Quality just isn't there in Waitrose and MnS it's OK the pre made stuff but well over the odds price wise..your normal base ingredients are where the quality lies and then cooking a real deal no peel seal meal 👍😁
Couldn't disagree more, maybe 10 years ago yes, but now it simply isn't the case. Waitrose has become the outlet village of supermarkets. Filled with idiots to whom shopping is a status symbol and who are willing to pay more for no other reason than to say "i go to waitrose". So smart people do not go there. Just filled with pseudo middle class wanna be folks, sad really.
Grew up on these with a bit of mash at my Nana's lovely 👍. Can get all the M & S meals for cheap at the factory shop in Carlisle so I don't pay the stupid prices ha.
Gareth, always said to myself if i ever won the Lottery I would live the rest of my days on nothing but M and S food !!!! And, this review proves exactly that ! Looked great, and the quality is always there. Great review yet again, thank you ! 👏👌👍😉
I had something similar from aldi a while back, i covered in foil to prevent the yorkshire pud from getting dried out. Cooked perfectly like that, and tasted amazing. It was alot better filled than that one and half the price. The one i got had chicken, roast spuds, a pig in blanket and stuffing ball in gravy.
I’m going into hospital next Thursday & my other can’t cook so I’ll look in Aldi for them & some other meals for him to heat up whilst I’m out of action
This looked good, still a bit spendy though. My favourite cooked meal has to be a filled Yorkshire Pudding with sausages, roasties, cheesy mash, petit pois and lashings upon lashings of thick gravy 😋
Simply gorgeous! It's part of British culture imagine living in a country with no Marks & Sparks no Farmfoods.......No Egg Chips Beans!. No Roast Dinner!
Quite easy - I live in the UK, never do my regular shopping at M&S or Farmfoods. Still have eggs, chips & beans, still have roast dinners...not really sure what you're trying to achieve here other than trying to fit in for the sake of it.
I could imagine living without Marks and Spencer's quite easily as I buy nothing from them and neither does anyone else I know. Same goes for Waitrose.
No Farmfoods here but occasionally go into M&S if I'm near one but not doing a 20 mile round trip otherwise. Some very nice different things there as a change from my rural town which just has a Tesco and a couple of mini Co-ops. Oh, and an Aldi but a lot of stuff (eg fruit) packaged in too big quantities for someone on their own.
Gareth your right ! M & S isn’t the cheapest, but everything they sell is top draw with taste. Try their baked beans, I love them. All the best your reviews are fantastic Gavin 👍
The M&S Gastropub Chicken, Leek and Smoked Bacon pie is outrageously priced (around £7!), but is fabulous. Occasional treat only here in the Cope household. Great video, fella!
Carnauba wax is an ingredient made from the leaves of Brazilian palm trees, it's totally natural. It's used in shoe polish, dental floss, car and furniture wax and, apparently, M&S yorkshire puddings.
That looks amazing! And the wife got some vouchers for Christmas so I think we might have to pay them a little visit. Love your work. Keep doing what you do!
Thanks Gareth. That looks really good and I am definitely going to to try it. I find with M&S that although they are pricey, it’s worth it, because there is never any waste in their dishes. As for Aldi, although they are great value and you can find nice things, they are totally unreliable. You come across a dish that you love and when you go back again you never find it again.
Definitely some nice food at M&S. TikTok users have completely lost their minds though, and there are videos of people claiming it is no more expensive than Asda etc. I’d love to have some of what they’re smoking
Picking one of those up on a yellow sticker is a real treat and a bargain. Looks like you have a Delonghi bean to cup, good choice and good choice of bean too. If people do want coffee tips I have a few, get beans from a local roastery , they will be freshly roasted and have a "roasted on" date. Shop bought beans are generally stale ie they've been on the shelf for months and you have no idea how long they've been on the shelf for. If your making espresso at home any espresso machine will do but you need a really good burr Grinder to get it coarse enough for espresso. Bean to cups are great for everyday coffee as you just bung the beans in and it does it all for you.
*Outstanding review of what definitely looks a very tasty main dish, wow 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌* This I have wondered about getting. I would have cabbage and some other veg and that would be fantastic. I love the balance of crispy and soggy too. Cheers
I do miss grocery shopping back home in England. Canada is stupid expensive. Great video btw. I'm now gonna make myself a Mega Yorkie and stuff it with shaved beef and Gravy ;)
Another great video. I had to have something to eat while watching, I opted for a crisp sandwich. I'm with you on booths supermarket being good but pricey, there is one near me perfect for a treat.
Just got home from shopping and here's the price in Lidll's. Two packs of sliced topside beef £4.18, roast potatoes £1.09, Yorkshire puddings? they didn't have the very large ones in stock tonight, but they did have packs of 4. Slightly smaller than M + S, but I would by 2 packs. Normally they are £1.50 a pack, but they're on sale this week for £1.09. I would then use two yorkies per serving. Put my beef and gravy in one and then put peas, carrots and gravy in the other with my roasties seperate on the plate. So total spend is £7.45. But you do get 4 servings @ £1.86 per serving. I have to say the topside sliced beefy looked really nice and I have had their Yorkshire puddings before and they were nice.
Anyone remember another Gareth, Gareth Hunt who was in the Avengers?...he did the same thing with the coffee beans in his hand on a tv ad lol. Cheers Gaz, love a bit of Yorkshire pud and that
Hi Gareth Carnauba Wax is a car wax we use over here in Australia. You wash your car, polish it and then wax it. Sometimes it is included in the car wash detergent and the car polish.
You ought review M&S curries against actual restaurant curries, I personally found the M&S curries to be very tasty, meaty and much better value then anything you can buy in a restaurant
Enjoy your foodie videos excellent. Bought two of these Yorkies today. Trouble was I ended up filling my trolley with everything because everything looked good will try them Sunday with some roasts and veg
Marks and Sparks always have been good for food,I shop at Ocado and when ever i get M n S food im never disappointed,Thanks for the video and i will buy one of these one day
4:49 regarding the reduction - best time to go is later in the day for better deals, tho of course you risk them having nothing left..! - i went to a local co-op at the perfect time as it was dead and they'd reduced a load of stuff...i grabbed most of them! edit - just saw your comment a few seconds later haha... and i have the same coffee beans from amazon, alternate between that and their Espresso Cremoso as they're normally on offer for about 13 quid a kilo...
Just had the Aldi one. It's nice but they bulked it out with too many carrots. Was nice though. Think it was £2.50. worth a go if you see it. The chicken one is nice.
I've tried that and enjoyed it my wife eats the chicken one, shame that you haven't got a Waitrose locally try online to see if they deliver to your area as the food is second to none.
