- Greg Djerrahian from SolidGoldFX has relaunched Diamond Pedals. We were thrilled when we learned this and when we received the new pedals from him! On today's live, Josh is going to talk about why he wanted to relaunch this classic line.

Excited about the relaunch. Also need to say that Aimish Wallace, the previous operations director at Diamond, was amazing. Custom colors, custom mods, if there was something you wanted and it could fit in the pedal, Aimish would make it happen. Also, my son lost his entire pedalboard, as well as guitar and amp, in a flood. Reached out to all the builders not expecting much. Aimish was the only one that said send the pedal in and we’ll rebuild it. Great company, great guy. Glad someone is taking over and keeping that company going.
I was so impressed with how all 4 of these sounded together too, instant pedalboard!
Andy 🤘
Hope you are well brother
Let’s talk about that snare tone though. Nick’s drums are always on point
Ohhh I hate giving nick any props but you sir are right damit
100%
I've always loved Diamond and I don't understand why they ever went out of business. The Memory Lane was an astonishing delay with a very unique sound, and the Boost EQ is one of my favorite studio pieces for tweaking the perfect guitar sound.
Solid Gold are beautiful sounding pedals. Everything about them rules. It’s great that they’re bringing Diamond back. Great move!!!
Jhs and Diamond!!! My 2 all time favorites!
Lovelovelove diamond. So excited to see this!!!
I am a big fan of SolidgoldFX. They are some of the nicest people out there. Do a special on their stuff too. The early design are so beautiful.
Love my memory lane jr.. I had no plans to get rid of it ever, but now I want to swap it for this new smaller footprint version, it sounds just as good with really cool added features..
Congrats to SolidGoldFX (great company) for bringing back Diamond's legacy! Two of the best Canadian pedal companies right there.
Speaking of which.. not the first time I mention this, but I'd love to see a Fairfield Circuitry feature on this channel 👀
I've got an Oblivion, a Lysis and a 76 Plus, three of the best, most versatile pedals I own. They kill. The 76 is in my top 3 fuzzes out of 73 or so. It may very well be #1. Solid fucking gold.
Awwhhh...this jam session totally did me in! Thanks for that and cover on these pedals guys, keep it up!
I know this video is about the Diamond relaunch, but just came to say Greg is such a good dude! Everyone should go grab a SGFX pedal asap! I only have about 40 of them! And now I'm aiming to grab some of the Diamond line! I'm beyond stoked for this! I'm a little torn on the Drive or Memory Lane for my first...can't wait to see whats next from both companies!
That compressor is the way to go. That thing is a tone machine. I’ve never seen a compressor pedal like it.
I've had a Quantum Leap on my board for quite some time, and I happened to run into Michael at a gig randomly about a month ago when he spotted it. Many years ago when I worked at a mom and pop music store, we were a dealer in the early days and I loved being able to recommend their stuff. Super stoked to see someone has resurrected them!
I'm super happy that Diamond is back! The new Memory Lane in the smaller form factor is great. I'm a delay nut so I will be picking one of these up for sure!
The original diamond trem is the one & only tremolo pedal I’ve ever owned.
And it's beyond awesome. I've always loved the sound.
Congratulations on getting signed to Sub Pop, Josh!
Glad to see the comeback! The original large pedals were always out of my price range, but these smaller pedals seem very affordable, yet with Diamond quality. 🎉
I love Diamond's Counter Poit Delay! It's fantastic!
Glad to see you guys back. Was afraid Nick ran away and joined the circus.
Josh makes that Diamond shine 💎 🔥
You know if you draw a line across the Middle you get 2 triangles then if you over lap them you get Sunshine hehe
I'm a total nerdy guy in my spare time btw
I do not often notice drummers, but this one I do, for he is so good, soundwise and playing.
I feel so bad that I didn’t realize they went out of business. I love the comp and the memory lane.
You can just feel that this episode is gonna be solid gold 😊❤ Great guitar playing as well, that intro is just lush!!
I am very happy to see Diamond back on the market. I understand the need for change to some designs due to parts issues. I have in regular use the original big box Memory Lane, Halo, J Drive and both the original Comp and the Jr Comp. I am looking forward to a release of the Vibrato and hope it has not changed in tone from the original. I’ve not ever felt that the original Diamond comp had an obvious snap. As it was optical it sounded much more like an LA-2A than a snappy comp. good on Greg and his team for bringing the brand back
That delay is perfect. Everything you need, nothing you dont in a compact and durable case
I looovveee Diamond so much. I was super bummed out when they announced they were closing. I couldn’t see why. It does cost a lot more building in Canada but still. Anyways I’m super stoked they are back! I might be a little biased, being Canadian and all ;)
Great video thanks
Diamond used to be made just outside of my city. Glad they’re back from the dead, and it’s cool they’ve remained Canadian!
IMHO, best bass tone for JHS Show yet.
The CompJr is a permanent fixture on my board. Best of luck to Solid Gold with the rebirth of Diamond.
Diamond pedals have always been so cool to me. I've never owned one though. They look very simple but look great, and sound great. Not sure why I've never had one
I love my Diamond pedals! I have a Comp JR and a Nine Zero Two. My only wish is that Solid Gold might have had a good affordable solution for an issue I had. Both pedals still work stellarly however, the clearcoat (with lettering) flaked off my 902 very quickly and I am alas, left with a ghostly no name Diamond pedal. I was surprised not being a hard guy on gear and was told it was a failing of their coatings process. I couldn’t pursue Solid Gold’s repair offer as it would have cost me half my original purchase price to ship return and pay to have it redone. Again, I still LOVE my 902…. Just wish it still flew that Diamond flag for all to see! That aside, stoked to see that the Diamond line will live on!
