Battlefield 4 helicopter controls were beautiful. Smooth and satisfying when you flew well. Controls became instinctual so fast. But Battlefield 2042 helicopter default controls were absolutely terrible and dampened the game because they thought that was an actual good idea…. Newest game is definitely not their jewel. That’s still Battlefield 3-4

I always had the feeling that the Helicopter is fighting against me...I'll give it a try tomorrow so I don't need to play Bf4 again, maybe. It felt so different in comparison with flying in BF4. So I have tried different sensitivity, nothing worked so I gave up on flying. After I turned off "Helicopter control assists" I can finally hit my targets :) I do not why I did not think of it earlier, but thank you very much for this tip!! :)

Also are you running motion blur? It only seemed like it in the beginning when you had the fov cranked to the max which could be it but just in case, make sure that crap is turned off in case you missed it.

@@mrpleezy5275 oh I think that's because u need to use the left stick to "yaw" the heli and the right stick to "turn" it. Try playing around in the training and understand the two sticks movement and want they do and then combine their movements together
Bot lobbies is a place to practice, thats for sure. Less players taking aircraft and crushing 3sec after in Pvp games, and also more time and no pressure to practice for newbies
Bot lobbies are too slow most of time your run ends getting lock on or destroyed by a bot using a RPG for flying too low we need a firing range to make thing easier.

Love to see more flying schemes! I had a hell of a time aiming. I figured out the bf4 scheme but yeah, that assisted flight was the reason! I was ready to freak out. I was a damn good pilot in bf3 and 4. Thanks again man. I subbed for sure.
Figuring out I could just do solo/coop against basic bots to level anything up and get comfortable with various vehicles has been a godsend. Although it doesn't feel as earned as previous titles, I don't mind it. Plus who likes to hitch a ride with someone just trying to learn a heli.. so hop on those bot servers and earn your wings.

I think you should do whatever feels most comfortable to you. Dont worry about the settings. Just do whatever makes sense to you and that will give you the most success. I use alternate because that's how the controls were on BF3.
I know the video is 2y old, but I’ll give your controller settings a shot. I played since BF4, but I wasn’t much about vehicles. In BF2042 I love them, every single one has a role to fulfill. And I fell in love with the Apache and Stealth Heli, but I’m still trying to learn how to fly those. The skill gap between ground vehicles and aircraft is HUGE. I am playing with the default settings. And when you look at the keyboard, they pretty much have the throttle in a different key from the yaw, which gives them a HUGE advantage over controllers. Idk, but I feel BF 2042 is good to at some extent. They tried reinventing (no one asked for it, okay) but they tried. What if it was a success? I digress here hahaha Anyways, I don’t play 2042 without a vehicle anymore. After the patch where they removed the third C5 from assaults and recons, the vehicles gameplay became insanely better. I don’t feel like a paper anymore.

I swapped from my mouse to arrow keys, which prevents aiming at that point, but man what a difference in how much easier it was to fly. Still suck, but I don't use a controller. I may need to get a flight stick. Not sure what though.

More so pacing for farming. I play a lot of breakthrough, and I get my 60+ kill games more frequently than not, but I still have plenty of games where it just feels like I could be doing way better. Like I'm just flying around some matches doing jack shit for my team and other games I'm constantly right spot right time the entire match mopping the entire enemy team

I have an issue with my right joystick. I have to move it about 70% in any direction to get the heli to start moving which isn't very great for aiming. Is there a way to fix that?
Hmm this seems similar to a problem another player in the comments was talking about. I have heard that the bindings are not working properly at all times. I know some people mentioned completely restarting the game after binding the controls, like they wouldnt take effect until the game was completely reset. I feel like that would not help but maybe u could give it a try? I might try to look into this as it seems to be an issue
My issue is control. As soon as I start to turn I always seem to lose control and it just flips over and then I crash. Do I just need more practice or is there something I can do to help me out? I play alternate scheme.
I think theres 2 things to keep in mind, and its 1) Helis in bf2042 have a very strong sense of movement, meaning when they turn, they turn extremely sharp and fast. U want to be very gradual on the sticks. Also, try to make sure the heli in not tipping backwards in your turn. It should always have some forward momentum in a turn. Try playing vs bots to get the hang of it!

I've heard some people say you need to the "+" sign in the middle of the diamond reticle directly on the littlebird. However this might just be a myth. The night bird has a very small hitbox and is a slippery little fella when it gets locked onto

@@AgeraXXX Found where they moved the Controller Mapping tab for the Series X and I feel a bit foolish - under Controller Schemes, it is right there on top, above "On Foot" is "Edit Controller Mapping" (I thought it was just a heading title). Highlight it and press A. This takes you to "Key Bindings" tab where you have access to "Common", "On Foot", "Vehicle Driver", "Transport Driver", and finally "Pilot". Select "Pilot" and now you have access to "General", "Movement", and "Weapons & Equipment" where you can bind the keys. Hope this helps others that are searching for this.
I'll definitely gonna try this out. Never been a pilot in any of the game before, my lifespan is about max 20 seconds before I lose control and crash lol

I can definitely look into the controller map. When you say pacing, are you talking about like when to farm kills vs when to run away?
More so pacing for farming. I play a lot of breakthrough, and I get my 60+ kill games more frequently than not, but I still have plenty of games where it just feels like I could be doing way better. Like I'm just flying around some matches doing jack shit for my team and other games I'm constantly right spot right time the entire match mopping the entire enemy team

Why does my screen look like yours? I have no where where it says controller mapping. I can't find out how to do custom controls in bf4 I used default and legacy. I can't get those controls.

Ok. I found it. They've moved controller mapping to:- controller schemes> edit controller mapping (which is on the left above all the controller schemes). 👍🏻

I have an issue with my right joystick.
I have to move it about 70% in any direction to get the heli to start moving which isn't very great for aiming.
Is there a way to fix that?
Have you tried lowering the helicopter deadzones? Lower the right stick dead zone

My controller mappings on ps4 seems to not be working. Like I can only roll right and not roll left despite how many times I try and re map it.
Hmm this seems similar to a problem another player in the comments was talking about. I have heard that the bindings are not working properly at all times. I know some people mentioned completely restarting the game after binding the controls, like they wouldnt take effect until the game was completely reset. I feel like that would not help but maybe u could give it a try? I might try to look into this as it seems to be an issue
My issue is control. As soon as I start to turn I always seem to lose control and it just flips over and then I crash. Do I just need more practice or is there something I can do to help me out? I play alternate scheme.
I think theres 2 things to keep in mind, and its 1) Helis in bf2042 have a very strong sense of movement, meaning when they turn, they turn extremely sharp and fast. U want to be very gradual on the sticks. Also, try to make sure the heli in not tipping backwards in your turn. It should always have some forward momentum in a turn. Try playing vs bots to get the hang of it!

That's really odd. Are you sure ur looking at aircraft settings? If not u can custom map them to be alternate

I've heard some people say you need to the "+" sign in the middle of the diamond reticle directly on the littlebird. However this might just be a myth. The night bird has a very small hitbox and is a slippery little fella when it gets locked onto

@@AgeraXXX Found where they moved the Controller Mapping tab for the Series X and I feel a bit foolish - under Controller Schemes, it is right there on top, above "On Foot" is "Edit Controller Mapping" (I thought it was just a heading title). Highlight it and press A. This takes you to "Key Bindings" tab where you have access to "Common", "On Foot", "Vehicle Driver", "Transport Driver", and finally "Pilot". Select "Pilot" and now you have access to "General", "Movement", and "Weapons & Equipment" where you can bind the keys.
Hope this helps others that are searching for this.
