway looks. Just watched the episode today and have set the series to record. Glad that Pangina won her first challenge.
I can’t with Lemon being in the bottom-and I love Pangina, so there’s no hate towards them-but Jujubee deserved to be bottom 2 and Janey was the clear chop of the night. Jujubee is one of my absolute favourite queens, but that whole night was just meh… that being said, there’s nothing worth fighting for on this series, so it can play out however but stiiiiillllll
I found this first episode to be really cringey and really hard to watch with the unnecessary shade, lack of international diversity and seeming low budget they are working with.
the unfairness of holland and thailand having to compete alone when clearly these are teams of 2 sans the host, they caught on quick though and seemed to form their own alliance
TBH I probably would've put Jujubee and Janey in the bottom too but I think Lemon was a fair choice. Her performance was really lacking. When you think to yourself "hmm I have seen this before" on a perfomance, it's not good. My winner was probably Jimbo but Pangina was great too.

Finally after all these years people are starting to see that being in the top two on all stars doesn’t mean you automatically win the challenge… like where’s the balance In that, also I remember a conversation after as4 snatch game and Manila saying, “Trinity did so much better than me, BUT for the people on Wikipedia I still won this episode; because she won the lip sync.” Also it’s not like there was never a prize like the ru Peter badges, they got money after they won the lip sync indicating they won the episode and the prize.

Actually on AS2-AS4, being top 2 meant you won the challenge. That's why both top 2 queens receive a prize for winning the challenge. Yes the lipsync winner ultimately won the episode but the other top 2 queen was also a challenge winner. I don't think that will apply to this season tho
I understand that, but I also like the idea of both top 2 technically “winning” the episode, especially for really short seasons like this. With only like 6 episodes having more queens winning per episode makes it way more interesting.
I honestly think she just painted her face black because it was easier given probably the limited amount of time between talent show and runway. And since she had no drag makeup on in the talent show😂

My whole entire thing about this, is if you’re going to do a talent show, I feel the producers should ask the girls to do varying talents. It felt just kind of like a fancier drag show at the club at some points. Don’t get me wrong there were some absolutely beautiful performances, but then there are some performances that I could go to West Hollywood and see on a typical Saturday night
they do the opposite, they tell the girls they have to do something safe and basic bc legal reasons. adore, coco, etc etc

If a war vet gets triggered from something that sounds like a gunshot, it doesnt matter to them or the people that care about them that its not actually a gunshot. The point being that white people putting on black (and I do mean black, not just brown) paint has a recent history tied to discrimination and trauma. If black people find that distasteful, even acknowledging that its not the same as minstrelsy in this case, its still distasteful. You become part of the problem when you go around saying "you have no right to feel this way cause its clearly not the same thing as someone pretending to be black." Yea, I disagreed with Pangina's decision but it was hers to make not mine and someone was going to be mad at her no matter what. Either eliminate someone who is adored and didn't do the worst in most people's eyes or eliminate the only representation for a country that she was admittedly close with. It was a lose lose for her. At the end of the day it's not that serious and I feel so bad that people would go after Pangina for something so stupid. She is clearly a lovely person who wasn't being malicious.

I was at the Dutch viewing party yesterday and Janey performed And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going because *spoiler* she didn't get eliminated. I’m a true Jimbo Stan since Day 1 of her work on Canada. Her look was FANTASTIC and while I agree her face wasn’t technically “blackface” it WAS very distracting because I knew others would perceive it that way. Which is a shame because the look is AMAZING.

Regarding jimbos lip sync. They were in insanely large platform boots and just in general when seeing a jimbo show they put on a performance and aren’t a dancing queen in general. She brings that original experience that the lip sync stage doesn’t allow you to deliver

The BBC is a publicly funded entity here in the UK. Which means that brand deal sponsorships & big cash prizes are a no-no with franchised shows on the beeb. Hence no high stakes for the UK based versions. But Drag Race has been one of the triggers for BBC Three (the “channel” it is shown on) to return as a TV channel rather than an online category. I think it’s great that the queens are still so invested when all they get for winning is bragging rights & publicity. Shows they’re not just in it for the cash.
