Which Israel? Israel is divided. There is the side that believes they can live by double standards and judge Hamas murder of innocent civilians while they go on to commit mass murder of innocent civilians. They feel entitled to oppress, abuse, commit atrocities, and genocide of Gaza and the West Bank to level, clear, and claim them for Israel. All for Netanyahu's glory. They defy all of God's requirements and instructions for the Jewish people to live in Israel. They broke the terms of their inheritance laid out in JEREMIAH 7. Then there are the other half that believe in the law and order, in human rights, in respect for life, in showing the humanity, empathy, and mercy that Hamas lacks. They believe in exemplifying a healthy society with equal rights, value and protection of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all people. Used to bug me when I saw republican areas in Norn Iron (I lived in Co Tyrone, then Co Fermanagh), fly Palestinian arab flags. They should have been fying Israeli flags, the natives of Israel! All down to the myths of far left identity politics.

I am from Hungary. It's absurd to me how anyone could watch what happened on oct.7 and support Hamas. Fortunately here there's no public and political discourse around this, since most people- government supporters and liberals alike support Israel's right to defend itself. I think this proves your point about being woke makes you terrorist sympathizer, because in Eastern Europe woke is not an issue.
That's because Woke is essentially a cultural communist movement, and Eastern Europeans can recognize it's sense immediately.

Not hairdos and nail polish, not getting rich, not becoming famous. When I discovered the Labor Zionist youth group...I felt like a fish that found the water.
I'm 77 now, in Israel, with two grandsons fighting in Gaza right now. It's not been easy, but I am glad to have been here all these years, and did (and am still doing) what I could to help build this still new country for and with my people.

i agree but as a parent i know as your childeren exert independence they may go along the wrong path. But that is why as a parent we need to watch our childeren if they are being misinformed we need to intervene

I am an older American parent. I have to say, as i have said many times before, many of us screwed up! We listened and learned from "the experts" the importance our children's self esteem. Many made these children believe thay ARE perfection. I thank God I had more common sense and grounding (from my mother and father)than to go that far. These children have grown up. Unbelievably "the real world" hasn't stopped worshipping them. Many parents have lost sight of the one perfection, God. Praying for forgiveness and blessings for all of us.

Has the mayor of Jerusalem put any of those Gaza elementary school curriculum books online…… In their entirety from the front cover to the back? It would be very interesting to see and read the math books, the history books, the literature books, the civics books that are being used to educate those young children.

Sorry. My kids never ever came to me and told me they were suffering from mental health issues until they were older. I mean 18 or older. Only because they see it the world. Not because they saw it at home since I Home schooled them. They are older and unfortunately now they do believe in all this crap. Unbelievable stupidity that will be the undoing of our country.

I am an OCD therapist and my job is to increase one's emotional pain threshold. I do my job at a university. Students have become increasing difficult as they hold others responsible for their pain and simply don't want to accept the reality that in life there is emotional pain. They want to run from pain however, you can't run from the trappings of your own mind.

Patriotism has not been taught for a long time-not nationalism-and admittedly, it can be hard to feel patriotic looking at how things are now. American holidays often don’t have a content element. On July 4, I do a round robin reading of the Dec of Independence. But admittedly, this is partly rooted in a Jewish affinity for text.

I do believe that parents do bear some of the blame. I feel too many parents do not strongly express their opinions enough and impart their wisdom. They bow too much to the younger generation and like feeling cool.

Emily and Ashira are both right on point with each of their first comments. Emily, you are correct about the whole extreme of the left, putting upon us the whole philosophy and limitations inherent in binary choices when it comes to generalising people groups. It is horribly simplistic and flawed. Human beings are much more complex and thus, so is the human condition. So it does a great disservice to everyone to be put into a box. And speaking as Emily did about the deterministic effects of victimhood on the part of the victim, as well as the effects on the victim when it comes to viewing others as an evil oppressor, both of these thought processes lead to permanent victimhood and an innate inability to progress past victimhood status to become a successful, functioning member of society. That is exactly what has happened to many members of the black community in America. I do not mean to generalize or paint a broad brush by any means. People are people and every person, family, community and society are individualistic, so their is no one size fits all or binary equation to assume. However, an observation of the detrimental effects is evident across the spectrum when looking at the prosperity of many members of the black community, or lack there of on a percentile basis. Black on black crime, the percentage of blacks incarcerated in America, death rates in general in the black community, abortion rates in the black community, the rate of fatherlessness in the black community and the lower high school graduation rates in the black community are all indicators. And for all these negative effects, rather than take some responsibility for their own actions and their own destiny, many in the black community find it easier to just put all the blame on racist colonialist white people. This is a great disservice to members of the white community in general, but it also does nothing to further the future success prospects for members of the black community. It keeps them in this perpetual cycle of victimhood and failure. A lot of this was brought about by US government inserting itself in the black community and the black family unit with the American Civil Rights Act in the 1960s. The government may have meant well, but it demonstrated a very condescending attitude toward the black community when the Civil Rights Act was passed by Congress. Prior to that time, it is true that many black people/families did not have a lot materially speaking, but they had strong family ties and ties with their local church. However, when that legislation was passed, it was premised on the ideology that black people were disadvantaged by the history of slavery and by prejudice and racism in America, which did cause real limitations; not denying this. However, in passing this legislation it sent some maybe unintentional, but nevertheless very real negative effects throughout the black community. Prior to the Civil Rights Act, the divorce rate among black families was somewhat along the same scale as the white population. However, with the government now taking responsibility for black families and giving welfare handouts, it sent the message that fathers were not necessary. This caused a certain mentality to develop, which had a negative affect on the psyche of black fathers. They didn’t see themselves as essential and began to back away from their familial responsibilities. This led to the disintegration of the black family and thus, the divorce rate in the black community began to skyrocket. Many lost sight of the importance of a father in the home, so that now I believe eight out of ten black children grow up without a father in the home. This has lead to a great void in leadership in the home, juvenile delinquency, school dropouts, criminal as well as gang activity. All that is to say that there are great similarities between a “segment” the black community in America and great segment of the Palestinian community in the Middle East.
