Armored glass vs. sledgehammers - Which pane will last longer?

  • Which of the four armored glasses can withstand the sledgehammer the longest? We make the glass test!
    ▬▬▬▬▬▬ READ MORE ▬▬▬▬▬▬
    #glasstest #armoredglass #burglary
    4 different glass panes undergo a burglary test. We demonstrate how long the panes can hold up. Double-glazed insulating glass is totally shattered in 2 seconds by a stone’s throw. No burglary protection. The second pane in the test - armor glass - survives the stone’s throw. But the sledgehammer makes a huge hole in less than 10 seconds. Next up is conventional bulletproof glass, protection class P6B. Just 12 strikes with the sledgehammer, and a big hole opens up in this pane, too. Finally, we attack the SILATEC pane, also protection class P6B. 53 strikes with the sledgehammer. First one sledgehammer, then two at once, and it’s still impossible to break through the glazing.

    "2. Axe test
    Impact from hammer followed by axe
    Minimum no. of strikes to create opening
    P6B 30 - 50 strikes" - so why does the plain "P6B" pane get defeated in 11 strikes? Of course after this, Silatec's P6B (which survived 52 hits) looks much better, but probably still just P6B (if it meets the requirements of P7B it would be called P7B, I assume, and I didn't see the axe thrown at it).

      Thank you for your comment. (if it meets the requirements of P7B it would be called P7B, I assume, and I didn't see the axe thrown at it). Its about the thickness, SILATEC P6B EH1 is between 16- 24mm thick depending on size and is much stronger than conventional P7B glass. Conventional P7B glass is about 23,4mm thick. I hope that answers your question. :)

  • @TheGreatBackUpVIDEOS
    @TheGreatBackUpVIDEOS 20 дней назад

    I feel like secure should be rated not on a basis of "what could theoretically stop a very, VERY determined person" but on a basis of "what would deter the average attacker?"
    If it takes several swings to create a tiny hole then that is a lot of noise which a crook would be spooked off by since someone could hear it and call the cops, or alert the home owner.
    It would take even longer to make a hole one could use to enter (Assuming the window is not by a door that can be unlocked, or the window is impossible to open as is often the case.)
    Now, if you're a store with a lot of valuable goods or important information strewn about then the highest rating is definitely worth investing in just on the off chance someone with more brawn than common sense comes along, but most home burglaries are going to be stopped by the first sign of resistance.

    • @kniefi

      bin zwar auch nur interessierter Privatmann, aber ein paar der Fragen kann ich beantworten:
      3-fach Glas ist möglich! sowohl bie P6B, als auch bie P7B und P8B - auch schusssicheres Silatec Glas ist als Isolierglas erhältlich.
      im Gegensatz zu "normalem" Sicherheitsglas wird ja das Silatec Glas gerade damit beworben, dass es NICHT grünstichig ist...
      schau mal hier rein:
      www.sicherheitsglas.de/schusssicheres-glas/
      Man kann sich auch ne PDF runterladen, wo alle gängigen Typen aufgelistet sind...
      Ich spiele mit dem Gedanken mein konventionelles P4A-Glas - 3fach Iso-Scheibe gegen eine P6B Variante von Silatec zu tauschen,
      nur biem Preis bin ich mir noch nicht sicher, was auf mich zukommt.
      Aber gerade im Erdgeschoss hätte cih damit ein deutlich besseres Gefühl!

      i am no expert but these glass have polycarbonate in them so its not going to happen you can hit it with just about anything and its not going to break. To break it you going to have to bomb it with a tank or something strong enough to not only break the window but also break the wall that the window is in. Like straight up something that is going to delete the wall on impact like a missile or a bomb.
      Like literally if you were going to demolish a house with machinery the window will probably hold up and you would demo the wall before the window broke because its that strong.

      lol because all the glass except for the SILATEC one broke very easily meaning that the demonstration is implying that with enough time spent then all glass that is not SILATEC P6B is not going to protect anything that is behind that glass.
      They are promoting that their glass is the strongest because it never broke through.They even spent the longest time trying to break their glass out of all of them and basically their version of P6B is stronger than regular P6B and that is the whole point of the video..

    • @cwi39
      @cwi39 Год назад +3

      Well, they don't need a bigger hole if you don't have lockable window handles. Glass in your front door is also the weak point in many scenarios.
      I'll admit, however, that burglars who are targeting regular folk won't be carrying a sledge hammer. P4A holds up well enough when it's up against smaller tools and people who need to be quiet. P6B is for people and houses that attract a different kind of criminal.

      Since it has been demonstrated how to unlock the windows through that hole I guess the mission has been completed but if you think that is not the case I guess you can easily see that a further enlargement of the hole would be absolutely within a few seconds depending on your body.
      I guess you get what you pay for. The glass is more that double the price of the RC2 glass and I think you get more than double the performance. So I guess it is a good investment if you have the money.

    • @loon894
      @loon894 4 года назад +3

      RC Klassen beziehen sich auf das ganze Fenster, also inklusive Rahmen, während P4A, P6B Sicherheitsklassen vom Glas sind. Dass RC6 besser ist als Silatec kann man also nicht wirklich behaupten. RC6 erfordert die höchste Sicherheitsglasklasse P8B, die gibt's auch von Silatec, und danach fängt schusssicheres Glas quasi erst an, ebenfalls im Silatec Angebot. P6B (wie im Video) ist für Fenster der Klasse RC4 vorgeschrieben. Wie man sieht, ist die Norm nach der P6B vergeben wird dehnbar, da das Silatec Glas wesentlich länger gehalten hat als eine andere P6B Scheibe...
