Interesting take. I just read the reddit thread from Türkiye and suggested another idea there. You could print a sleve out of PA in vase mode. Mybe the layer lines were not the problem but the inaccuracy at the inner seam. I would also print from a step file rather than stl to avoid any facets. PA might also have an edge over PLA. ABS or PETG in terms of lubrication.
