FILM DESCRIPTION:
The human race stands on the brink of extinction as a series of alien attacks decimate the planet, causing earthquakes, tsunamis and disease. Separated from her family, Ohio teenager Cassie Sullivan (Chloë Grace Moretz) will do whatever it takes to reunite with her brother Sam. Fate leads her to form an alliance with Evan Walker (Alex Roe), a mysterious young man who may be her last hope. Forced to trust each other, Cassie and Evan fight for survival during the fifth assault from the invaders.

You find out the twist near the beginning of the film when the military arrive in the camp in their vehicles, yet an emp went off shutting everything down. Cassie even points this out making it feel more that something isn't right. Plus the military killing all the adults at the camp than just the ones with guns really lit up a lot of red flags for me.
It would make sense for the military to have EMP-hardened vehicles though
The book made it way too obvious. The adults were all unarmed and the army straight up massacred them.
Yeah the second they separated the kids and the adults I was immediately suspicious of the army. I've played Fallout 4. Vault 75 did that exact same thing. Separate the kids and the adults, kill all the adults, then train the kids to be soldiers. Literally the exact same thing that happened in this film.
How was there a space ship then
Wouldn't the military have equipment that can within stand the EMPs, or hidden in storage that protected it from EMP blasts?

Correctomundo! But then the movie wouldn't be as interesting I suppose. LOTS of movies, and books for that matter, depend on not following logic and reason, because the story wouldn't hold up if that were the case.
One such error that comes to mind, from a Riddick movie. Crematoria. That scene where they run across the surface to get to a ship? Tell me how any oxygen would be left in the atmosphere of such a planet, that would allow humans to breath outside at any time?

the book was obviously better but the movie really wasn’t that bad. i enjoyed it.

BOOK VERSION:
Ringer and Ben are alone, then she pulls out her implant and Ben freaks out.
Ringer calmly explains it lights up when there’s no implant, and talks him through to the conclusion;
“Ben… *we’re* the Fifth Wave.”
Ben throws up, is horrified that they’ve been killing humans, and then all the tension comes from *how they tell their team.*

A: in the book, the holograms looked like this, but the actual aliens were described as spiritual feeling, and augmented the survival of their host by controlling them in crisis situations.
B: Depends. I wasn’t sure whether I liked them or not-feels like they go off the rails a bit, but it’s also been years since I read them.
I doubt they’ll be adapted (or that the “spiritual feeling”/nuances of the aliens would translate well to film, so if you wanna see more of this story, go for it.

They probably could have figured out that there’s no way those Others parasites could fit inside a human skull the way they were depicted. That should have been their first rip off 🙂

When you have little kids in your army that should raise red flags, when the entire planet has no power and comes the military with functional vehicles, THAT SHOULD RAISE RED FLAGS
Well it's just kids there and most of them in the book were from 5 to 12 they would not be thinking about hey this is fishy. They would be saying hi my name is blah blah blah thanks for saving me

This movie felt like a dream, started in the middle of nowhere, skipped around to interesting parts, kind of faded in between and nothing really happened for a reason. It's happening, cool stuff, cool ending.

I strongly feel that (THE 5TH. WAVE) deserves to get made into a show series of it.
The reason why is because I genuinely enjoyed seeing the year2016 movie of (THE 5TH. WAVE) & I was most disappointed that a second installment never get made, and to add if I was a Movie-Critic I would of given it the rating to the movie 3 Stars.
