I hope Maresca can add to the rich history of Italian Coaches bringing success to Chelsea.
He will make us Defensively solid again and get us controlling games. THIS is how Chelsea should be playing. For as long as I can remember Chelsea have been a defensively solid team. The Italian influence on our club is undeniable. Great players like Zola, Di Mateo, Cudicini. Coaches like Vialli and Ranieri who laid the foundations for Mourinho. That defensive solidity was already there. Mourihno took it to another level.
Ancelotti, Sarri, Conte built on that success.
I am optimistic about Maresca .

I'm just trying to be optimistic for my club especially with all the mess that we as fans have had to endure especially after Roman was ousted by the UK government due to the war in Ukraine. We gave Potter a 5 year deal and paid over 20mill to get him out, only to sack him 6 months later. Contract means nothing.

to be fair to potter he did well to go unbeaten for 9-10 games then, the chillwell and james problem happened to him and to much players came to the door kind of made him fallen but his downfall was his press confrence were it is so bad and his game managment is even worse

This is it for the sporting directors. I have no opinion on Maresca. But I do know these directors have to accept extreme accountability for their decisions. If they’re any good, then Maresca will get us to where we want to be. But if he doesn’t, my focus will be on Stewart and Winstanley. Not Maresca.

The issue I have with you is, when you don't like a player you lambast the player and the "structure of the club" but then when you like the player they "the board" are looking to sign, you praise them for having a good eyes. You also did that for Palmer last season and you are yet to apologize. You claimed we had better people in that position in the academy and it was a waste of funds well..... We know how that ended. Let the scouts do their thing at least that's what they are paid for. My point is, stop blasting players when you don't like them and just give the news as its. This is delusional. He coached City's academy side for a season and probably didn't have much to do with Pep. It wasn't like Arteta who was clearly Pep's number two. Maresca coached in Italy's second division for a season. This is the blind leading the bloody blind, A five-year contract for a nobody. He will be gone by Xmas and it should cost Stewart and Winstanley their jobs. They also want an under-qualified yes-man who won't out their inexperience.

Hope he does a good job, but Zidane and Pep had a great players or at least get what they wanted on a market. Arteta had problems from the start, but when directors gave him solid players they improved. We’re right now have only potential players, most of them are really young and he never gets what he wants, only what they give him. It would be really hard experience

We don’t need a CB at all. Chalobah is better than tosin (I rate tosin too) we have colwill, badiashile, chalobah and disasi. All 4 can play while we ease Fofana back in next season. The season after I would simply sell disasi and have a young CB from the academy be the 5th choice/back up. Chalobah is so underrated and it seems his sale is only for FFP reasons.

We're selling all our young talent to bring in average player. We all saw what happen this season with all these new young players that came in, the connection and spirit wasn't there. Lampard with all our academy graduated finish higher in the League table because of the togetherness and connection they have with the club. At this point, I'm just doesn't have any confident or idea what these guy are going.

Boehly and Co is still to make a good decision ever since they took over everything they have touched in running the club has been a disaster, so I will just wait and see how this goes
One thing I’m not worried about is the coaches. I think all appointments if looked through a magnifying glass make sense. But I’m just worried about the ownership not allowing them to build and create consistency over multiple seasons. I think any of the managers we brought in except lampard and Bruno could make the squad work. But we’ve seen time after time that the Chelsea board have a different view of how things should work. So that’s what makes this appointment iffy. I think igbahli is the poison of that board. Todd is a person who understands how things work, can’t wait for the power switch that was rumored a few months back, where Todd is more hands on and igbhali takes a back seat. This all feels like a plan of someone who is trying to prove something very hard and throw all logic out the window. Hope this guy works in rooting for him and hope we get lucky and get a pep 2.0 like arteta for arsenal.

But 1 thing i am realy happy and impressed about is the level of some of these youngsters beeing signed as estevao an payez and palmer etc. These are absolute gems. As long as they wont get sold for profit it could be something amazing the coming years. And to be fair this new manager looks like hes a serious guy so lets see what happens. Just cant do worse then pochettino. If poch just kept the tactict from preseason that actually looked good we would prob have gotten top 4 so i support him getting fired.
