Renovation is really difficult, I have done my share. Your ceiling in the living room presents you with an opportunity. The space between the wall and the ceiling is a great place to put an LED strip all around the room and on top of the beams. The edge of the wall has a rustic feel.
The light illuminating the wood ceiling will be warm and soft.

I am watching your channel because we are moving to the Azores... So anything you post that has to do with being there is interesting/relevant. Whether it's shopping, working in your yard, renovation etc. I haven't been interested in the book reviews for the same reason.

Hi, I love to follow along. We currently are renovating a very old property on in Santo Amaro. Lots of surprises :-D . I'd be curious to hear about your septic system and the cistern if you have one.

Hello fellow neighbor! :D We have not looked into our septic system as it is (thank gooooood) working. And you know what they say - if it ain't broke, don't fix it! We do have a watertank but it is broken and is the last thing on our priority list atm. But when we get to it, I'll make sure to film it :) Wishing you the best of luck - you chose a great spot!

Thank you for being so transparent....😩
We head back to our home in the Azores next month. Cringing at what things may have to be repaired.....we still haven't completed the repairs from last yrs wave of issues. Not an easy place to upkeep a home especially when not living there full time.

True! Leaving the house alone for longer than a week always causes issues 😅 Good luck!

Everything is looking so nice! That dumping area I think it normal haha I think most houses have an area where stuff can just be dumped for a later date lol! I am so happy that you guys are finally living in the house!

I have found that audiobook/audioplay apps like bookbeat have been a huge help with work in the house. Or listening to videos like those from booktuber Alizee (hard to find with name alone, so video example "Trisha Paytas Wrote A Book And It's WILD"), or other youtubers like "Rachel Oats", "Buck Angel", "Totally not Mark", "Rick Worley", "Anomaly Inc" and "Diane Callahan - Quotidian Writer". Being active is a great mindset to have while taking in others' points and thinking about them.

Yeah, I do that all the time when I am working alone in the house or on mindless stuff :) While painting the house I listened to soooo many audiobooks and podcasts!