The closest M&S to me is just over 8 miles away. I don't really shop there at all, but would pop in there to have a nose about if I was in the area. That yorkshire pud filled with beef, tatties and gravy did look really yum though but needed more gravy imo! Thanks gareth 😋👍🏻
I do the same as you - my Aldi is 10 minutes walk, and it's next to Waitrose - I look first for reduced stuff in Waitrose, then go to Aldi for my main shop - sometimes, Waitrose stuff is cheaper - at the moment, Aldi have Tabasco sauce at 1.99 - Waitrose have it at 1.95.
In real terms yes it might be expensive or even out of reach of many people as a one off meal in the current climate. But to make such a meal, cook plus all the preparation $4.75 is maybe not a bad price on the whole and at a discount even better. Food yes its a life requirement but if its tasty that is a bonus.
I've recently been shopping between Aldi and M&S. The fruit of veg lasts so much longer from M&S. I buy what's on offer and their basics which aren't much more expensive than Aldi but my goodness so much better quality. M&S cleaning products are very reasonably priced and so much better than any brand.
Fair play Gareth,I’d be too scared to buy food from M&S, I know from your reviews that the meals taste gorgeous so I would probably blow far too much money in there, saying that, maybe I should go soon before inflation goes into hyper drive 👍
That looked lovely Gareth, it was a bit pricey but at least you know M&S is good quality. I'm not a big beef fan, my husband would have the beef one and I would look for a chicken one but saying that I would probably try that one. I would add some more veg and gravy or I could share one with my husband plus add some mash and it would feed two people. Loved the review as always Gareth.
A few peas in there would have made it 'spot on'. I have to say this meal looked really tasty, and it had more slices of beef than I expected. But £4.75? Maybe a bit over the top. I'm going to Lidll's later and I'm going to check out the price of 4 large Yorkshire's a pack of sliced roast beef and their roast potatoes. I will check back to you later. Now going off track here. On Monday I was in bed very late checking your videos I've missed. I saw you really like using your air fryer and temperature gauge, I'm more your stick a knife In the meat and if bloody juices come out, it isnt cooked. Now I've got 2 convection ovens which I have to use because they are on a timer, (P#%D means I cannot have a normal cooker and hob in case I burn the building down), they are really quite good, but they take up a lot of space and are really a pain to clean after every use. This played on my mind allc night. So at about 4am I got onto the old internet and ordered an air fryer, a thermometer, a basting tube and a cooks large infusing syringe. It all arrived today so it's like Xmas all over again. I haven't opened them yet. I'm going to wait until after my shop at Lidll's, or I'll end up with loads of stuff so I can see if it cooks well in the air fryer 🥴🥴. Plus I don't really space in my small chest freezer because it's chocker block full with your recommended frozen meals. But I'm not going to worry because I reckon I've saved a heap of money along other way thanks to your price comparison checks. So thanks for that. 👍👍👍.
Yes they are really good. I used to buy one a week when they were priced at £3.50 & then £3.75, but now I think they are too expensive so I don't buy them anymore. 13 minutes (200c) in my Ninja air fryer, turning the meat over half way, I always cooked some pea's separately to add to it. Enjoy👍
Yes, yellow stickers, or Green in Lidl if very cheap, are wonderful. I go at opening time to Lidl and see what they have cheap. They put yesterday's cheap stuff out early. My son called me a seagull for doing this so I call cheap goods 'seagulls' now. It is just the same food but at a realistic price. You were lucky to get anything cheap at M&S , well known rob dogs.
Before I had to give up work following a bad car accident, I had a fantastic job, fabulous salary and I did 95% of my food shopping in M&S. People used to think I was an amazing cook 🤣. Alas my career had to finish, but I still buy most of my fruit and veg in M&S.
I used to buy both this one and the chicken one quite a lot but then the recipes changed and then I gave up on them. I now get the beef filled yorkshire from Aldi instead; I think the quality is better plus its only £2.49 👍
One of my favourites, Yorkie pud,😊this one looks nice. I was thinking, would you do a wagyu burger test, a bit expensive but ok for a special dinner! 😸🍷
Hi, Just revisited this video and thought you might like to know that Aldi have these at £2.49, they look identical. We bought the chicken one for our son, 2 stuffing balls, mini sausage and he ate the lot and loved it.
They do reduce price an hour before but most places do the good to go bags now. Where people buy bags of food that would get wasted for a reduced price
When reducing the prices, supermarkets don't seem to be reducing by much... Certainly Tesco. Spoke to an employee. They said at 7pm they reduce down to what they used to reduce down to. In the day they reduce by 20p etc... too far away for me to be a regular at 7pm
Looks great Gareth. I would try it but I hate Yorkshire puddings beef looks great . You found it you bought it you enjoyed it .. see you on your next one .
That's expensive for what it was originally. I'll be doing a shop tonight at Asda with the 10p bargains top of the list. Wondering if you had bought the ingredients separately it would have been cheaper.
Don’t panic about the fruit and veg. Went to ALDI this morning. Plenty of everything on the shelves. Anyway who the hell wants more than three cucumbers 🥒 a day
One thing I have noticed lately about fruit and veg is that they seem to have a much shorter shelf-life than they used to. Cucumbers and tomatoes lose their firmness after only a few days in the fridge, when they used to be good for a week, and the onions are smaller and scabby looking.
Ahh yes M&S. 'Marvel and Spend'. Shame it doesn't stand for 'More and Savings'! Nice yellow sticker action find Gareth I'd gladly part with my hard earned for that as it looks absolutely delicious. Why can't we have this in Australia 😕 Another top review today Gareth. Cheers 👍🤤😀
I’ve got one in the freezer that was reduced, I’ll have on Sunday. It’s usually cast iron the saying , you get what you pay for. M&S is a nice treat food is a nice treat.
From the fount of all knowledge. It begins with a W. In 2006, Brazil produced 22,409 tons of carnauba wax, of which 14% was solid and 86% was in powder form. There are 20 to 25 exporters of carnauba wax in Brazil who, after buying it from middlemen or directly from farmers, refine the wax before shipping it to the rest of the world. The four largest exporters are Pontes, Brasil Ceras, Foncepi, and Carnauba do Brasil, who together account for around €25 million of the export market. According to the German television program Markencheck, conditions for many carnauba production workers are quite poor; one Brazilian Labor Ministry official found conditions "that could be described as slavery."[9][10]
I have just come back from M&S and was thinking about buying one of those but got moussaka instead, I wished I had seen this review before I would have got that instead!
It's the old saying, which in the majority of cases is true,"You get what you pay for". Love M+S and Waitrose, can't beat them.
Have to agree
Certainly good quality and great ingredients from M&S I've found doing these reviews and I've done a few.
Quality just isn't there in Waitrose and MnS it's OK the pre made stuff but well over the odds price wise..your normal base ingredients are where the quality lies and then cooking a real deal no peel seal meal 👍😁

