  • The fourth wars saw a new 3-way eliminator bout for round 1 and it was back to 6 contestants a heat. This series also saw the intorduction of the new house robot Refbot whose job it was to dispense justice and act as the only moral robot in the arena. The familiar faces of Craig Charles and Johnathan Pearce remain in the spotlight but Phillipa Forrester gives way for her replacement for the series, Julia Reed. The 6 robots in Heat N are Behemoth, Arnold A Terminegger, Rambot, Judge Shred 2, Millennium and X-Terminator.

Judge Shred 2 really should have been able to self-right when they were sitting square on their own axe. The fact that they couldn't really does suggest that the axe was just not powerful enough in general- I'd take it as a good metric of an axe's power that if it's not powerful enough to flip the robot over, it's not powerful enough for the battlezone. Easy win for Behemoth, although I'm not sure why they started the battle by turning their backs on Judge Shred and getting shoved into Dead Metal.
Hey, didn't Judge Shred give Craig one of their wigs to wear after their 3rd Wars defeat as well? He's rather fond of them isn't he?
Judge Shred's post-battle analysis was a bit pointless- the damage they described was inflicted by the House Robots, but the House Robots only come in after you've already been immobilised. What we want to know is why they couldn't self-right (although the obvious answer is "because the axe wasn't good enough").
A rare case of X-Terminator's srimech actually _working_ for once. This would have been a major upset if it hadn't because, even if X-Terminator are only the #22 seeds, AA Terminegger (hey, anyone notice you have 2 robots with Terminator-themed names fighting?) are as much underdogs as you can get. They really were quite a decent robot and might have done well in the 3rd Wars (they were certainly much better than some of the 3rd Wars semifinalists like Blade and Trident). It's a shame they didn't qualify for series 5 with the upgraded version of Arnold. A good fight.

+ArcaneAzmadi Actually, Judge Shred didn't have wigs for Series 3.

+ArcaneAzmadi Incidentally, I did a bit of reseach and it turns out Judge Shred 2 came in overweight, meaning they had to remove 2 of their weapon motors, halving the power of the axe. So that's why they couldn't self-right.

I know that AA Terminegger entered Techno Games because I watched the episode they were in like a month ago. Not too bad of a robot, decentish weapon and a reliable srimech, but didn't have enough driving skill to keep up with X-Terminator.

It makes me a bit sad that axes are so bad weapons in robot wars. the look really cool but aren't very effective

To be fair, x-terminator's axe is just awful. There's no weight behind it at all. If you want to see some better axes Dominator 2 and (in later seasons) Terrorhurtz had some seriously nasty axes.

Behemoth turfed Judge Shred 2, and his kill switch dislodged.

@BBCRobotwarsUK I loved my Robot Wars toys. I always needed to give Chaos 2 a helping hand when it came to flipping the other though.

Chaos 2 was 2 time king of the series.

As I found with my own Firestorm pullback, a Staple works quite well as a replacement catch if you can get it into the plastic. Dunno how we're gonna get Psycho's arm back on again though, my brother smashed it off last month

just the fact that this has the option for 144p means that we should bring back this show and make more episodes...

I always found the scale was really out with the toys so I built lego robots and used the house robots (apart from killalot - too small) and it worked well!!!

@CowsPetYeti yeah, i have shunt, matilda, bash, razer and chaos 2 but chaos 2's flipper's broken, the catch that kept it down snapped and it's remained open for years now :( and razer's claw was too awkward to keep open lol

@RS14988 I had all the Pullbacks (except Mr Psycho and Growler) and I also had that same problem with both of my Chaos 2 pullbacks and my Razer one won't stay up anymore. I wrote an angry letter to the company that made them (not joking) as my friends had also experienced similar problems with their Chaos 2 pullbacks. Lo and behold soon after they released a new version of the pullback with a much stronger catch. So sometimes it pays to complain (although I'm not saying my letter alone was the reason for the new model they probably got a lot of complaints from people about the shoddy design)!

Judge Shred had a slick design but it's self-right wasn't enough to bounce back in action, LOL Craig loves their wigs. X-Terminator totally pwned Arnold A here

why did deadmetal attack behemoth? they did not go into the cpz. judge shred was not upside down for 30 seconds so they should have had more time to self right. so many inconsistencies with this show. still fun to watch.

The one's in series 3 would have worked but when they were slammed into the arena wall by Panic Attack the gas escaped so the self-righters didn't work.
