Dear Dan, Im sure for many of us watching....it doesnt matter what you are doing...WE WANT TO WATCH 🥰 Hugs💞
And the doggies just enjoy the up and down the driveway. So energetic and curious.
Love that you’re taking the landscape so seriously. Good thinking ahead !
he was previously a gardner/landscaper, so it makes sense.
@@ryanbarker5217 And chef who demonstrated "cheffy" things. ;D
Ahhh…. Dan the Gardner! Would love a vlog using your old opening intro of you driving the green van with the broken side mirror humming along to “Suddenly… 🎶
Yes i liked that intro song Happy times but different now 🥰🥰
Me too that song just lifts my spirit no matter how I am actually feeling 😊😊😊😊
Bring back the green VW! The ongoing monthly paid subscriber cashflow would easily cover a rebuild.
Thanks for being back Dan the Garden for a surprise appearance
😂😂😂😂nice work Kat always loverly to see you 🌹💐🌹
Love Sue❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Dan the builder.Dan the gardener. Dan the chef.
He can do it all . God bless
Once these get planted it would be great to see a drone shot or balcony view of the new plants. Fingers crossed no more snow or hail.
Some of us like Dan the gardener as much as Dan the builder. Can’t wait til you tackle the pool.
Anxious to see him tiling rooftops first.
Just saying. Once a roof exists; the interiors can begin to come alive again.
And if he gets it done before Ms Jarvis.😮😂
Dan the pool “boy”😂
@@hepzib928of course he will......she's too busy travelling 🙄
@@kimlarkin2630it's amazing how much is being done at lalande and even more to come once the French beurocrecy finally allows the exterior, the lake and the apartments that need permission for windows. The major Chapel renovation is well on its way as is some of the garden, as for her travelling you sound just a bit jealous!!!
whomever that truck driver was delivering for that company would be getting a call and it would not be nice either..
Yeah but Dan's such a proper gentleman, he wouldn't do that.
@@falco621
Agreed on both comments ❤
vous avez raison. Cela eut été une bonne idée de lui faire une mauvaise publicité de son entreprise de transport.
Is anyone else thinking J-E-R-K?
call me nasty but I would have him fired, he was paid to deliver it to the door, what if they were stolen or damaged, not good enough
Ah, yes how could ever forget Dan the gardener 😊. Glad you have your own Chateau now
Shout out to Davey for having the good planning and vision to get all these plants for the Chateau. Well done Davey!
Plants will enhance the chateau. Dan's planting in winter for shrubs and spring for flowers shows he has PLANNED expertly.
Great to know that Davy has been instrumental in planning the grounds and planting.
A project that has saved Dan time and energy - a great collaboration.
I look forward to seeing it next year and years to come 🍀
Davy planned it for him.
@@barbaramurray4191I agree. The permanent infil will show this year, but it will develop beautifully over the next 3 - 5 years. Can't wait.
I took a look at my garden today, and also have about 2,000 new plants. Unfortunately, they mostly seem to be weeds....❤
They're free, though 😄
🤣🤣🤣
😂
😂😂😂My mother used to say that weeds are just flowers that nobody loves. I’ve always loved that.
It will be a beautiful, fabulous thing when not only the home is restored, but the landscaping has been done simultaneously.
I can tell that your 🌳 garden and landscaping is going to be picture perfect...each day of your life is an adventure for me...thank you for taking me along 😊
Well said. Ditto!
Am I only one who thinks picture perfect should have some green lawn and able to see sky too? right now its full of trees and he planted some more and now planting again. this i overkill, who the F has one plant or more per square metre in his yard ?
I was holding my breath, watching that precarious conga line of trolleys, on their little wheels. I'm glad they defied the odds.
Same, 😂 But Dan nailed it! as par usual. 🥳
😂 I was humming the tune in my head!😂😂
Me too I am amazed ....but Dan managed to pull it of ...like he always does😂😂😂😂
I was holding my breath too. 😂😂
Me too🎉
Well that's some MacGyver moves getting the plants off the road.
Yes, "Dan the gardener" with his cheeky original smile was great fun and it has been a journey, a pleasure and an honour watching "Dan the Gardner" become "Dan the Chateau owner" and Jack of all trades ! Learning as you move forward, automating processes and achieving what many thought was unachievable. After what felt forever on the roof, we are getting back into the garden just in time for spring !!!
