Every time an Australian hears this song they just start walking for no reason.
You mean stands still... This is the wait tone...
@@markmemphis84 no, it's the walk tone. The wait tone is a slower beat. Fast beat, walk. Slow beat, wait.
Such an underrated comment, honestly brilliant!
😂😂😂
Cause of death Australia
Car accident 1 100 ,
People driving a cabriolet and playing Billie Eilish on carstereo 2 000
There's an Australian Civil Engineer out there that deserves a producer's credit for this
I agree
Thats what I was thinking.
Australia is an elaborate hoax and Finneas is in on it
Bet he was a musician in younger years.
Louis Challis
I absolutely love that Questlove was so Impressed!! Like shocked 😂❤❤
Quest has done and seen so much too, so you gotta go nuts to get that reaction from him.
Right?! If u can impress HIM, that's huge!!
More like they broke his brain more than anything and he's not sure how to process or express it...bc thats a whole other feeling for me.😂😅
Same! He's such a pro, to see him impressed like this is golden.
Quest has worked with some of the greatest producers on this planet so it’s tough to impress him
This is why I love Billie Eilish despite other people’s opinion. She and Finneas are so freaking talented with what they do and how they do it. Ever since I saw the video of her mom saying she allowed them to stay up past bedtime on the premise that they had to be working on music, I knew she was destined to make a big name for herself and her brother.
For anyone interested, it is played so that blind people know when to cross the road.
We have the same thing in Austria. Its sad if the US doesn't offer this for blind people.
Edit: since I keep getting so many answers to this. I hear you all, apparently many US places do offer this. So pleas someone inform Jimmy Fallon about this, because he reacts all like oh that`s so strange!
There's also touch pads on the button to detect haptic feedback for deaf/blind
Duh
@@stephjoviactually this is a thing in the US. where i live we have a very similar “machine gun” style crosswalks (that’s just what i call them lol), but i’ve also lived in places where it’s just beeps when you can cross or one’s that literally go “walk sign is on, walk sign is on”. every major city i’ve been to has at least some sort of noise accommodation at cross walks for this very reason.
@@santiproductions9318 😁I didn't remember what this was about so the first sentence had me like wtf machine gun crosswalks? Americans and their guns this is nuts 😂.
So why did he thank that's so strange when it's literally a thing in every city around the world where people actually walk?
When you make a grammy award-winning drummer's mouth drop.
Yeah that was really nice of him for acting surprised lmao
@@P-TreeI may not be award winning but I play plenty of drums, definitely never noticed, definitely made my mouth drop
And Oscar award-winning!
@@Nate-bd8fg i play drums and im australian. It doesnt sound like that.
It just sounds like a machine gun beep. His sample is looped in a way that gives it the rythmic style. The ones on the street dont have that sound.
@@slickstringsdifferent places have different sounds. This exact sound is even in America but in random towns I've been in. They use this sound while the surrounding towns use an annoying beep.
I love Quest's expression. As a musician/producer himself, even he was like whaaat?! It's cool to see people who are the top of the game in their profession still get impressed.
From their effing bedroom no less.. 😂
I'm sure Charlie puth would approve
Yeah Quests reaction made this
Questlove just had his mind blown! I love random sounds used for music. Great stuff
Right? I mean, it's so much more impressive than an actual talented musician playing actual music that they themselves created! 🙄
He rly does 80% of the work for 20% of the recognition
That’s literally every mainstream artist’s producers
@filofito yeah but i mean theres videos of him telling billie what to sing note by note. Im pretty sure all she does is write the lyrics and sing
@@johnnymac6242u mean like almost every pop artist? Shit even some of them don't even write their own lyrics lol

I’m pretty sure he gets a ton of recognition. But he also RECOGNIZES that his sister is one of the most talented vocalists in the world and it’s all good!
For the blind and deaf... designed by David Wood and acoustic engineer Louis Challis. The volume changes depending on the level of traffic noise. Has vibrations and embossed arrow for the deaf. So successful, other countries picked it up.
'Mericans so stupid...
Awesome info. Amazing what little secrets are around us most will never pay attention to. Living in their on little world. 😊
Yep, telling you to hurry up and cross. Then it slows down
@@mustydan2001The sound itself doesn't change tempo. You just perceive it that way because you're in motion and it's not. It's called the Doppler Effect.
