This is an introductory look at the propellers used in Stock Outboard Powerboat Racing. We hope it helps you find the right propeller to fit your needs.
Conditions determine the ideal design. There is no absolute as of yet, if you’re goal is designing the best all around prop, this man ( older gentleman) is a wealth of experience and data to assist you in your endeavor.
With today's technology the "best and fastest" propellers could be scanned into a computer, then the stainless steel "blank" could be milled to within a few thousanths of the ideal shape, then polished by hand. In fact the computer can "average" the 3 blades' profiles for an even better prop.
no replacement for hand tuning ....truth is i can make a cast prop run as good for 1/2 the cost of what you suggest ...now as far as tensile strength the solid machined prop will be superior but may not be faster......this will help high power drive systems to reduce blade failure found in cast props....cast blades do fracture and eject from the water and fly like a Frisbee!!! cnc props are extremely expensive ... could only justify the cost if i was constantly flinging blades off of cast props by the dozens! easily 10-1 cost ratio
@@bienvenidofryxx6666 sky is the limit but i would ask for what type of boat are you trying to setup? hull is more important than what motor you have ....some boats wont benefit from a cleaver style prop in fact most will not!!
To work out the size of the propeller you have to give much more information. First of all the top speed of a boat depends only on the factor Horse Power available per ton. Second. The diameter of the propeller depends on the horsepower of the engine and at what rotation it delivers that power and what is more, it is necessary to know the ration of the gearing of the engine to the propeller shaft. Third. The pitch of the propeller depends on the top speed of the craft which is obtained from the Horse Power per ton and a factor depending on the length of the craft. Forth. The number of blades and the area of the blades depends on whether the craft is light or heavy , for cruising or racing, for quiet operation or noisy operations. whether one using cruising speed or top speed. Propellers are the last unit in the transmission system which changes the horse power of an engine to the force pushing the craft............. one needs to respect that propeller and care about it and never maltreat a propeller otherwise it will not respect you.
I wish i could find a good little cleaver prop to put on my 12HP i wanna push my 13Ft aluminum to its limits. If someone have something for me please contact me thankyou
ThT is a light boat, but not a hydro. A cleaver will be tricki to avoid cavitation when you turn. Try to find a brass 2 blade. You can change the hub if it is drop a different company. A good propeller repair guy can change the pitch and add cupping. You will get better speed, economy and handling when it is dialed in.

cleavor wont help just a good stainless stock prop would be best for you...the hull you have wont support that type of setup.