A lovely garden will be such an important part of the chateau.
Those of us who have 'known' you before you were a vlogger or owned a chateau, think of you as 'Dan the Gardner' still. It feels like we are the 'old friends' vs all your new subscribers, who are the 'new friends'. Good to see a glimpse of Kat too.
I remember when he first started working for Stephanie he didn’t want to be on camera.
Who is Kat?
@@lisascibelli4226 Cat (she spells it with a C) is a friend from Lalande days.
@@lisascibelli4226Cat (Caitlin)is his lady friend, they met at Lalande
the man of many coats- dan the chef, dan the gardener, dan the builder, and the most important job of all - Dan the dad❤😂
Some of us are interested in the plants. Watching Nick manage the trees and landscaping is a favourite part of this for me.
I very much like watching the gardening parts of videos! 🌻🌲🥀😊
I personally skipped through the gardening episodes entirely (just like this one).. Only gardening I personally was interested in is the plants growing inside the ruin 😂
That hair! 😢😮 I didn't know your previous life as a Gardiner. 😅
I love both the gardening and the building work, it's all part of bringing the chateau back to its former glory
For me too
Thanks, Dan. The job you have taken on is far bigger and tougher than any I've seen. That's great, but you do it with such patience and humor! Maybe that's why people really like being around you and watching what you do with such interests.
Thank you, Dan. ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉😊
The memorial stone at the start of the video reads:
In this place from 1940 to 1945 families and hundreds of Jewish children were taken in and hidden. In recognition of the people of Creuse who helped them and saved them in the struggle for the liberation of France and against racism and antisemitism.
It was commissioned by the Children’s Aid Society for the site at Chateau de Chaumont.
Thank you for the translation
❤️
Such a nostalgic vlog today. Yes, I do miss Dan the Gardener but look forward to your continuing development of becoming a Renaissance man! What a life you live. I can’t wait to see what Davey has designed. The hellebores and rhododendrons will be beautiful.
Sure did! He is such a nice person. Amazing skills! He has admirers all around the world! Including me!
Love Dan the gardener and Dan the builder equally, the progress you've made is outstanding!!😊❤
I remember when you were Dan the Gardener brought back lots of memories. The Chateau is going to be beautiful. Go Dan go be Dan the Gardener. Hell Kat good to see you again.
It's just April... the old fashioned season 😂 Well done amazing guys!
I do miss "good ol' Dan the Gardener". Ah...those were the days. But Dan, what you are doing and have achieved is such a marvel!
I love Dan the gardener!❤❤❤❤
U are a man of many talents. An everything u do comes in handy
Absolutely blew my mind when you got all three trolleys in one trip 😳
😂😂😂 Your dog look like he was questioning your decision about the plant train.😅 Too funny. 🤣
Kept waiting on "what could possibly go wrong"! The three big cart tied together was epic Dan stuff!
YES!
The gardens will look amazing 👏 🇬🇧
I love seeing Kat! She’s a hard worker like Dan.
Dan your a treasure fallow your heart. You can handle the challenge of your ruins do it w your heart life is short grab it when you can. Great videos Sir. Do you SOD critical viewers you've shown your the captain of your life
The parter he needs….I love this two 🥰👍
Hi, are they a couple now? Definitely no hate just curious.
@@true05angelthey are.
They have the same sense of humor.
For those that are new to Kat …… She is Witty - funny - sharp - bright - a team player …… if you pull up the Covid season of “ The Chateau Diarie “ …… you can see why we love Dan & Kat …… and have been following Dans journey since he started RUclips videos ……. ❤
It is very sensible to work on the landscaping right from the start. It takes years to mature. By the time the chateau is getting towards finished, the garden and grounds will be appropriate.
Kat will always be one of my favorites from Chateaux Diaries
Kat is lovely and no nonsense, hard working girl. Bravo Kat.
Yes, Dan we miss that lad! But I hear he comes back from time to time!Love this vlog.
Massive Kat power! Great to see her back with back breaking work! So much appreciation!
Love seeing you and the beautiful Cat working together. Super team effort. Loads of love K🇬🇧❤️
Me too , Kat. and Nick just seem to fit there 🙏🥰
Are they a couple now ?