Roflmaolololol.. for the deaf!????? Lolololol
The look on his face when they realize his ingenious mastery of producing... He gets recognized finally
I love art. Art has no limits and that's the beauty of it and in the right mind so many ideas can be achieved
The real beauty of that sound is that once you hear it, it sticks, then you instantly recognize it in the song and can’t unhear it.
I need more cowbell!
I just went to listen to it and holy shit I never noticed that sound! Crazy how pronounced it is now that my attention has been brought to it
@@ariehill5631 your brain has the noise cancellation update
I’m Australian and will never hear this song the same EVER AGAIN
theres more 😂
Questlove is the best. He just ‘gets it’ anytime there’s a music thang. Here he’s showing just how ingenious that shit is.
The face he makes when he hears the track😅
Gotta love that guy
Agree 👌
Putting a metronome in a song is ingenious?
Right!?? The fact that he was WOWED says a lot!!
What are you on about
Quest Love's face is priceless just blew his mind and opened it up to a world of possibilities 😂😂😂
A true Artist can find inspiration anywhere.
I'm Australian and I've been standing at a crossing in San Francisco for the last 423 days waiting for it to make a sound that indicates it is time to go
Hahahahaha
Our crossings all have that noise too though
Come hoooooommme! 🌹❤️
Lolol
Don't panic. Sending help now.
The drummers face at the end is priceless 😂😂😂
"😮"
The drummer ....you mean Questlove from the band Roots.... one of the greatest to do it
Questlove’s in the house
The drummer.... the disrespect
QUESTLOVE‼️ IT'S QUESTLOVE BRO
The sound that the walking makes is for blind people
The smug face when he says 'that' lol
They have that sound in Seattle too. Trips me out everytime. It sounds like a broken speaker trying to make a sound
i fucking ADORE found sound music those projects were my favorite in school
Can now see a country of Australians now saying "Duh" before crossing the road.
I’m one of those Australian’s that do 😂

😂😅❤🎉
It's not in the same time signature.
Billy has really magical voice but without him she wouldn’t be that successful. He’s a genius.
Well then, it's a good thing he's her brother 😅
I love the face he makes at the end lol so proud of himself 🥰
Very common in Ireland too. I was in my home town once waiting to cross the road and an American tourist asked me why the traffic lights beep. I casual said oh its for blind people. She replied "oh in America we don't let blind people drive"
Didn't realise how much I relied on the beeps until I visited the UK and found out this wasn't a universal thing.
Lmfao!
Yes. That’s funny. 🌹❤️
A family story … one of our relatives took off running at the ‘Don’t Walk’ sign. I guess the sign wasn’t specific enough. 🌹❤️
Just a warning though don't take the lyrics too seriously 😂 some people might find them offensive but their tunes are catchy tbf 🤣
In California, every crosswalk has the sounds.
He's such a sound genius. Both him and Billie are so talented.
In what way? I’d argue he has talent but she doesn’t write her own music and does little to nothing
nepo babies/products of the industry
It’s really not lol
@@_S8EN_totally agree….I cannot understand the hype …she just whispers….yet to hear her actually sing….I think the teenagers went crazy over her green hair when she first appeared 🙄🙄
I think they're amazing together and apart 😍 both great people... And I am thankful for their brand
He is brilliant in his music arrangement. He and Billie are a great team.
This is what I love about music. Anything can be made into a song.
What I actually love about this interview is seeing her older brother make the exact same expression/mannerism with his face/mouth that she does when he says "are just that"
for those who are wondering Fallon is singing "Edge of seventeen by Steve Nicks" that has a repetitive ticking sound similar to the one used by finneas. Btw it's an amazing song and one of my favorites of all time. I recommend you to ear it
Is such an amazing song. Really anything Steve Nick's is heavenly. Fleetwood mac will always give me good vibes.
I feel sorry for those that don't recognize Stevie's voice. So unique. So enchanting.
Glad you pointed it out, saved me from writing it. It is a fab song !!
You say that like it's not a classic rock song that we've all heard 1000 times on the radio and in media like movies shows and commercials lmaooo
“Just like the white winged dove
Sings a song, sounds like she's singing
Ooh, ooh, ooh” brilliant song! I just picture Jack black in shill of rock singing it
This is why I love sampling found sounds, I have so many videos in my camera roll of sounds like this
Proof that inspiration can come from anywhere.
