  • Actually this concerto is quite famous, especially among professional violinists....
    I wonder why a score video of this does not exist LOL
    The cadenza included is composed by Franz Beyer, and the cadenza will be partially played at the latter half of this piece.

    Carl Stamitz uses the early Classical motifs really well here. The viola sounds very rich, lovely.

    This is amazing, learned this piece around a year ago and only knew of one score video, which not only was only the first movement, but didn't have the first few minutes that are accompaniment only. Thanks!

    Lovely playing with lovely in tune double stopping, hard IMHO on the viola low strings.

    I now keep repeat playing the video of this lovely concerto. I especially find the last movement uplifting. The whole concerto is good for my soul and they playing excellent. Many thanks for uploading. Great to see the Alto Clef. I must get my viola out! Been in its case for about 5 years.

    if you want to skip to the solo for the first movement just press [1], brings you very close to the start
