Gotta love the way the title says slow cars but the thumbnail is one of the fastest road cars of it's day, know for being a crazy fast car that caused multiple police depts to have to retrain their officers in fast pursuit tactics after they received them and they kept crashing them due to how fast they were xD
If we had more of those old Volvo sport wagons in North America I would buy one in a heartbeat. RWD Manual transmission and more utility than any American pickup truck could dream of.
you can’t imagine how proud I was especially doing it on this corner. the same evening on our way back to france my friend logged on youtube and we saw ourselves in the video this was amazing
Many viewers seem to be triggered by the fact that the title says "slow cars" and the thumbnail is an Opel Omega 😁(no, it's not a Lotus Carlton). FYI, by "slow car" I mean slow around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, or at least not a track oriented car. Yes, a 300HP opel omega can be fast on the highway, but so can a 1000HP Pickup truck be. Now put them both on the Nordschleife and they won't be as fast as a 125HP Suzuki Swift (with the correct driver of course).
This channel seems to cover the Nurburgring extensively. Is there a video clip of the whole lap Sabine Schmitt in the transit that she did for BBC Top Gear a number of years ago
At 2:28 that old Nissan Micra is the stuff of nightmares for all the BMW boys that think they can drive. That thing looks like some old shitbox but if you look closely, it has barely any body roll and a shitton of mechanical grip. I love it.
As an owner of 115hp 2001 Mini Cooper I had to admit - you can have fun in small, slow car! Fun factor is more avaliable even with smaller speed. When I drive my other, bigger car 120km/h it's just quite silent, comfort driving - in Mini 120 or higher feels like you're doing 180 :D
Everytime I see a SUV or Pickup on the Nordschleife, I know the electronics working to keep this things on the road are like: "OMG, what is the driver doing!? Good Lord, we can´t handle this, make it end!"
Toyota yaris and nissan micra is the main reason that our takeaway deliveries are still hot enough to burn our mouth here in the uk plus they change the oil just as often as the deep fat fryers (not very often)
The biggest problems of "slow cars" and mostly old cars that were cheap, is the tire width, if you put wider rims and tires you can increase a lot the cornering ability of the car. And second thing is the suspension, if you put stiffer suspension and harder roll bars you can make them even better. Just check how good the ban at 8:13 handled the turn with better tires and a racing suspension.
@@SimonWoodburyForget well said. Bodyroll isn't bad at all if the chassis can take advantage of it. A lot of the older citroens lean heavily but handle extremely well.

Some of these aren't even slow cars, just old lol When they came out they were considered quite sporty. That Opel is an Omega 3000, the top of the line Model you could get directly from Opel at the time with 204hp. Sure that's not a lot by today's standards but this car is from the late 80s... Then there's that Xsara VTS which has 167hp. That is well in line with other hot hatches of the time like the Golf IV GTI or the 206 RC/GTi
precisely. people have no idea what "fast" or slow" is in a car, they just look at numbers on a sheet of paper the original Miata had 116 horsepower and though it certainly wasn't a beast by any standard, it was far from "slow". it still had a higher power to weight ratio than many of the old Z cars, and even quite a few of the 70s pony cars. also, you don't need a lot of straight-line speed when you never have to slow down for corners, hehe
@@grahamw56 it's not just similar looking, it's the same as the Lotus Omega or Opel Omega A. They were just sold under different names in Germany and the UK. I meant the Omega 3000 was the top of the line model with an Engine designed and produced by Opel. The Lotus Omega/Carlton has a Cosworth Engine and was one of the fastest production saloons in the world when it was released, only bested by the Alpina B10 BiTurbo
Some look like "slow" the basic model but aren't,the first volvo spin the wheel exiting the corner, the vw van must be modified too. Saw a vectra A,memories bring me back on 2014 when i got there with mine 🙂
That VW was definitely modified; I drove those things back in the 90s and they were very softly sprung (would lean to one side on fast corners). However, what gave it away on the VW was that the diff appeared to be welded - the driving wheels screeched through the turn in a way that looks (to me) that the inner tyre was trying to rotate at the incorrect speed.
