I really like WROC's music package. It's different from anything you hear out there. A little trivia, it was made by Jay Advertising out of Rochester. They did another news music package for WHEC back in the early 80s. @8:13: If any of you follow Scott Fybush, then you all know WXXI. :)
There's some good stuff in this one. It looks like they have a lot of alcohol commercials in upstate New York - I guess they have to keep warm somehow. :) And that meteorologist looks like he's auditioning to be a backup dancer for Wham (the group, not the station). And that Tootsie Pop commercial brings back memories. That exact same commercial was first brought out either in the late '60s or early '70s. Broadcasters have since cut it down and maybe used a different voice over, but that's the only commercial I've ever heard of with a 50 year history. The last time I checked you could find the original on RUclips.
This happens in my market of Detroit too. WMYD on channel 20 (previously affiliated with MyNetworkTV, now independent since earlier this year) is owned by the same company (Scripps) and shares studios with our local ABC affiliate, WXYZ on channel 7, and WMYD brands their newscasts as “7 Action News at *time* on TV 20 Detroit”, airing at different times than WXYZ- I’d guess this is a similar situation
Oh hey! My local antenna stations! Yeah, WBGT is really messed up. Subchannels stopped working a year or so ago and then they were just removed.

It's because the Finger Lakes are big on wine. They're especially big further south of ROC.
The first time I've ever seen my home county appear on a weather map on this channel!! Maybe soon my market will be covered...

Hello I recorded the historical idents for BBC World News
11:03 ABC local news on the Fox frequency? When that exact ABC affiliate already exists? I'm super confused...

The ABC and Fox affiliates are owned by the same company (Sinclair).
