    Much rather have Murphy than £80 million Anthony at Manure

      Murphy's a good player. Needs to add a few more goals to be considered really good, but he's got a great delivery on him, plus he's athletic, direct and quick.

      I'd rather have Anthony at Manure ie staying there, along with the rest of their 💩

    Players like Longstaff and Jacob Murphy are the unappreciated backbone of the squad. Every club has to have these types of player who tend to be not only unappreciated by many fans but these players are not prima Donna’s. They do their assigned jobs and don’t tend to bleat and misbehave. We can attribute whatever successes we achieve equally to the “stars” and the “dogsbodies”. We cannot afford to splurge, so retaining these quiet workers is essential.

      I agree we’ll retain Murphy but not that we can’t afford a splurge. We all expect the likes of Wilson, Miggy and probably Longstaff to be sold to finance the £200m summer ahead

  • @badofcheese
    @badofcheese 5 месяцев назад +4

    This season, Murphy has played 995 minutes in the league and has 2 goals and 6 assists. Miggy has played 1875 minutes (so basically double) and has 3 goals and 1 assist.
    So that’s double the output in half the time. 100% time for Miggy to go while he’s still worth something. We really should have sold him last summer when we’d have got £10m more. Murphy is a year younger and actually has some end product. He’ll continue to be fine as a back up when we bring a new starter in.
    It’s the easiest upgrade in the whole squad. I’ll miss Miggy’s annual assist as much as anyone, but it has to be the end of the road now.

    Sean Longstaff's performance I put down to the blue chewing gum. If it works for Bruno why not Longstaff, keep chewing away son for the last 3 games.

    Murphy was great, so were the back 4. Hardly any negatives to note. Well done Eddie for mixing it up and getting a great result.

    A well controlled, proficient performance from the players and from Howe and his team.
    We could, and probably should, have scored more, and it was really pleasing to see some of our injuries returning.

    Dan Burn was not “hideous” at left back. He had a couple of challenging games but overall has been effective. Definitely better in his natural position

    Great game, we dominated bar the first 10 minutes when Burnley really came out swinging! Looking good in regards to momentum, 6th place on the cards I feel.

    Such a shame all the English clubs messed up in Europe preventing an extra CL spot because we're looking odds on for 5th now.

    Spurs have just been spanked by Liverpool, so we've played the same amount of games and we're 4 points behind them.

    Si comments on longstaff are more or less the same each week and he never remembers what he actually does on the ball apart from the obvious (scoring a goal).
    He was involved in the first goal, scored the second and played an incredible backheel assist for what should have been the third.
    Yet it’s ’it was good for Lomgstaff, move on’ crap with next to no reference to anything. Almost like he’s not watching the game properly

    I knew when Dummet threw away 2 points vs Everton it would come back to haunt us. Those 2 points will likely cost us Europe. Chelsea hitting form now and have easy games

    I don't understand why we don't try to sign jacob's twin, for a low fee, on a low wage, on a short-term contract, to see if Eddie can train him to Jacob's level. If that's possible, then that would be one extra cheap British squad player.

    • @badofcheese
      @badofcheese 5 месяцев назад

      Wait, what? The twin who plays for Oxford, or a different one? What a wild bizarre comment. I mean, I can’t believe I’m even making any points to say why it’s so weird but I’ll go with, 29 year olds aren’t generally projects. And League One. That too.