What about the Lada Niva with custom wheels? It probably also has a track-prepped suspension (since it didn't tip over)? Either that, or the driver's steel balls were weighing the vehicle down to keep it planted haha
I can never decide if the passengers holding up their phones in vertical mode are filming a rubbish video vertically instead of horizontally or if they are shopping or browsing the Internet.
Actually based on the N-ring observation many of these older and/or cheaper ordinary cars handle hard driven corners better than many modern wannabe sporty cars with too many electronics... This vide is a great proof of that.
im impressed you noticed, going on the nurburgring with that rusty rear axle was actually a big mistake, the car wasn’t going in a straight line on my way back to France, I guess the car didn’t handle the Carousel lol

Years ago I took a mid 90s skoda felicia wagon with over 300,000 kilometers to the nurburgring. There was light rain and I got sideways, the spectators went wild!
Get the most out of whatever car you have 👍♥️
My neighbour, a pro racing driver once challenged me "Let's go to a track. We swap cars, I drive your GM, you drive my sports car. And I'll still beat you!"
The average household car is exceeding the limits of most household drivers anyway.
I did say I trusted him on that 😅
Cool! What's your neighbour's name? What car and racing serie does he race in? I'm a motorsport enthusiast who wants to get involved in motorsport to become a driver/rider so I'd like to look him up!
I'm so proud of seeing so many french cars and drivers. We may not be the first at the finish line, but we're gonna have fun on the way there !
2:47 Ahh, Renault Kangoo... A stiffer rear end can not be found, and the Megane is not much better. I had the same kind of snap oversteer with one at work, thankfully on a gravel road where I could save it into the next corner. I never told the bosses for some reason.
Bro cut the corner 💀
Gotta love the way the title says slow cars but the thumbnail is one of the fastest road cars of it's day, know for being a crazy fast car that caused multiple police depts to have to retrain their officers in fast pursuit tactics after they received them and they kept crashing them due to how fast they were xD
The guy in the Xsara got a youtube channel too. Drives really good.
Xsara owner did a lap with Misha, you can see it
@@mrfrancy0154 I know I saw it before this
as someone who actually loves multipla for its unique look and family friendly interiors, seeing it go all out made me smile and made my day ^^
Unique look, alright. A giant melting marshamallow.
0:55 Miata!😍
I also liked how that Cuore lifted its leg.
If we had more of those old Volvo sport wagons in North America I would buy one in a heartbeat. RWD Manual transmission and more utility than any American pickup truck could dream of.
Love this, I love how the camera avoids all the actual super cars to focus on the lemons
2:05, that VW Amarok is on dealer plates lol
Proefritje?
3:09 hahaahhaha They are so proud of the drift 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
you can’t imagine how proud I was especially doing it on this corner.
the same evening on our way back to france my friend logged on youtube and we saw ourselves in the video this was amazing
A cheaper car at it's limits is way more fun than it should be.
7:08 When a customer sets a Same Day Delivery and it's already 11:55PM.
This channel seems to cover the Nurburgring extensively. Is there a video clip of the whole lap Sabine Schmitt in the transit that she did for BBC Top Gear a number of years ago
ruclips.net/video/5KiC03_wVjc/видео.html Part 2 - the lap
Something so much more interesting and fun about lower powered cars being driven hard. This is awesome 😎 .
driver skill tops all
At 2:28 that old Nissan Micra is the stuff of nightmares for all the BMW boys that think they can drive.
Except for the Niva. That thing has not much electronics and yet it handled that corner super fine. 😀
Lada built the Niva to do a lot of things, but a hot lap on the Nuremberg ring probably wasn't one of them.
Its just top slow to slide off the Track. 😄
I like nivas, tho.^^
Toyota yaris and nissan micra is the main reason that our takeaway deliveries are still hot enough to burn our mouth here in the uk plus they change the oil just as often as the deep fat fryers (not very often)
That Lada at 1:54 looked like it was just about to tip over lmao
That Xsara has rally heritage!!!