Sounds great!
‘A bit spendy’ eh!
Looks banging. I bought the m&s roast meal deal on Sunday. The joint of beef was beautiful
I love the fact that everything you eat, even if you hate it, there is that head nod and mmm of approval. Loving the channel Gareth

Nice comfort food m+s Yorkshire pudding filling good video
Thanks 👍
Love the filled Yorkshire puddings. I have had them from various stores, but like them all. Usually add some mash with it.
Sounds great!
Gareth, i love your videos. you always cheer me up. the expessions and the "mmmmmm" just makes me cheer up.
keep em coming mate 😊
Glad you like them!
Carnauba wax is an ingredient made from the leaves of Brazilian palm trees, it's totally natural. It's used in shoe polish, dental floss, car and furniture wax and, apparently, M&S yorkshire puddings.
Had some good ready meals from the Co Op too, the beef stew and dumplings was absolutely marvellous
the nod followed by a quick shake is always the clue.
I think that too!!
If you consider what you'd get from McDonalds for £3.85 I think you made the right choice.
Good point 👍
That looks amazing! And the wife got some vouchers for Christmas so I think we might have to pay them a little visit. Love your work. Keep doing what you do!
Please do!
That looks really nice! wouldn’t mind paying full price for that. Just occurred to me that Stan Laurel was born in Ulverston.
Yes he was
Thanks Gareth. That looks really good and I am definitely going to to try it. I find with M&S that although they are pricey, it’s worth it, because there is never any waste in their dishes. It's my favourite meal from M&S but I have to pay £5 for it here in the southeast. It is worth it though as it's delicious. Great video as always.
I do miss grocery shopping back home in England. Canada is stupid expensive. Great video btw. I'm now gonna make myself a Mega Yorkie and stuff it with shaved beef and Gravy ;)

