1) Don't let it get under 20%. 2) Always precondition for 30-45 minutes (just preheat the cabin before leaving). I just got mine a used 2022 M3 performance 2022. 15- 20 minutes charge time max.
Don't charge your battery to 100% if you aren't doing a long road trip. It's better for the battery. Charging times speed up tremendously too. Charging the last 20% is significantly slower than charging the first 80%. Also if it's an option, charge at home.
Yes thanks for letting me know. I just got my Tesla home charger so won't need to go to the supercharger anymore. For long road trips I will charge 100% so don't have to stop in the middle of the trip.
Use navigation on road trips and you’ll only be waiting 20min to 45min max at superchargers. The unlock all doors thing is in settings whoever said you have to pay for that is full of it. I agree with you about the car mats even though many owners upgrade to better all weather mats. You didn’t mention auto wipers. That’s the thing that sucks most of all on teslas.
yes you're right, navigation helps speed up the charging, lol yes someone in the comments explained how to unlock all the doors and that's great. What sucks about the wipers?
@@HowToKeepMore the wipers work fine manually but the auto wipers work off of the cameras and are often going way too fast or slow or when it’s not even raining. Very annoying even after many software updates
You would need to turn off Driver Door Unlock Mode. Then when you unlock the car all doors will unlock. If the option is on you would need to hold the driver door button down to unlock the other doors.
1. Charge at home. There is little savings using a supercharger. 2. You made a poor choice on wheels. The stock wheels are 18' and perform better. 3. Just walk past the driver door. They all open. Or just use the app. One more- I could not agree more!!! Mine was 35k brand new after the tax credit though.
Thanks for the tips, just bought the home charger so new video coming up. Yes I agree 19 inches was bad choice. The doors don’t all unlock with app or from car. Did you put it certain settings?
Sounds like operator error. Read your vehicle manual and spend some time on preparation. Tires can be ordered, door unlocks are settings, and charging is intended 10-80% at superchargers, don't waste your time at level 2 chargers and complain!
Thanks for the tips, yes tires can be ordered but 19 inches are more expensive, I can unlock all the doors now it was an option someone told me about in the RUclips comments. what's level 2 chargers?
I think this issue with the door unlocking is only on the US models of the model 3. Because for my UK model 3, any door will unlock as long as the phone is close enough.
Nice video. I'm looking into getting a M3 and I am going to reconsider the 19-inch wheels. Also, just so you know, when you buy a new car, most companies do not give you floor mats. There is typically an option or package.
Thanks for the comment bud, yes it's all about customer experience would be more enjoyable if they gave us this extra package so we are not running to different companies trying to get all these smaller items.
Yes you can get the 18 inch tires but you also need 18 inch mags. To buy a set of 4 tires and wheels it's $2000 on Tesla website plus taxes. They are expensive.
1 complaint take too long to charge, and gas takes 5 to 10 min, me I charge overnight and to me waiting 5 to 10 min every 3 days to put gas would be a waste of time. so me I don't stop at all with my electric car. electric 1 gas 0
after work hours there's always a huge line up and the worst part is that most of the electricity is used so some of the charging stations don't work or take 3 times longer. This happened to me, I tried a few different chargers and they were saying it would take 8 hours for full charge.
haha it might seem that way but that option for unlocking doors is not easy to find, but thankful for the RUclips comments someone gave me the step by step instructions and now it works
All three of those things are your own fault. Charge at home and/or charge to 80%. You chose poorly - a little research would have told you those wheels are less efficient and obviously more expensive. All doors do unlock if you set it up correctly. And lastly, floor mats? Seriously?
The reason I chose the wheels was because Tesla was providing shorter delivery time for purchasing additional items. I figured out the door unlock thing because of the comments here, you guys are awesome. Love the family I'm building here. Extra floor mats yes you don't like free items?
😢I love my 19 inches … (from 16 ….) but yet it cost more but I def would consider 18 next time but for now I love it(I’m too deep now buying rims and tires 🛞 so ima wait for those 18) Ps I have a doge caravan 😂😂😂
You can’t unlock all doors??? Wow that is terrible. Many cars don’t offer floor mats like Toyota. But yeah hear you it is a bit of penny pinching just give the damn floor mats when buying a new car shouldn’t be optional unless you want like the weather proofing ones etc.
Both of mine Camry XLEs came with floor mats. Don't remember any non Toyota cars or trucks purchased didn't come with mats. Maybe it was a dealer complimentary item or they just tag it in the sales price.
You can unlock all of the doors, it’s right there in the app, and an option to unlock all doors when the driver door is unlocked which is default setting. Also my 2023 Model 3 Performance came with mats.
@@HowToKeepMore When your EV breaks down on the side of the road at midnight and the 12v battery runs out in 15 mins so you don’t even have hazard lights and then you have to deal with the worst customer service in the world, you’ll feel like me. A model 3 is not a tesla, its an uglier, smaller, cheaper version of a real Tesla Model S. That's why those Teslas were made so the lower bracket can afford and now you complain?
I've had my car for 2 years. I've NEVER had to wait that long to charge. Not even 45 mins.
Do you precondition the battery ?
agree! me too!
@@HowToKeepMoreyou have to precondition battery thought message just said go to supercharger instead of normal charger.

My ICE cars don't open passenger doors either, unless clicking the fob twice, making it a litte saver regarding carjacking.
Tesla is way worse, you have to go use the center console to unlock the rest of doors.
Yes exactly it’s terrible
I would love the option to be able to all doors, we should be given the option
Can't you run 18 inch wheels? I've been told its compatible. I'm looking for winter tires with rims for my m3 performance and 18 should work.
Yes you can get the 18 inch tires but you also need 18 inch mags. To buy a set of 4 tires and wheels it's $2000 on Tesla website plus taxes. They are expensive.
Why are you charging to full? Unless you can’t charge at home, there’s no need to charge to full. Just charge to like 80%. It’s much, much faster.

To get all doors to unlock go to car button > locks > disable "driver door unlock mode"