Great seeing Kat! So excited for gardening content. Thanks, Davey, for your good advice, I have every confidence the garden will have many, many beautiful plants. Well done Dan.
The weather is sketchy there! That Lori driver should get a new job! Thank God for Cat’s help! Hope the forecast is better tomorrow! It’s gonna be beautiful!
i love how people think others should get a new job with out knowing all the details on why he didn't unload it. what if he was a new driver and still uncertain with his skills and was playing on the safe side? what if he thought it might be muddy and could get stuck? some people.
We do miss Dan the gardener, but missed more is your and Stephanie’s interactions. They were so funny and loving like sister and brother. Miss that.
You are doing such an incredible job with the château and the grounds. Be safe and thank you for another wonderful video ❤️
Every grand house needs a grand garden. Cant wait.
A wonderful blast from the past. While it's a lot of work now, it will look great as the Chateau reconstruction progresses. 👏👏👏
Thrilling to see your park being looked after as much as the chateau!
I think they’ll be plenty of volunteers tomorrow, who wouldn’t want to help a lovely chap like Dan, and rhododendrons sound lush for lining the drive 😊
Hopefully you get to keep those shelves!!!! Be great for basement storage
You can't go wrong with Davey. He is the best!
Dan you have been a friend, a lover, a husband, a father, a Gardner, a cook, a dreamer, a builder! A man of many things.
I’m sure we all don’t care what we watch you do, we just want you to win at whatever you do!
He's never married.
So basically he is a porn star? ;)
@@francoisbruel9163he has two beautiful children so there’s been love in his life ❤
Your comment was rude and uncalled for
@@chriswilford3576Ok, took your opinion into account and deleted my poor joke, for the sake of the family-friendlyness of this channel. ❤
A lover 😂😂😂 calm down LOL
Wow. The difference in the video quality between now and the archived footage from Lalande is amazing!
Nostalgic seeing "Dan the Gardener"! The four wheeler shenanigans make me feel good about some of the janky ways I have also towed things, always an inspiration! Love seeing the work!
I love that you are doing the garden at the same time, it means everything will establish and look like it’s been there forever by the time the renovations finished. I’ve been watching Dan the gardener right from the start at Stephanie’s. 😁
Me too
Same here!!
Brought a tear to my eye after watching the old Dan the garden how it all started at your Old Bakery too, life has to move on but I do miss your little family of 3 still. Good luck with planting them out.
I clamped my hands, laughed and a tear to my eyes! Dan is an incredible person! Made his dream come to life!
I miss your family too, Kat’s gorgeous, but Analise is too and she gave you your Sons. I hope she’s happy.
Thanks for bringing up the separation. I thought this was about Dan and his chateau restoration.
I think I remember at one point Philip from "How to Renovate a Chateau" had mentioned that he regretted not starting on their gardens from the beginning, so to me it makes sense that the garden work would take place now alongside the work being done on the building. I love the gardening content!
Well... Philip came way later....Stephanie did actually worked on her garden...and Dan was I think her first Gardner since her youtube started. Philip was restoring old furniture....
@@skdoremi6666 You're talking about the wrong Philip...
@@skdoremi6666 haha I'm not talking about Philip Jansen, I was talking about Philip and Anna from Chateau Gon Fil son Fleur (sp?). They have a YT channel too!
This is going to be so beautiful that's a lot of plants Dan the gardener 😮❤😊
Your one of a few that know the benefits of having a really good established garden by the time your project is completed it will look amazing it really looks great now.
As much as i love Dan the builder, it nice to see a bit of Dan the gardener, nice to know Davie is in the background giving advice, always good seeing Kat.😌❤️🙏🕺💃
I definitely miss Dan the gardener and I miss the Dan Amory bantery ❤❤
It was great fun!
Whatever happened to Dan and Amory's friendship? Seems strange Amory never visits Dan. Amory doesn't seem real happy to me. He was more cheerful when is was around Dan in the earlier days. He hardly ever smiles!
@@Denise-ro8jx I’ve noticed that as well.
@@Denise-ro8jx I think the accident at LaLande hit him pretty hard. He looked so devastated, from screenshots I've seen. I don't watch the other channel, but I hope he took some time for himself and got some therapy.
What are you talking about ? I've been following the channel for less than a year. I don't understand
Happy planting day Dan and friends 😊
Definitely miss Dan the Gardener. However, I love watching you bring this chateau back to life.
