I’m currently learning Japanese and I was having such a hard time with polite and casual, but you explaining all this reminds me of how little I think about it when I speak Spanish. I just know which expressions I need to use. This has helped me a bit to understand my own language learning journey. Casual situations. It tends to be more cutesy, so if you don't feel comfortable with that, you could use 'por fa' instead.
