I was listening to this while locking the front gate of my house. Its pretty distant from the house. When walked back in, the power suddenly went out. The whole town went dark and i could see the clear night sky decorated with bright stars. I stood still in awe with the song blasting in my earphones. It was my first time listening to this song and the experience was magical. Sorry just felt like sharing this
I loved your story, and totally relate to your feelings. I listen this type of music while my long 20 km walks, fall in trance and loose a sense of time, especially while walking in the nature (sunsets, fall of the night, sound of wind, leaves and waves from St-Lawrence River). Feels better knowing that I'm not the only one to feel trippy with this music.
Dear Olafur & Bonobo: Since I was little, I have been taught that I should be grateful to everyone and for everything. As the years passed I began to observe in detail the beauty of all things, the song of a bird, the laugh of a child, a look, a fall on a bicycle, the flight of a leaf, the color in the clouds ... I discovered that there is a heartbeat within everything around us and for a moment, I went crazy. I needed to be inside nature and hear her cry ... I traveled far and found a place that now I don't remember the colors it had but I vividly remember the deep embrace that a tree gave me and I could feel the earth rotate and vibrate ... I felt my feet sink until I was one with the world, with God . In that moment, I found everything I had lost about myself and cried ... I understood what self-love and love for everything means, my world turned gray and beautiful, cold and windy ... then I woke up. I hadn't experienced something so profound since then, and then I found this composition of the two of you. That is why I want to thank from the depths of my being for this beautiful piece ...
. Dear Blanka, thank you for your experience, I would not be able to express my own inner state while listening to this music and watching this video better. You nailed it and I will always have your words
I first heard this song at a dance temple event, we were all dancing in the garden together. Had never heard the song before or seen the video. The movements I was doing where similar to the video. I found this so profound...I felt so connected and emotional....and felt the pressence of water all around me. This song for me is about being heard and witnessed.
I was watching Olafur live earlier, he mentioned deliberately he didnt add that drop or explosion, everything is building up, just none stop building up to increase the expectation of a burst which never is going to happen. The next song called Woven :)
One cannot simply listen this track only once. Both guys are geniuses, their music is so close to perfection, it looks like it is perfect. EDIT: the choreography is also magical.
Think the video shows 'resurrection' beautifully. She goes into the water.. can say 'her realm' and emerges out 3 times stronger/better than her past self! 💗
This is filmed for sure in one of the summer nights in Iceland. Very magical and eerie place to be by yourself at 2 a'clock in the night in a permanent golden hour light and no sound at all...no bugs..no birds...only the stillness of mountain lakes and the mountain peaks washed in pink and golden tones of light. Like walking into a painting. Memories I will never forget.
this is amazing to see Bonobo and Olafur Arnalds working together . I discoverd bonobo a couple of years back and Love his style of creating music and his album Black sand is really good then some years later I discover Re:remember from Olafur arnalds what was for me a eye opener and I discoverd also a whole new genre of music and his music is very unique because of his style and sound. and now they made a song together this is really amazing and hope the collab more in the future for more songs because it fits really both of their sound Thanks for creating this wonderful song
If you like music like that, i can also recommend Nujabes, HAUSER, Ludovico Einaudi & Jimmy Sax. Each got their own style, but im pretty sure you'll dig them regardless. Every type of music has its own time for being played, depending on what you go for, you know?
we are so far away and yet made of the same essence, the same that moves a soul from a distance. Iceland land of infinite magic and mystery, of passion and eternal love. your music is a caress to the heart...thank you!
From the music to the video, this is a true work of art. At a time when insanity seems to the rule the music scene, it’s refreshing to find a piece that communicates beauty, serenity, harmony, and all the things that make life worth living. Bravo!
Can it get any better than this, sound and vision at the maximum, the dancers are just so incredible, blending with these two musical genius's. Thank you for brightening my dark day...
After a long day at work in Buenos Aires, and while having a coffee before going to sleep, "Loom" appears for the first time today on my youtube. A beautiful composition and music video. Congratulations.
Had to watch again, there is something about the dancing, the water, the lighting, the music that brings tears to my eyes. I can see why you got a Grammy nomination 💟
The poses of the three dancers are so dynamic and beautiful on this background that make this video and music even more perfect than they already were, at 02:00 and 02:28 the water is a solid mirror
beautiful song and well shot / performed and color corrected video. i've been listening to some kind of peace for days non stop. the incredible subtlety of olafur. but - all i can say here is these girls must have been freezing!
I have no idea who the dancers are but the contrast of movement! I love this track and the video is perfect for it! I am guessing it's the dancer Xiaoyi Liu sooo fluid!
I am so glad you used Neels Castillon for this video. Within a second of watching this I knew he was behind it with such a particular style. Three of my favourite artists collaborating with a stunning result - art at its finest.
Love this so , so much. Each watching brings something new ... The tensions between the 3 women along with the brief moments of sublime beauty of movement make for something utterly hypnotic... For me it's art like this, that makes me keep living ... to see what comes along next and then to revisit awesome beauty of vision and execution like this
I think the song encapsulates your experience beautifully - getting lost in the moment. There’s a sense of excitement yet serenity to it that describes being “in the moment” in the music! Also love the choreography, even though I’m constantly thinking how cold it must be dancing in the water 😅
If you watch the women in the water. 3 women of 3 races holding the burdens and expectations of the world then releasing the energy. I cry when I watch it. Feeling very connected to you each and your journey

i can't get over 1:31 to 1:57. it seems like it's improvised. in any case it's like they are possessed by fitful - though not baleful - spirits.... thralls to an alien, yet healing energy... and for it they are relieved of some long carried burdens. BEAUTIFUL dancers. i love the expressions on their faces as much as their movements. the music and the setting are the perfect compliments
Beautiful piece, beautiful performances. This is like a dream collaborations we wish to happen and finally happened.. His collaborations with Nils Frahm is a dream as well. Grateful! 🤞🏼
I love collaborations like this - Two amazing artists who I really like individually, yet would never have expected together. And the result is sublime!
