I was rewatching Scream 4 last night and something occurred to me for the first time about that the secret film festival (Stab-a-thon) that all the teens attend. If there are SEVEN Stab movies, and we'll conservatively say they're 90 minutes each, that's 630 minutes or TEN AND A HALF HOURS. So this party is almost half a day!? What time does it start? Where did everyone tell their parents they were going?

My headcannon for Scream 3 is that Angela was for sure the second killer, it makes too much sense, and that's how one of the killers fell two stories and the other ones dressed like mama Prescott. Thank you! I learned early on in catholic school that you can lick the tape. I was a talker and the nuns didn't tolerate such shenanigans. Yes, they would literally tape our mouths shut with masking tape. It's always bothered me seeing it in movies. If you're careful, you can make it still look like your mouth is still taped up.

Fun fact about me: some neighborhood kids, my sister and I made a series of movies called FEAR on a camcorder during the late 90s. My mom went out and got us fake retractable knives, pop gun revolvers, and fake blood and we ran around the neighborhood screaming, stabbing, and shooting eachother covered in fake blood, a friend running behind us trying to film it all. The 90s.

Massively love this video, I do have one note though: while Sam's mental illness is yet to be clearly identified, it is more likely to be paranoid schizophrenia with violent tendencies. In order to be not disrespectful to the community of people dealing with mental illnesses (if my own depression is any witness), I've done a deep dive on biochemical malfunctions in the brain which cause imbalance. So, when you hallucinate even as a healthy person due to exhaustion, dehydration, starvation, altitude sickness, etc. your hallucination is either auditory or visual, it can never be the two at the same time as different centers of the brain are affected but not to external stimuli. Because we know that Billy Loomis in Sam's head incites her to act, meaning a reaction to external stumuli, like him reminiscing about his favorite knife in Scream VI, Billy isn't a hallunication, but a manifestation of hereditary schizophrenia we've already seen with Billy and his mother. Part of the reason Billy wanted to frame Syd's dad is because he was there for Syd while Billy's father was so univested he didn't even realize his own wife harbored psychotic homicidal tendencies. This is maybe why Ethan Hunt's handler, Conrad Grayson wanted to report Sam in Scream VI, to hide his own murderous history from the Pink Panter reboot. Yes, it is a 100 degrees outside, send some rain, doc :)
@@Drjordanbreeding I do like about the series, which sadly couldn't be recreated in the series, that they give slasher killers deranged reasons. Sam on the other hand fears her own psychotic inclinations until she finally leans into them. Should the franchise continue, they will pull off what Heroes couldn't and pair up a character with skills to be a slasher killer and Syd 2.0. that would mean screenwriters will need to come up with competent antagonists. Liked that you mentioned the actress is also a great singer. The hunk from 6? He is also a Broadway singer and got thrown in as a red herring as viewers of Arrow knew him better as Prometheus, who, in addition to copy Oliver Queen, also used a sword to stab people to death. As to why he had a very long ladder? In the 50s in a similar heatwave like this one, people slept on the fire escape ladder until the fire department banned it in NYC. Buildings like theirs are managed by an HOA like association, and if the last ladder wouldn't descend they have to get down somehow.
Definitely underrated. This is the one film that for years, decades even, I thought most deserved a cultural reappraisal cos it irritates me how people often talk as if it goes without saying that Robocop 2 os a bad movie. Really enjoyed the video.

Fun fact: the ghostface mask did exsist prior to Scream as a design owned by Fun World, and Scream almost had a legally just different enough looking mask because Fun World did not want to give the rights to use the mask. After some filming had already been completed with the knock off mask Scream got the rights and if you watch carefully during the 1st film there are still some shots with the knock off mask

And yes… watching the original 3 Scream movies & seeing Weinstein all over them (especially when Rose McGowan is in the first one and the Weinstein brothers credit in Scream 3 open crawl falling on an ominous musical queue) is a strange experience.
Side tangent about Eragon, i think its hilariously ironic that the book was written by a child basically but was in depth and detailed on par with Tolkien. But the movie was ripped apart and basically felt directed by an actual child
I maintain, and still possess, the belief that Cameraman Joel should have been a killer in Scream 2 along with Mickey (just make Mickey Billy's brother or something, and Joel the psychopath). Although, I'd have been cool with the two sorority sisters as well. Also, Scream 3 should have seen a Scream cult (with the bodyguard, the non-dreamy cop, Roman, fake Dewey, the Producer and fake Sidney all being in on it, as a way to explain all the sudden recasting of characters in the filming of Stab 3), the Ghostface cult having the motivation of killing off the current main cast and replacing them (Roman and fake Sidney betray most of them, however, in order to make themselves the only survivors due to them wanting bigger roles in the future).

