- You Need This Master Caddy For your Atomos Ninja V or Ninja V+ | Andy Cine Lunch Box II Review
If you own the Atomos Ninja V or Ninja V+ then you already know the regular master caddy isn't the best storage solution.
The Andy Cine Lunchbox II allows you to adapt a Samsung 870 EVO 500gb or 1TB drive to fit in a much more compact housing.
Allowing better airflow and cooling as well as being a more solid design.
Check out my video review of the Andy Cine Lunch Box II the best master caddy for your Atomos Ninja V or Ninja V+

Thanks this was the most simple video to understand. I will do exactly that for my new ninja v that Im getting. Looks way nicer too!
Glad it helped
Great demo - thanks Craig!
I'm curious to know what frame rates/bit rates/formats you're able to record in with the Samsung 870 EVO 1TB on the Ninja V - and which version of the Ninja V firmware you're running? For instance are you able to record in 4k60 10bit 422?
Seem to be a range of experiences with those drives.
Thanks!
ProRes Raw at 4K 60P with the latest Ninja V Firmware. Using this HDMI cable: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1488896-REG/zilr_zrhaa01_4kp60_hyper_thin_high.html I have two 500GB drives that work as well.
@@CraigBeckta Thanks!
The biggest advantage of using the Master Caddy II is that you can use a larger SSD than with the AndyCine II. I'm using a WD 4TB SSD with the Master Caddy II eventhough it protudes past the Monitor body. It does not bother me. I'm curious to find out if anyone has tried to use a raw 4TB SSD, whether it be a Samsung SSD or WD SSD with the AndyCIne II and fit in the case? If it does, then the AndyCine II would be a better solution because of the larger capacity SSD and the compactness of the case.
I’m very surprised about the size of the SSD… it’s like they use 20% for the actual technology and 80% is just air?
It is surprising.
It's all so they can market it at a high price so you think it's a nice, big expensive piece of software
This is all fine and dandy but taking apart an SSD will definitely void the warranty and so if it failes inside the warranty period you have no legal rights to any refund or paid repair by the manufacturer.
Yeah, that's the risk
They're not that expensive, so you just buy another one and reinstall it