The rhododendrons down the drive will look beautiful and smell divine
I didn't know Rhodo's had a scent. Good to know!
Agree and they will look lovely too! Really pretty for the entrance and drive
@@avivat3010 Not all are, but some are fragrant.
@@BernardDauphinais Thank you for the clarification!
I love all the plants, trees etc.. looking great! What an awesome job you’re doing!! It’s a joy to watch all your videos! 🇨🇦👏👏👏🌷🇨🇦
I love to watching the plantings, especially the live streams.
Yes, it is great to see a bit of Dan the Gardener. I love gardening so it is great to see the changes ypu have made along with the incredible work on the Chateau.
Good lord…Dan the Gardner, 2000 plants and a Tame Digger.Lovely Journey.
I love that both mature landscape plans were based on Davey's landscape design! And so there really is no competition between the prospective chatelaines, but Davey's expanding influence on the regional chateaux map for future chatelaines to rediscover.
This is so funny just as you were talking about the hail and snow it started doing the same where I live!!😂😂
My house too!! I live in Colorado, USA
@@casshiggins3725 I’m in Montana USA
I can’t get over how far y’all have come since I first started watching your channel! It’s amazing !
Cat's hair is turning white rather quickly from your antics, Dan 😆
I enjoy Dan the gardener almost as much as I enjoy Dan when he's installing NOGGINS. 😂 Love your posts - progress is great!
You and Kat, two hardworking down to earth people!❤️
What a delight to see.
A moody French lorry driver???
Surely not…..
Not really, I LOVE that your doing for YOU now n' your family....Think about the first time the boys will have their own room....how cool is that...Your on the right path...LOVE from Chicago
And when you’re finally in your chateau and it’s fully working it will be lovely to see Dan the chef !
Dan will always make a plan, and I think he is also planning a planting party 😊🎉
🎶'Well, I went to a garden party....'🎶
I always enjoy your music selections.
I take great joy in my garden and my houseplants. I love them all. I expected no less than that you would have beautiful grounds for your chateau. How could you not?
Awh DAN THE GARDENER , nice Lots of plants to be planted it will look amazing when all taken and growing. Loved watching. See yer tomorrow😘
I'm delighted by all Chateau related topics including earth works, forest management, landscape architecture, and of course the restoration of the chateau from encaustic floor tile to roof pitch.
Cheers, Dan!
That blue roof is stunning!
You're a hero & a legend Dan, you and your family deserve the amazing life ahead of you at the chateau
Can we have a live of the planting like we had a few months ago? Pretty pleeeeaaasssse!!!!!!!!!!
I enjoy the whole project…gardens and construction! Sure hope we all can stay along for the whole ride. Your ambition is amazing.
That racking will come in handy!!
Big Dan, all things considered that when rather well, looks like the day turned out fairly nice, we'll see ya next time
bonjour dan quelque mots en francais nous ferais plaisir beaucoup de gents ne comprenne pas l anglais
Well, if tue Chateau thing doesn’t work out, you’ve got a promising career in airport baggage handling ahead of you. 😂 Just kidding; Looking great.
Nice to see two thousand plants going in Dan, hope you have made some room for veggies can’t beet home grown vegetables, things are looking realy good.
That driver obviously doesn’t trust his driving skills getting in and out of your driveway! .....shouldn’t be in the job then 😮
A thank you note to the deliverer of the first landscape truck delivery (earlier in the year) with video footage illustrating the ease of a proper delivery with the hassle of an improper one, might be a measured response to the companies involved.
I wish I could paint your front gates a Nice French Quarter Green.
It's used quite extensively here in New Orleans on Iron gates/fences.
WOW I agree the gates would look AMAZING in that colour 💕🇦🇺💕
Hi Dan
The chateau looked so nice from a distance
Once you finish the garden in the front
It will be amazing❤🐶❤️🐶
Nice trick with the pallet jack. They say necessity is the mother of invention!
Re. your lackadaisical lorry driver, as my old mucker Roy Strong might have said, "So much for having a chateau?" Still, the plants look great. Happy planting.
You must have built that new(ish) drive really well for the plant trollys not to have fallen over.
Love seeing Kat helping out!
I do miss Dan the gardener. It was nice to see Kat.