Thank you! I learned early on in catholic school that you can lick the tape. I was a talker and the nuns didn't tolerate such shenanigans. Yes, they would literally tape our mouths shut with masking tape. It's always bothered me seeing it in movies. If you're careful, you can make it still look like your mouth is still taped up.

I did get some pretty awesome upper arm strength/muscles from the 5 months I spent non-weight bearing. Now, these Gen Z’s have roll around maw-maw scooters to get around. Fun fact about me: some neighborhood kids, my sister and I made a series of movies called FEAR on a camcorder during the late 90s.

Massively love this video, I do have one note though: while Sam's mental illness is yet to be clearly identified, it is more likely to be paranoid schizophrenia with violent tendencies. In order to be not disrespectful to the community of people dealing with mental illnesses (if my own depression is any witness), I've done a deep dive on biochemical malfunctions in the brain which cause imbalance.
So, when you hallucinate even as a healthy person due to exhaustion, dehydration, starvation, altitude sickness, etc. your hallucination is either auditory or visual, it can never be the two at the same time as different centers of the brain are affected but not to external stimuli. Because we know that Billy Loomis in Sam's head incites her to act, meaning a reaction to external stumuli, like him reminiscing about his favorite knife in Scream VI, Billy isn't a hallunication, but a manifestation of hereditary schizophrenia we've already seen with Billy and his mother. Part of the reason Billy wanted to frame Syd's dad is because he was there for Syd while Billy's father was so univested he didn't even realize his own wife harbored psychotic homicidal tendencies.
This is maybe why Ethan Hunt's handler, Conrad Grayson wanted to report Sam in Scream VI, to hide his own murderous history from the Pink Panter reboot. Yes, it is a 100 degrees outside, send some rain, doc :)

@@Drjordanbreeding I do like about the series, which sadly couldn't be recreated in the series, that they give slasher killers deranged reasons. Sam on the other hand fears her own psychotic inclinations until she finally leans into them.
Should the franchise continue, they will pull off what Heroes couldn't and pair up a character with skills to be a slasher killer and Syd 2.0. that would mean screenwriters will need to come up with competent antagonists.
Liked that you mentioned the actress is also a great singer. The hunk from 6? He is also a Broadway singer and got thrown in as a red herring as viewers of Arrow knew him better as Prometheus, who, in addition to copy Oliver Queen, also used a sword to stab people to death.
As to why he had a very long ladder? In the 50s in a similar heatwave like this one, people slept on the fire escape ladder until the fire department banned it in NYC. Buildings like theirs are managed by an HOA like association, and if the last ladder wouldn't descend they have to get down somehow.

Definitely underrated. This is the one film that for years, decades even, I thought most deserved a cultural reappraisal cos it irritates me how people often talk as if it goes without saying that Robocop 2 os a bad movie.

Fun fact: the ghostface mask did exsist prior to Scream as a design owned by Fun World, and Scream almost had a legally just different enough looking mask because Fun World did not want to give the rights to use the mask. After some filming had already been completed with the knock off mask Scream got the rights and if you watch carefully during the 1st film there are still some shots with the knock off mask

I maintain, and still possess, the belief that Cameraman Joel should have been a killer in Scream 2 along with Mickey (just make Mickey Billy's brother or something, and Joel the psychopath). Although, I'd have been cool with the two sorority sisters as well. Also, Scream 3 should have seen a Scream cult (with the bodyguard, the non-dreamy cop, Roman, fake Dewey, the Producer and fake Sidney all being in on it, as a way to explain all the sudden recasting of characters in the filming of Stab 3), the Ghostface cult having the motivation of killing off the current main cast and replacing them (Roman and fake Sidney betray most of them, however, in order to make themselves the only survivors due to them wanting bigger roles in the future).
Before the script leaked, fake Sidney was going to be one of the killers.