It looks lovely, but I think it should be priced around £2.50. Your videos are such a pleasure to watch, and so enjoyable.

Cheers Gareth fantastic review, I love M&S food always good . I think will be trying this one. Cheers again, take care.

I do like those filled Yorkshire puddings. Like the chicken and the beef. That one is top notch.
Lavazza coffee. Lovely! I wouldn't do without my Delonghi bean-to-cup machine.
Just got home from shopping and here's the price in Lidll's. I had their Yorkshire puddings a few times and they are not bad, especially if in a hurry.
Looks smashing Gareth yellow sticker bargain xx👍👍👍
So good xx
❤️Looks good, could do with some veg, didn't look like much beef, these shops would rather throw the food away than lower the reduce the price,
Yes, you are right
Great tasting. Good food. I am hungry. Thanks.
Thank you too
That's the sort of price we've got to feed the family with
Looks a nice treat 👍.. wonder if Gareth has ever tried Yorkshire pudding with curry in lol
You ought review M&S curries against actual restaurant curries, I personally found the M&S curries to be very tasty, meaty and much better value then anything you can buy in a restaurant
You need a lottery win for m&s these days looks banging and I’m Nescafé man myself
Enjoy your foodie videos excellent. Bought two of these Yorkies today. Trouble was I ended up filling my trolley with everything because everything looked good will try them Sunday with some roasts and veg

Have had this and the chicken version. I love them and they are great for one person with some veg. They are a bit pricey but great taste.

I've got a similar Delonghi bean to cup, got it as a leaving present when I retired, I use the 1KG big bags of Italian coffee beans from Lidl.