Questlove’s face helped me to appreciate it that much more!!
Love that Jimmy immediately started singing Stevie Nicks when theyre talking about how that was literally used for a Billie Eilish song 🤣🤣
He sang it because the rhythm is exactly like the intro to Stevie Nick's Edge of Seventeen. It was my first thought as well when I heard it.
The brother is so talented.
Of course Questlove is gonna love the creative use of samples ♥️ especially for percussion!
It’s to let the Visually Impaired know it’s safe to walk. When there are 12 seconds left before the light change there’s a different sound to let you know the lights will be changing.
There’s also a digital countdown clock for sighted people to see the last seconds.
The countdown isn’t in NSW. We just have the red flashing man when it’s almost time and then solid red man when times up.
@@stormb3948some places are starting to have the countdown pop up, it's rarer though. Parramatta has a couple
I just love Finneas
He’s like the worlds greatest brother in the most humble person ever
Mean, Billie Eilish is mega star, famous and sure Phineas is too, but you don’t hear his name much and doesn’t say on the concert Billy and Phineas just says Billy but you don’t hear Phineas complain about it even though the truth of the matter is they created everything together
He's so cute. Love that pink on him
Even out in the bush…when you cross a road, you hear that.
Billie been poppin for a minute now and this is the first I've seen phineas alone on a talk show .....poor guy
I'd argue it's actually great for Phineas. How many other producers (non performing producers) are known the way he is? I'm willing to bet he has a lot of people reaching out asking for his work
He aint poor plus in the music industry he is very well known.
This was like 2 years ago
*FINNEAS* he doesn't have a platypus sidekick
Idk if he wants that type of fame. At least he can go almost anywhere without getting noticed -as much- as his little sis. I feel like 90 out of 100 random people would recognize Billie, but probably 15 out of 100 recognize Fin...which imo, is the way to go. All the money and not a lot of headache.
*Disclaimer: these are my own statistics I made up
The DUH. was perfect timing for this
Finneas is a music genius
That guy is so proud of himself
Anybody just picturing billie and him standing at a set of lights to cross, thus sounds goes off and they just stand there vibing

Idiots easily entertained
David gilmour did a similar thing with a french railway station chime.
Also it's found in New Zealand too and I haven't heard anyone mention that.

That's like the Blue Man Group's mantra... He's just it taking to a whole new level while respecting the OGs :·p
That smile at the end is for all producers. He did something that was actually very simple and everyone was so amazed by it.
Hell, the sound for Godzillas roar is an old rusty gate
The absolute genius use of the sound
For those who are interested, that walking sound starts with a loud & sharp but cute “Choo” sound after the light turns green😂
I can’t unhear that now 😂
Questlove's face in this moment always kills me
This is the first time I’ve actually watched him and Billie and him look so much alike. Their smiles, they’ve got a twinkle in their eye that’s the same, the way they get into songs and need to move their body. It’s cute! True siblings with similar interests
Wow! That's just amazzzzing! 🤣
Quest reaction😮 ha! To make the man who knows everything there is to know about music have to scoop his jaw off the floor is truly something special.
No body knows everything about anything
Wow writers are geniuses they find beauty in everything
Writers?
Mind blown 🤯 some people are gifted to hear potential in things that are so random
Is it me or is everyone on this show just really easily impressed.
When he stuck his tongue on the roof of his mouth and gave that little smile when he said “..it’s just that”, omg I could have melted
What in the wattpad
This is the actual definition of creative thinking.
I love this kind of stuff in music, AJR samples soo many such sounds it's super fun to see their videos
He deserves more credit for the work he does. Dude is seriously talented
That’s the enigma of being a producer. The slave singers get all the credit while the producer sits in the back collecting his money and doesn’t have to put on a pretty face
Fun fact Billie Eilish first popularized in Australia ultimately creating her current position in fame.
As an Australian, I can confirm, this is completely wrong.
Ocean Eyes had significantly more sales in both the US and the UK, "7x platinum" doesn't mean as much on ARIA charts because platinum in Australia is 70,000 sales. Besides which it didn't reach "7x platinum" until 2021.
The whole of Australia has less population than the state of Texas, getting popular in Australia doesn't really help anyone get a bigger worldwide fanbase.
@@_cloudface_ what do mean? Her music was already on walking traffic signals 😂
