BR in the 1980s Folkestone Central Station on 11th February 1989

Great film again, lovely CEPs. A view which is sadly history now as Folkestone Central only has one island platform, a shadow of its former self. I think that 47 was on the ECS for the 1745 Dover Western Docks to Manchester Piccadilly service. Also gone are the days of the fast London services, headcode 4. And this was when the lineside was kept tidy and free from vegetation, and everyone said that BR was bad, nowhere near as bad as things are on the British railway network now!

Equally gone are the Dover to Scotland Euro van trains. Folkestone East had an old wooden barrow left on the platform long after closing.