Anyone else noticed the Yaris at 0:14 and the Twingo at 5:50 both run a German plate: GEL NR 8?? It's even possible to see the cable it's at 5:53. Not nice to see this...
3:00 I do the same thing every day when I come to work with my Citroën saxo and Peugeot 206 +, french cars have chassis designed to do this
6:15 lmao
I didn't know I needed this in my life. Most excellent.
8:04 Legendary 😂😂💥
The crowd ROARS!!!!
Hell yeah! I would totally ship my manual Hyundai Elantra '09 in germany to try the famous track! I love this little car
I'll bring my 03 Camry, we can party.
@@mikehall3976 hahahaha hell yeah
@@mikehall3976 I mean it's only $850 to ship a car to germany.... just saying
Some of these aren't even slow cars, just old lol
When they came out they were considered quite sporty.
+ almera gti
I think The BX was a GTi as well. Not slow by standards of the time
Don't forget the similar-looking (Vauxhall) Lotus Carlton. Hardly a 'slow' car, by any standards. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_Carlton
precisely. people have no idea what "fast" or slow" is in a car, they just look at numbers on a sheet of paper
the original Miata had 116 horsepower and though it certainly wasn't a beast by any standard, it was far from "slow". it still had a higher power to weight ratio than many of the old Z cars, and even quite a few of the 70s pony cars. also, you don't need a lot of straight-line speed when you never have to slow down for corners, hehe
3:00 epic slide FWD Citroen!!!
like a boss
My car is based off of the Vectra C Caravan 6:28 so just imagine that going around the circuit, but it’s a Pontiac G6
Lada Niva, Carlton GSI and that spotlessly clean looking white Citroen AX were my faves!
Also some love for the BX and the multiple old Volvos!
Y the AX was my favourite
Awesome Upload! I Enjoy the Slow cars Slightly More! lol
Refreshing video. I might took my 04 Octavia for a spin. 🤣
That title is so inviting! Lol, drive it like you stole it! Lol, that looks like more fun than the super cars!
4:29 as JC would say, 'some poo came out'
It looked like cat litter
Pushing a car to its limit sounds way more fun than driving a super car at barely any of its power on this track.
LOL the opening vid is awesome, a Yaris being chased by a Twingo, both passing a Porsche!
But bro, 2:14 #turbobox isnt a slow car, wtf...
1:45 LADA!! didn't tought it would be some in the nurburgring
The Omega that was shown, is not a slow car. It was the Omaga A 3000 24v with 204HP.
best video of all time. The Twingo overtaking the Porsche - says it all!
8:02 was my fav :D :D
Lmao 🤣
2:06
that car (Amarok?) would have turned into scrap metal without ESP
3:00 - FWD drift! :D
ahahah it was us
that saxo at 3:10 had its rear axle toasted, look at the rear right wheel camber
im impressed you noticed, going on the nurburgring with that rusty rear axle was actually a big mistake, the car wasn’t going in a straight line on my way back to France, I guess the car didn’t handle the Carousel lol
The best was the BMW Vectra at 5:20
Couldn’t help but notice that beautiful Porsche flat 6 howl behind the renault at 4:21
8:01 That guy made my day! 🤣
that Primera ain't no slouch either, IIRC, they come equipped with an SR20 too, at least the ones i've seen had one of those, but FWD tho
Some of these 'slow' cars have the telltale signs of a RollCage - which tells me that they aren't as Slow as we are being lead to be believe.
The Corsa A definitely had one installed.
Some of those people weren't messing around. They could really drive!
The Niva and the Amarok are epic
1:27 that Opel Omega 3000 with the license plate O-0074-BG is from Spain, in which the O is from Oviedo (Asturias)
Also in 6:14, that Skoda Fabia with the license plate 5484 CZC is also from Spain, but this one is from the current license registration system started in September 2000
