I also started getting misty eyed when you and Ryan went on your walk with Riley….my heart is so happy to see you so happy. Ok….tears are rollin’ now. I don’t think you realize just how much you’ve become a part of my everyday life. One day I’d love it if we could get together and go thrifting together….how much fun that would be! Tiff, I am so embarrassed that I have missed so much of your life over the last 6 months or so! Unlike SO many other RUclips channels, your videos are not just filled with DIY, and decorating ideas, but also share such sweet, beautiful, and truly inspiring glimpses into what is most important…life, love, family & friends, and that is a true blessing to all who watch you! I experienced a heartbreaking loss 2 years ago & believed I had dealt with it shockingly well considering how monumental it was for me, but I couldn’t have been more wrong! As you know all too well, grief has a mind of its own, and it reared its head with a devastating vengeance last Summer, and I’ve been living through the worst depression of my life. At 66, you think you know yourself pretty well, but I had no clue how truly decimating acute depression can be…I spent the last 6 months struggling to find a reason to get out of bed. I stopped doing everything I loved to do, I disconnected from all social media and email, and I slept the days, then weeks, then months away! And I prayed a lot! But it wasn’t until I realized and accepted the situation I was dealing with was simply beyond my control and no amount of worrying or grieving would change that reality God alone had that power, and that I had to leave it in His hands, that I finally saw a glimpse of light in my deep dark hole! When I finally REALLY talked to God & explained how I felt, I could actually FEEL that heavy burden being lifted off of my shoulders! I could finally see my way forward instead of reliving the past. And, I found myself considering things I’d never even thought of before! Maybe my brain was happy to be finally he awake again and was processing in high gear or just maybe God shared this thought with me, but whatever the reason, I suddenly found myself considering that God might be saddened and even hurt that I wasted so much of my precious time, energy, and endless sleepless night’s obsessing over everything & imagining the worst possibilities, when all I had to do was accept that I had no control over my life & the “what ifs” and put those worries & concerns in God’s hands. After all, only He knows what’s best for us! Since talk with God, I’ve slowly been able to work my way up and out of that terrible dark hole that I had found so safe and secure for way too long. I’d be lying if I said it’s been smooth sailing, because it hasn’t! BUT, thanks to God, an incredibly understanding and supportive husband, and a very devoted friend, I am becoming more & more like my old self! I’m much more positive & energetic which is really helping me to focus on the blessings in the “here and now,” instead of the empty void that I’m learning to live with. As a Catholic all of my life, I’ve always believed in God/Jesus/the Holy Spirit & I’ve always admired and respected Mary, but I don’t think I REALLY talked to any of them in a real, personal way until I was in my 50’s, and I regret that terribly. Because when I look back over my life, I can now see how many times my prayers were answered and even miracles were performed for me! I can’t express the difference I feel deep down in my heart & soul since I simply quit trying to manage my troubles and left it up to God! I’m still heartbroken but it isn’t consuming me! I’m still grieving, but I’m not allowing it to overshadow that many blessings I have. And I think I finally understand what it means to trust in God. And I have to thank you and your husband for opening my eyes to a different type of faith…a more personal and trusting one…one that enhanced and deepened my own! I have always felt blessed to have been raised as a Catholic and instilled with the reality of an all loving, all forgiving God, and I had always giving my soul to Him. Now I feel blessed that I found your channel and learned to give my heart to Him as well! At this point I need to say that I have always been extremely uncomfortable sharing my personal religious beliefs, but I felt deeply that I needed to share this with you, so I’m trusting my gut and doing something that literally scares me to death! But you have made a huge impact on me & maybe you need to hear this? Thank you for listening, beautiful girl! You are a treasure & you deserve every bit of joy and happiness life gives you!

I am so sorry you've went through such a tough season of depression. I've been through it as well, off and on at different stages in my life so I can sympathize on some level. People who haven't been there just can't really understand. I'm so thankful to hear that you're doing better and that God has lifted that burden from your shoulders. If Riley is till teething he might chew on those baskets. My little dog chewed up my tapestry woven rugs and even a hunk out of an end table which I had to repair when she was cutting her new teeth. .
