Thank you for a great video. We have stayed in a few Riu hotels (Marrakech and Cabo Verde) and considering this for next year. Especially thank you for giving a detailed view of the food. We have two members of the family who are celiac and dairy free, looks like a lot of the food was labeled. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!
That's very kind of you, thank you very much for watching. We would highly recommend the hotel and the staff are fantastic. I also did a review of the Riu Tikida Palmeraie in Marakesh on this channel. If you do have any questions about Sri Lanka, going forward, please don't hesitate to ask, and please do consider subscribing as it will really help my channel to grow. I'm just recovering from a serious accident I had at home but I'll shortly be uploading a series of videos from the USA Thank you again

Exactly what i was looking for - I'm off to this hotel later next month. Do you recommend any specific excursions to do (i have a few booked that are Tui refereed)
Thanks for watching Ben and glad the video had helped. That's my motivation for doing them 👍 Definately Udawalawe and the elephants and Galle. I've posted videos of those that may help. Speak to the Tui rep though as he got our excursions cheaper then Tui advertise. They included more and were better value. Pick up with the people I put on the Udawalawe video. The guide was excellent and I highly recommend him from our experience. He was the one that the Tui rep did our tour with. I also took the train to Colombo, which was really cool. Only £1.40 each way and well worth a visit. Again I posted that video yesterday that you may want to take a look at. (Not promoting my channel but it's the reason I post the videos, to help others who go to the same place as me) Thanks again for watching and please ask if you do have any more questions The beach at the hotel is fab but please take care when going in the ocean as it has really strong currents and rip tides. All the very best and I know you'll have a great time
Thanks for watching Gary. The other restaurants are a bit of each ie mains served and you can help yourselves to some food for starters. Drinks are served at the table. Hope that helps and if you do have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask Meant to say that all breakfast drinks are self serve
Hi Mike quick question - how did you pay for the e excursions - rupees, dollars of credit card? I always prefer credit card to avoid the need to travel with cash and conversion rates. Thanks
Hi John Thanks for watching. We paid by card to the rep. My advise though if you are travelling with Tui, is don't book anything before you travel. I don't know how, but the Tui rep does the excursions cheaper at the resort. If you watch my Udawalawe video part 1 and 2, we got all of that through the rep. We got more included at a cheaper price then Tui were offering just for the safari If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask Thanks again for watching
If you check out before 12 and your Pick Up is in the Evening, it is possible like in other RIU Hotels to eat and drink for free till you had Check Out in the Evening?
Hi Thank you for watching and for your comment Alcohol including cocktails, is served at all bars (including the pool) and in all restaurants from 10am to about midnight. The mini bars in the room only have soft drinks, but you can take alcohol back to your room if you want to If the video has been useful, please do give it a like as that will enable RUclips to push it to others who may find it useful Thank you very much, and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask
I've been reading that they do not provide toiletries in the washrooms... Is it true? And the check in process can get long and tiring... Kindly share your experience on these?
@pranaypassi2379 Hi and thanks for watching. We had toiletries in our room. If you have found the video useful, please do give it a like as it will encourage RUclips to push it to more people. Thanks
I didn't mention the cost as I guess it would depend on where you are travelling from and who you book with. We paid £3800 for 2 people for 10 days all inclusive, flying from London to Colombo via Dubai. This also included the transfer to and from the airport
Std medium sized suitcase and a backpack containing my camera gear and small personal items Any other questions please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for watching

@@Mikes_Travels thank you I’ll have a walk around the village and I’m also going to see my grandmas grave for the first time while headlong there. Gave it a thumbs up and subscribed!!
@Abby58372 Not a silly question at all. There are steps down into the pool and I think at its deepest in the centre (the pool with the swim up bar) it is about 5 feet (1.5m). There is also a ledge all around the pool to sit on as well as lay down concrete beds at the side of the pool
@MrDianaxxx Hi, thank you for watching. It isn't always recommended due to the big waves and strong current. We didn't see anyone swimming in the ocean when we were there, but a number of people were paddling. @adventureswithfarmertroy we was pleased with the price . Think we booked it about 9 months in advance which is why it may have been cheaper then
