RULES:
The rules are the same as regular chess except for these changes. For a refresher of those rules, check out this video. On the bottom left first row, setup the blue pieces, from left to right: king, rook, pawn. 2nd row: knight, elephant, pawn. 3rd row: pawn, pawn. Mirror this setup for the 3 other players in the other corners.
The elephant jumps 2 spaces diagonally, over any piece in the way. Each players two sets of pawns move in perpendicular directions towards their opponents. Pawns are not allowed their initial double-step move, therefore en passant is not allowed. When a pawn reaches the edge of the board, it promotes to a general. Generals move 1 space diagonally. Castling is not allowed.
Blue moves first, then play proceeds counterclockwise. Your king cannot capture a piece that is protected by any enemy piece. When you are checkmated you lose and are eliminated from the game. Remove your king from the board and the player who mated you gains control of your pieces. Pawns still continue in their original direction. If you are stalemated, then you lose and all your pieces are removed from the board. The last player remaining, wins.