I used to buy both this one and the chicken one quite a lot but then the recipes changed and then I gave up on them. I now get the beef filled yorkshire from Aldi instead; I think the quality is better plus its only £2.49 👍
Hope you enjoy
Love the yellow stickers, got to save where you can
Cheers Nicola
One of my favourites, Yorkie pud,😊this one looks nice. I was thinking, would you do a wagyu burger test, a bit expensive but ok for a special dinner! 😸🍷
I could eat that every day Gareth.bloody lovely
Cheers Gaz
Hi, Just revisited this video and thought you might like to know that Aldi have these at £2.49, they look identical. We bought the chicken one for our son, 2 stuffing balls, mini sausage and he ate the lot and loved it.
Cheers for the information 👍
do like m&s, not had a bad meal from there, bit more expensive but worth it, i'd buy this, nice review
Cheers
Same here gareth few bargains out M&S my big shop is Aldi xx😂😂😂😂
Cheers Frances x
They do reduce price an hour before but most places do the good to go bags now.
Where people buy bags of food that would get wasted for a reduced price
I have one of these every week and really enjoy it .
Yes they are tasty
When reducing the prices, supermarkets don't seem to be reducing by much... Certainly Tesco. Spoke to an employee. They said at 7pm they reduce down to what they used to reduce down to. In the day they reduce by 20p etc... too far away for me to be a regular at 7pm
Cheers Hoppers

Watched an old vid... didn't realise you were in the raf as was myself. You done your time for sure Gaz mate
We need to keep m&s going forever love that place
Looks great Gareth. I would try it but I hate Yorkshire puddings beef looks great . You found it you bought it you enjoyed it .. see you on your next one .
Cheers
That's expensive for what it was originally. I'll be doing a shop tonight at Asda with the 10p bargains top of the list.
Wondering if you had bought the ingredients separately it would have been cheaper.
After watching your video, Is there a coffee comparison coming ?, great video's by the way, keep it up, me and the good lady love them
I've done a coffee comparison. ☕️
This is an excellent meal. It needs extra gravy, which you can make, and green veg. Higher price = higher quality!
Yes tasty pal
Great review Gaz looks nice but a bit pricey 👏👏👍👍
Yes I agree
What make and model is your bean to cup coffee machine? You should do a wee coffee video.👍🏻
Great idea!!
I've done one of these Gareth, it was cracking but as you said, it needs more gravy 👍
Don’t panic about the fruit and veg.
Went to ALDI this morning.
Plenty of everything on the shelves.
Anyway who the hell wants more than three cucumbers 🥒 a day
Yeah, everything in stock at Lidl this morning.
One thing I have noticed lately about fruit and veg is that they seem to have a much shorter shelf-life than they used to. Cucumbers and tomatoes lose their firmness after only a few days in the fridge, when they used to be good for a week, and the onions are smaller and scabby looking.
I'll amend that "Who the hell wants cucumbers?" 😖
Oooooh Gareth, I love a yellow sticker. when are you going live again mate ???????
Hello mate. Yes good question pal. Very soon, that's my plan mate. Can't say tomorrow but might be. Will keep you posted. Cheers for asking 👍 👌
Booths is a fantastic supermarket, I wish they had branches down South
Ahh yes M&S. 'Marvel and Spend'. Shame it doesn't stand for 'More and Savings'!
Nice yellow sticker action find Gareth
I'd gladly part with my hard earned for that as it looks absolutely delicious. Why can't we have this in Australia 😕
Another top review today Gareth. Cheers 👍🤤😀
Cheers John thank you pal
They are nice mate ,I would sling in some steam veg an more gravy!👍👍👍Bloody Hell is Cold in Nottingham today!😬😬😬😬😂😂😂😂
Nice one
I’ve got one in the freezer that was reduced, I’ll have on Sunday. It’s usually cast iron the saying , you get what you pay for. M&S is a nice treat food is a nice treat.
Try the chicken one it’s really good, been buying them for a couple years
where did you get your white plates from i like the high sides thanks PAUL😎
Asda
I have just come back from M&S and was thinking about buying one of those but got moussaka instead, I wished I had seen this
review before I would have got that instead!
Not sure if marks do a double sticker as the day goes on, they probably don’t want all the riffraff turning up at 5pm 😀
i used to love yello sticker bargains at morrisons ,thats all stopped now.30p off before closing time. all food is held back now for staff
In Lidl anything that has that days use by date is reduced by 60% to 70% from opening time
