Josefine Lissner is an early pioneer in the field of Computational Engineering. Some of her work has been hailed as a historic milestone in physical designs and 3D-printing.
Josefine uses computer code to build the world’s most astonishing and complex physical objects. She is the founder of LEAP 71, a company working on designing and producing the next generation of computer-generated machines.
Before starting her current venture in 2023, she was the Strategic Engineering Lead at Hyperganic, helping push and build the company’s technology and credibility through a number of industry-first projects. She has a Masters Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. During her studies, she built a record-breaking drone at Infineon and participated in an Astronaut Training at ESA.

She is correct about the modern engineer's attitude. Many places have traditional methods and will not even consider changing, hold's back advancement for the sake of production.. Glad I was a maintenance man.

Awesome podcast! I want to be a computational engineer, and this motivates me.
Also, I would really appreciate if you could share some resources/videos/websites for computational quantum mechanics. :)

I love to code!! And I certainly hope to be able to take that paradigm to mechanical engineering too, a new way of "machine thinking"!!

I am still having trouble with translating this vision for computational engineering to practice, even given the examples that are published by leap, but even more so for areas of engineering where additive manufacturing is not viable and where geometry isn't directly the most important aspect of the design. Say when designing machines. Can someone elaborate or share sources on this topic?

Would you recommend a specialization in computational engineering as a mechanical engineering major?

I think its best suited for mechanical engineer. Computational Mechanics is quite famous mechanical engineering specialization.