Good guitar playing there Josh.. . That's what I'm going after more nowadays TONE is king ... cuz I'm burnt out on heavy metal atomic metal punk rock etc.
Glad to see the line brought back, but I kinda liked that they were sort of under the radar and not the typical choice. I still have my original Drive pedal with the lead boost. It's kind of scratchy right now, needs cleaning. I'm not using it (in favor of an old 2 knob Hotcake with my Vox amps). But I'll clean up the pots and use it again. Sounded great through my Tweed Deluxe style amp. Of the current line I am most interested in that Tremolo pedal if I can use it to retire my Tremodillo that alters my tone, and is battery only with stripped out screws making the battery change a real pain. I just bought a Lehle parallel SW to use with the Tremodillo to combat the tone and volume change. It's not wired up yet, tempting to just use the Dimamond and put the Tremodillo in the archive. That would solve the inconvenience and free up precious pedal board real estate.
Would love to try the Memory Lane as well. I literally just bought a Carbon Copy and it's OK, but I have a Memory Man 550 TT that I do like a lot. I know I would prefer the Memory Lane over the Carbon Copy, too bad this announcement didn't come _last_ week, lol
That’s a Death cab album is one of the funniest jokes I’ve heard in a while. Thanks for that Josh.
The diamond cornerstone has never left my board. Got it at long and mcquade just before covid
I miss the “What’s New” hangout videos. The vibe/dynamic seemed subdued today until the very end. Jams were 🔥!
No one gonna mention the Video adjustment? White balance is warmer... Love it...Colors a Poppin! Always had killer video but man.. whatever change was made everything looks stellar.
Love Solid Gold have a Surf Rider lV and a Commodore on one of my boards right now. To me the Surf Rider is hands down the best spring style Reverb on the market.
Yeah. You could make a case for the True Spring/Ventris or something like the Topanga but the Surf Rider just sounds great. Source Audio could put on a clinic on realism but the Surf Rider has character.
It’s cool to see these back! I love my diamond compressor. Maybe I should have sold it back when Diamond ceased production. I could have made some money and then gotten one of these 😂 I couldn’t risk losing it though I love that pedal!
My feelings exactly, but I've never found a better sounding compressor.
Solidgold FX EMIII is my all time favourite delay
Josh could make even an Amazon Basics pedals pedalboard sound great 🎉
This is fantastic news! Thank you Greg and thank you Josh! Josh - which patch cables do you recommend?
Mogami Platinum
I think they got rid of the random mode on the trem. I love that mode on the original!
This is good news I love my diamond delay from nova scotia
The SolidGoldFX If 6 Were 9 is such an amaaaaazzzzing fuzz. I’ll shout it from the rooftops. Aaaaammmmaaazzzziiinnnggggg
So is there ad/da conversion in the new memory lane? I've got nothing against digital delays but I'm curious, it wasn't exactly clear!
Will there be a Vibrato version coming soon?
Is there a way that JHS announces these live sessions ahead of time? I only seem to find out an hour or two after the fact 😢
They used to do it on Insta but haven’t as much lately.
It goes up to 11 🎉
Having the ICs and LEDs custom made is a testament to how committed they are. I am bummed that they don’t have the vibrato out though.
Heard from a guy who knows a guy that they're working on it, likely waiting on BBDs or other components
Diamond BOOST EQ is THE pedal.
A Swiss Army knife
EDIT: All right! they added a Comp knob! That's a definitive mist-have
Come on lads, introduce us to the new bassist!
What a compressor!!!
we need a show about Josh,s guitar.
There’s an episode on it
JHS pedals needs some “push-push dual-concentric pot” knobs on future pedals for total tone chase complexity! The 6-Series,…3 knobs,…6 tonal controls. Like the Angry Driver!!!
i heard some john mayer 'gravity' in the solo around 1:23
sold my diamond vib1 at 200% mark up, for an Emperor V2... Never looked back.
Welcome Dustin, very nice playing. Hope you will earn your microphone rights soon.
Hey I wondered how they got so expensive recently, I didn't know they bitten the dust
So Tuesday is the new Wednesday for JHS Pedals, eh?
Fantastic Sub Pop shirt
💙💛
I hope the build quality remains the same. One of the few builders using polypropylene capacitors. Now everyone goes for cheap ceramic smd.
That last jam made all of my puppets throw up glitter. 😄
i dont like tremolos. Not at all. But this one sounded a bit like i might like it, which in and by itself is really a feat :D
Who da new bass player?
Josh was legit annoyed at 35:55
Wow, we can actually hear the bass. Nick might have to sidechain his kick...
The prices on these...
Where’s Addison. I miss his bass playing 😢
I miss the mustache. 😂
He left JHS.
He's gone forever and never coming back
Oh no I loved their jams
They did an episode of him leaving on the Poison Noises Live Stream last month or so.
No offense to Dustin, but I really miss Deputy Dewey.
NO vibrato :( Cool pedals
Great now the cost of diamonds is going to skyrocket. What’s next? Gold?
I’m from Halifax and I’ve never owned a diamond pedal. I feel like a sham.
I assembled a few during a work experience and still don't own one. So yeah, I feel the same.
Give us a new VIB1 plzzzzz
they did
Too expensive even for today's times
Nick dont look so good in this video...
too much yakking, not enough playing.
I thought diamond went out of business? I don't live far from where they are made and heard last year the closed shop. I have an early compressor made by them. Hasn't left my board in well over 10 years
