I am a christian and my faith is being tested as well. I've been moving from one dead-end job to another ever since I dropped out of highschool, and now I'm four months behind on my rent, and my electricity is scheduled to be shut off tomorrow, so here I am, listening to this song....smoking my last cigarette. The hardest part is baring the burden alone, I can't turn to my family because they're struggling too. I really do believe that there is a God. I want to give up more then anything, but if I did that then I'll destroy any chance of things getting better, so I'll go on until the end. God bless you all. I attempted Suicide on October 23rd 2009. It was very hard to go on with life i was only 19. It was the biggest mistake of my life. I survived. 10 years later in 2020 and I'm now 30. I looked back and think of that very bad day. I'm so glad that I'm still alive. I will never attempt suicide again for the rest of my life. Im so grateful that I'm alive!! This song is a reminder to me. I love this song!!

But our characteristics are the same? Aren't they? Your sense of style changes, you're still you. You should be glad we don't change completely. There's no way you didn't smile today.
For anyone feeling hopeless, there is hope. That empty feeling wont last, whether you find the one you love or you become successful on your own; it's all temporary. Times can be rough but we all experience it. It just depends on you how you cope, and a positive mindset goes a long way, even when everything around you is falling apart.

This song reminds me of how we often blame God for what happens to us but in the end He is always there and has a plan for us always.
This song has such a deep meaning. I think this is actually a continuation of How to Save A Life. I think How to Save A Life is talking about his friend that committed suicide and he didn’t do enough to help him. This song I think is in the friends point of view, saying he wasn’t there for him. It’s so sad and is one of those songs I listen to late at night, closing my eyes, leaning back on my bed frame. Hopefully that’s not just me

Hey all, I got deployed to Afghanistan last year and I came back healthy this year in late September. Fortunately, no deaths occurred in my unit and that's what I prayed for. I believe in God, I believe he kept us safe. There were firefights occasionally, and it certainly brought my brothers and I much closer. I know there are some people out there that are against what I do... But I love my country, and I'm proud to serve for all and serve for the ones who served before me. God bless.

Definitely religious. I remember reading about it in a magazine when it first came out and they talked about it being about God and how some fans didn't like it but they didn't care. Its how they felt.

This song hurts me more then any words could explain... basically my dad killed his self (4-6-19) he was a smoker to and I didn’t talk to him a lot for reason but I always loved him.. more then words could explain but I was put in Forster care so it was very hard and my mom was mostly to blame and my dad did try but ended up giving up that night and only if I called him. It’s like this song is from him to me... he didn’t have his kids and his wife was in jail and cheated on him. I’m sorry daddy I love u and never forget that fly high💔💯

Listening to this song after Technos passing brings me to tears. It can be hard to keep faith when we don’t understand why something happened/is happening but it’s important to remember that God is in control and only wants the best for us. He knows a lot more then we do.

I feel like this song is whatever you want it to mean. It can be God or a friend. Both meanings are still what make this song so amazing and powerful.
This is my relationship with God for the past 4 years, a prisoner in my body and mind, locked into an addiction waiting for a miracle to happen before life was over. The rope snapped... I woke up suffocating, untied the knot, laid there crying. God was there the whole time, I just never listened. Stay strong, keep praying, and take it one day at a time no matter what you’re struggling with.

My big brother oded on heroin last year and had a heart attack and passed. He was with some people that were so messed up on h that they took too long to take him to the hospital and dumped him in front because they were more afraid of getting in trouble. If they wouldn’t of waited.. if someone would have found him sooner.. if someone would have cared and been there.. Instead of being surrounded by people who didn’t.. left lying on the floor.. If someone would of helped him with his illness.. Be brave because with kindness and care you can save someone’s life! To help them see the value in themselves when they don’t! Wow just recently found out the meaning of first and amistad. it was a reference b/w heaven and hell. First street is known as golden streets of heaven and amistad even though it means friendship in Spanish also referred to as slave ship to hell. So basically he found god in b/w heaven and hell!

This is really relatable to a close friend I have. She actually survived “straight down the line” although it was an overdose. She had internal conversations with angels helping her understand her goals and the person she wanted to be. She smoked a shady pipe and it opened another state of consciousness she found beneficial. Got her cheeks on her face back and made a recovery from the shady pipe.
