This video is a year old and I'm just seeing. I'm sure it's been said but Questlove's mouth drop says everything... Everyone's mind blew when the crosswalk noise info was revealed. Amazing!!!!
We have the exact same thing in the USA for the blind, it just isn't rhythmic. It sounds like a traffic engineer designed the sound. The Australian one sounds like much more pleasant.
His smart music production is a huuuuuuge part in making their music such a special and outstanding art. It's like the perfect match: Billie's voice + Finneas smartness in production = legendary, out of expectation, crazy popularity in a short time.
Their mannerisms aren't similar at all. Finneas seems more mature. If Billie was there she'd probably lounge around like its her house rather than sit proper lol.
I love how they incorporated the crossing noise into ‘Bad Guy’. Fun fact: It actually has a purpose. It is designed for blind or vision impaired people to listen to so they know when to cross the road safely. Proud to be Australian!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺
@Gernot Hassknecht of course i can't speak for most or all the countries, just wanted to say that from my own experience, i don't find this very different from what i've heard in other countries :)
@Gernot Hassknecht i'm sorry if this got you agitated. I understand what you say just now and it's totally legit that FINNEAS finds it interesting probably because it's different in the States. I am amazed that he has such good ears and used it in the music. As a statistics student, I get worked up when I see words like 'most countries', and I hope I didn't appear challenging or nitpicking when offering a counterpoint to what you said at the very beginning.
Finneas had been quite underrated and not appreciated enough. I'm glad he is really starting to get recognised more and more! Ps: He looked so different when he appeared on Glee😂
When Jimmy was introducing him and listing the people that Finneas has worked with, you can see the excitement in his face because he knew Jimmy would end with Billie and he was SOO excited for him to say her name!!! We love a good brother!!!
I've been watching Jimmy for years, both on here and on Late Night previously, and this interview was by far one of the most interesting but still casual and well composed interviews ever. Top 10 for sure. Jimmy seems so genuinely interested in what Finneas is saying and the sound clips, and there's such a cool air of a casual friendly conversation to this. There's no big showmanship or phony behavior, and I think it's delightful. In recent years, sometimes Jimmy seems to force his reactions, over dramaticize a story, and feign intrigue. This one is different. It feels like watching the old Jimmy again. I'm so glad Finneas stopped by.
Well they are both equally talented, both create the music together, and deserve equal recognition... so many people tear Billie down to build him up and I wonder where that comes from
I love Quest Love's look after the reveal... like pure awe and admiration of Finneas's (and Billie's) musical genius. These siblings are consummate musicians, innately talented to recognize the music in the mundane. I hope they never stop creating music.
He saw his sister Billie's talent early on, but didn't want to push her to soon. He knew he could possibly make something of it and obviously did. Then the surprise in it as it unfolded. He's calculated and wise. Definitely, has his sister's back and best intrest at heart. They should have a "Sibling's Appreciation Day." These two could be the respected spokespeople.
and in reality, mostly in modern society, it's used by regular people who can't be bothered putting down their phones. They can just wander along, be stopped by the beeping noise on the red light & when it switches to green, they just start moving, without even thinking or looking up
Oh yeah. Though their peraonality is a bit around. Like Finneas is more of a Ferb and Billie is more of a Phineas. Tho they still both need each other to creat somthing cool, just like Phineas and Ferb. They're such a Duo.
Which makes this interview fun to watch and for once I see Jimmy's more genuine side to his humor shine through, as normally he is an awkward and forced guy when he conducts interviews. I suspect he was more relaxed because literally Finneas can carry the interview for him with natural ease.
I would more say he is the fucking mastermind behind Billie's project. She would definitely not be where she is without him. He also wrote one of the best song on the album: When the party is over
He's WAY more of an artist than Billie is. She's a singer who helps with writing a bit and can KIND of play a few instruments. He's an amazing song writer, composer, musician, and singer.
I can’t believe Finneas and Billie tricked me into listening to this tooth drill noise and and made it enjoyable

that ticking for the crosswalk is actually for people who are blind to let them know it is clear to cross the street
Correct. You don't have to travel to Australia either. Plenty of them right here in Queens New York.
we also have those in new Zealand too
We have the exact same thing in the USA for the blind, it just isn't rhythmic. It sounds like a traffic engineer designed the sound. The Australian one sounds like much more pleasant.
I'm from Western Australia and I'm pretty sure ours don't sound like this.. possibly if they're sped up haha
qwertyuiop0312 Yeah ours sound the same but like 20x faster!
His smart music production is a huuuuuuge part in making their music such a special and outstanding art. It's like the perfect match: Billie's voice + Finneas smartness in production = legendary, out of expectation, crazy popularity in a short time.
It never fails to shock me how similar his and Billie's mannerisms are
Their mannerisms aren't similar at all.

Gernot Hassknecht I know that no one is questioning it, I was just letting everyone know a fun fact about it!
@Gernot Hassknecht i don't think it's very different, it's very similar to what i heard in some other countries.
It’s not unique to Australia. It was always in my neighborhood from 20-30 years back and I live in Singapore.

Finneas is such a cool cat - his timing is great in interviews.
The improvised cut to the drummers reaction was amazing. ✌

Nope the comments keep doing that enough by pointing it out 😂🤷🏾♀️
Finneas is such a cool guy. The crossing/crosswalk noise is for people who are sight-impaired so they can tell when the lights have turned green.
and in reality, mostly in modern society, it's used by regular people who can't be bothered putting down their phones. They can just wander along, be stopped by the beeping noise on the red light & when it switches to green, they just start moving, without even thinking or looking up
And that is why ladies and gents, Finneas won producer of the year and took home 5 GRAMMYS!!

This guy has been trained in interviewology !
Either that or he’s such a natural.. better than most stars who do this for a living..
He's intelligent.
Ok. After watching the full interview I've realised he's much more than just that - he's a genius.
The term natural suits him very well, with a brilliant sense of humour as well🙌🏻
Which makes this interview fun to watch and for once I see Jimmy's more genuine side to his humor shine through, as normally he is an awkward and forced guy when he conducts interviews. I suspect he was more relaxed because literally Finneas can carry the interview for him with natural ease.
I loved when Finneas said “Do you know a thousand people?” 🤣
He got me at "Please leave" 😂
the "please leave" reminded me of Tyler Joseph
Finneas is as much as an artist as Billie is. Glad they had him in the spotlight
See this is the kind of musician interview we need more of. This is so interesting!
